Chapter 263: THE OMEGA SANCTUARY SUMMONS

{"To find a sanctuary is to find a part of yourself that has been waiting to be discovered." }

TOR’S POV

The scent hit me before I was fully awake, smoky, earthy, and unmistakably familiar.

I blinked open my eyes, groggy and still half-drunk on the way Freyr had curled against me last night, how his lips had murmured soft words against my skin until I drifted off. But now the other side of the bed was empty. And the house... was warm.

I sat up slowly, pulling on a shirt as I padded barefoot toward the kitchen. Freyr stood at the counter, sleeves rolled up, his usually immaculate hair a tousled mess. He moved with quiet precision, setting down a steaming plate of eggs, roasted root vegetables, a slab of cured venison I’d kept tucked awayand then turned as I entered the room.

He smiled softly. "Good morning."

"You cooked," I said, it if it were magic. Maybe it was.

He lifted one shoulder in a modest shrug. "You haven’t been eating enough. Thought I’d change that before you face your entire pack."

I crossed the room in three strides and wrapped my arms around his waist, burying my face into the curve of his neck. "You don’t eat," I murmured. "But you did this anyway."

"I don’t need food," he said, fingers brushing the back of my neck. "But I still remember what it means to care for someone. And you, Alpha Tor, are someone I care about deeply."

I chuckled into his skin. "I think you love"

He turned to face me fully, his hand now resting on my chest, directly above my heart. "Mate. Bonded. Claimed." His voice dropped lower, his lips brushing the shell of my ear. "Yours." That one word wrecked me more than it should’ve.

I cupped his face, kissed him like the world wasn’t already asking for both of us. His lips tasted faintly of blood, and his body pressed into me with that unspoken promise: always.

"You didn’t have to do this," I said against his mouth.

"I wanted to." He pulled back just enough to meet my gaze. "Let me care for you. Not just with hunger and blood but with moments like this. Where the world doesn’t exist. Just us."

My throat was thick with something I couldn’t name, so I kissed him again, slower this time. He leaned into it with the ease of someone who finally felt safe enough to fall.

Then, reluctantly, he nudged me toward the table. "Eat, wolf."

"Yes, sir," I teased, and sat down.

He stood beside me as I took my first bite. I groaned because, gods, he knew how to cook. Or maybe I was just hopelessly gone for him.

"I could get used to this," I said between mouthfuls.

He smirked, leaned down, and whispered in my ear, "Good. Because I’m not going anywhere." And just like that, I was full even before the plate was empty.

We cleaned up together in the quiet rhythm only lovers fall into, water running over skin, fingers trailing over familiar places, soft laughter echoing in the steamy air. No rush. No noise. Just the kind of peace you can only find in the arms of someone who already knows all your scars.

Freyr towelled off first, dressing in that dark, elegant way he always did, carefully, but effortlessly stunning. I watched him from the edge of the bed, half dressed, heart beating like a drum against my ribs.

He caught me staring. "You’re thinking too loud again," he murmured, amused, walking over to me. "You should be focusing on the pack introduction."

"I am," I said, standing, sliding my hands around his waist. "I’m thinking about the man I’m walking in with."

He blinked at that. Softened and then, I tilted my head, baring my neck. His pupils dilated instantly, nostrils flaring just enough. I could feel his hunger rise, the ache he rarely spoke about but never truly hid from me.

"I want this," I whispered. "Don’t hold back."

His fingers skimmed up my sides, to my jaw, and he kissed me gently first because he always did. Then his lips brushed the place where my pulse beat strongest.

"I’ll never get used to the way you offer this," he said, voice ragged with reverence. "Like it’s the most natural thing in the world."

"It is," I breathed. "It’s yours."

And then he sank in and the bite was sharp and intimate, a jolt of heat spreading through my limbs, curling down my spine. I gripped his hips, grounding myself in him as his mouth worked at my neck, every pull of blood tethering us tighter, closer.

He moaned softly against my skin, and I could feel it the way his hunger met my surrender. Not desperation, but devotion. His body pressed against mine with something deeper than desire. It was a bond. It was needed, and when he finally pulled back, he licked the wound gently, the mark sealing as he rested his forehead against mine.

"I’ll never take this for granted," he whispered.

"I know," I said, wrapping my arms around him. "That’s why I keep offering it."

We stood like that for a while, breathing, holding, tethered.

