Chapter 47: A SUPRISE SUMMON

{"Like a river meets the sea, stronger than it’s ever been, we’ve come so far since that day"}

Tor had rendered me speechless, pacing up and down my house, trying to figure out how to leave for Hanka Island without attracting a tail or raising suspicion from the royal guards and Lord Marcel’s goons. If I wanted to slip out of Paradise Coven City unnoticed, I needed something drastic to ensure no one even thought to follow me.

A sudden commotion outside my door made me pause. Then, their scents hit me—Cassius, Tio, Byron, and Idris. I smirked, amused by their stupidity. They had practically handed me the perfect distraction on a silver platter. If I played this right, they’d be too busy dealing with their chaos to notice my absence.

Without hesitation, I yanked the door open, turned on my heel, and walked back inside, leaving them standing there. Not bothering to acknowledge them, I headed upstairs to take a shower. As I let the warm water run over me, I watched them storm into my living room, hissing and cursing in disbelief. Arrogant, was I? Good. That was exactly what I wanted them to think.

I dressed with care, a smirk playing on my lips. Tor would appreciate me looking handsome, and frankly, the thought of that alone fueled my confidence. When I was ready, I descended the stairs one step at a time, fully aware of the way their eyes raked over me.

"What the hell? Is he going to a party?" Idris snickered.

Desmond, ever the opportunist, tried to push his powers on me, attempting to read my mood. I met his gaze and shoved back effortlessly. He staggered in embarrassment, and I chuckled. Amateurs.

Taking my time, I walked to the center of the room and lowered myself onto the couch opposite Cassius. His eyes burned with barely restrained fury as I crossed one leg over my knee, completely at ease.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of having you all in my house?" I asked, feigning curiosity.

Cassius leaned forward, his voice clipped. "Where is Aurora?"

I leaned back, folding my arms across my chest, unfazed. "Why are you so concerned about a woman I’m dating?"

Silence. Heavy. Charged. The anger in the room rose like a storm, thick and suffocating, but I reveled in it. It was Tio who finally broke the tension, pretending concern.

"They’ve been out of Paradise Coven City since last night," he said. "We just want to make sure Aurora and Nessa are safe."

I arched a brow. "Tio? Weren’t you one of the ones stalking us yesterday at the Kayne family home?"

Tio gritted his teeth, but before he could respond, Cassius cut in, his voice tight with authority. "The Coven Council has a right to know the whereabouts of its members."

I smiled, slow and deliberate. "Aurora is home with Ma," I said, my voice light, unconcerned. "She had too much to drink and collapsed from it. Ma sent Elder Dante to gather a rare herb near the beach of Bloodstone Mountain to cure her hangover."

The moment I mentioned Bloodstone Mountain, the room shifted.

Cassius froze. Tio and the others stiffened, their faces paling. Panic flickered in their eyes as they turned to Cassius for direction. Their fear was palpable, thick enough to taste.

Cassius stood abruptly. "We’ll check on her when she returns," he said, his tone clipped.

I nodded, watching them carefully. "She’ll be back in a week. She needs time with Ma."

Cassius’s eyes flashed, but he didn’t argue. Instead, without another word, he turned on his heel and left. The others hurried after him, their tension still crackling in the air.

As the door slammed shut, I exhaled, satisfied. Now, with them preoccupied, I could finally make my way to Hanka Island.

I left my house, keeping my pace steady, circling Paradise Coven City in a calculated path to ensure no one was tailing me. Every few steps, I subtly glanced over my shoulder, listening for any unnatural movement, any sign of a shadow lurking where it shouldn’t be. When I was finally certain I was alone, I slipped toward the beach and into the ocean without hesitation.

The water was the safest route—silent, traceless, and swift.

I summoned my powers, surging forward with unnatural speed, cutting through the waves like a blade. The journey to Hanka Island had never felt this quick, and by the time I reached the shore, the sun was already high. I exhaled in relief, my lips curving into a rare smile. Sunlight barely ever touched Hanka Island, making this moment all the more significant.