The warmth of his breath still lingered on my skin, the bond between us humming with energy, when a flicker of presence brushed against my senses.

Freyr stiffened a little, his head tilting toward the door just as mine did, and someone was there. Two someones, to be exact.

"Wave," Freyr said under his breath.

"And Spark," I added, already moving to grab my shirt.

Before either of us could speak, a soft knock echoed through the quiet, and then the door cracked open only slightly.

Wave’s voice came through like a ripple across a calm lake.

"I hope we’re not interrupting."

"You are," I said dryly, tugging my shirt over my head, "but go on."

The door opened wider, revealing Wave’s always-serene face and Spark just behind him, looking uncharacteristically serious. That was enough to make the air shift.

"I wouldn’t be here," Wave said gently, "if it weren’t important."

Freyr stepped beside me, already dressed, the glow of the blood bond still lingering faintly in his irises. "What is it?"

Wave’s gaze settled on both of us with reverence and something that looked like awe. "The Omega Sanctuary has sensed you."

My brows furrowed. "Sensed us?"

Wave nodded slowly, his hands clasped before him in a calm posture that only made his next words land harder.

"It felt the bond between Lycan Alpha and Vampire heir. It felt the blood, the power, and the peace. And it summoned you."

"Now?" I asked.

"Immediately," Spark confirmed. "The call was clear. You’re to present yourselves at the Sanctuary. It hasn’t called anyone in generations, not since Wave took his place as Omega Guardian."

Freyr’s voice was low. "What does it want with us?"

Wave’s lips curved just slightly, though his eyes stayed serious. "That’s for it to reveal. But the Sanctuary never calls without purpose."

A ripple of quiet spread between us, and I reached for Freyr’s hand. He didn’t hesitate.

"Lead the way," I said, voice steady. "We’ll answer the call."

Wave led the way, his footsteps impossibly light, his aura serene and untouched by fear. Spark walked just behind him, a silent guardian with eyes that flicked toward every shadow, every breath of the trees. Freyr and I followed in stride, our hands brushing occasionally, grounding each other in the silence.

The closer we came to the sanctuary, the more the air began to change.

I felt it before I saw it, an energy in the air that made the hair on my arms rise. Ancient. Patient. Watching.

Then the trees parted, and there it was and the Omega Sanctuary. Built into the side of the earth itself, the great stone doors stood like a wound in the forest, vines weaving through the runes carved into their surface. Light filtered down through the high canopy, casting the space in a sacred, golden hush.

The Waves stopped just short of the entrance, turning to face us. "It’s waiting for you. Only you."

"Not you?" I asked.

He smiled faintly. "I’ve already been chosen."

Spark placed a hand on his shoulder, nodding in silent understanding.

Freyr exhaled slowly and looked at me. His eyes gleamed with a calm I didn’t quite feel, but needed all the same. "Ready?"

I nodded once, tightly, and together, we stepped forward.

The moment our feet touched the mossy threshold, the stone doors groaned open, not by force, but by recognition. Magic brushed against my skin, cool and heavy, as if something ancient had reached out to taste our bond. Inside, the air was thick and still. And the voice that spoke next didn’t come from a body—it came from the walls, the earth, the bones of the sanctuary itself.

"Lycan Alpha. Vampire Heir. Blood united in truth. You have come."

Freyr reached for my hand, gripping it tightly. "You stand at the threshold of balance. Power tempered by loyalty. Hunger held by love. You have done what many could not."

I swallowed, heart pounding. "Your bond has awakened the Sanctuary. The first Lycan-Vampire union of our age... a promise kept from the time of the old moon."

Freyr whispered, "It knows everything."

"You must protect this bond. You must protect each other. For what is born of your union... will shape the tide to come." The silence that followed was heavier than before, and then, from the centre of the chamber, a soft glow bloomed. The moss split open to reveal a silver stone, smooth as water, pulsing faintly with light.

The voice spoke one final time. "Take this blessing. And walk in the moon’s will."

Freyr stepped forward without hesitation. He reached out, fingertips brushing the stone. A current of energy surged around us, not painful, not forceful, just infinite. Like the Sanctuary had poured part of itself into us. And then it was still, and the stone dulled. The doors behind us slowly creaked open. As we stepped back into the daylight, Wave and Spark stood waiting.

"It chose you," Wave said softly as his eyes darted between us.

"It called you," Spark added. "Now the rest of the realm will feel it."