Stepping onto the sand, I walked deeper into the forest, feeling the water drying from my clothes with each step. Anxiety hummed beneath my skin, pushing me forward. I quickened my pace toward our meeting point, but when I arrived, Tor was nowhere to be seen.

I forced myself to be patient. Moving to the caves, I retrieved the fur blankets, carefully arranging them the way Tor had last time. It felt like a ritual—one that tethered me to him in a way nothing else did. But waiting wasn’t something I was good at. So, instead of sitting idle, I left the cave and swept around the island once more, ensuring we wouldn’t have any unwanted company.

By the time I returned, the scent of Tor hit my nostrils, and a rush of happiness flooded me. He was here. Without a second thought, I rushed toward the cave, my anticipation mounting. The moment I stepped inside, Tor turned around, his sharp gaze raking over me from head to toe, his expression unreadable. Then, his lips curled into a slow, knowing smirk.

"Freyr," he drawled, his voice deep and smooth, "you look stunning."

I rushed forward without hesitation, pulling Tor into my arms, uncaring of the realm, the coven, or the consequences. At that moment, nothing mattered but him. We held each other in a deep embrace that spoke volumes, no words were needed, just the steady beat of our hearts pressed together.

"You called for me," I murmured, my breath fanning against his ear. "Here I am."

Tor chuckled, a sound that sent a shiver down my spine. He stepped back just enough to meet my gaze, his golden eyes gleaming with something dark and unspoken before he captured my lips in a deep, consuming kiss.

He gave, and I took. Then he took, and I gave without restraint, without hesitation.

We remained locked together, bodies flush, the heat between us burning hotter than the sun outside the cave. Time ceased to exist as the kiss deepened, our hands gripping, pulling, needing. When we finally broke apart, Tor was breathless, his chest rising and falling in a ragged rhythm.

I, however, was hungry. He must have sensed it because his lips parted slightly, his pulse quickening. Then, without a word, he tilted his head, baring the smooth expanse of his neck in silent offering.

A growl of satisfaction rumbled through my chest. I lowered my head, fangs sinking into the flesh between his neck and shoulder blade. The moment his blood hit my tongue, I groaned, slurping shamelessly, feeling the rich warmth spread through my veins like liquid fire.

Tor trembled beneath me, his body arching into the bite. A sharp gasp left his lips before he murmured, voice thick with something almost sinful, "Why does it feel so good?"

His fingers tangled in my hair, pressing my head against his shoulder, encouraging me to take more, to claim him fully.

I fed until my hunger was sated until he was trembling, a moaning mess in my arms. Slowly, I withdrew, sealing the wound with a swipe of my tongue.

When I finally lifted my head, his breath hitched. His nostrils flared, his mouth hung open slightly, and his eyes the usual deep brown, had changed into a brilliant, glowing gold.

Something primal and untamed flickered between us. Something irreversible. And I wanted more.

His hand lowered to his zipper and on instinct when on my knees and pushed his pants down and engulfed his hardened cock that was already leaking in a matter of seconds, Tor shattered into my mouth and I swallowed his cum, loving his taste and licking his cock clean. He grabbed my chin and I looked up at him as my red eyes were reflected on his golden orbs and our best stood, admiring each other. My tongue darted out of my mouth as I licked his cock and watched the way the action pleased Tor.

" One more " He rasped and I obliged with a nod and pushed his cock to the back of my mouth and moaned in response while Tor cursed out and threw his head back from the pleasure. Ten minutes later we lay on the fur blankets holding each other and then I asked Tor why he had sent word to me.

"We seem to have a common problem of moles between Paradise Coven and Bay shifter pack. They had a meeting last night at the forest border, my on-Commander Steel from Bay Shifter, and your own Desmond Marcel. They have made plans to infiltrate the Bay Shifter pack, take down the Generals of the Pack, and paralyze us. I just wonder what they are after. Do you know anything about this?’

"What?" I sat up in utter shock and disbelief.
