Chapter 123: A FURIOUS GALE

{" When the Alpha call, the shifters will abide"}

The salt-laced wind whipped against my fur but did nothing to cool the fire raging in my veins. The scent of dead Vampires tainted the ocean breeze, their foul stench clinging to my land, to my pack’s home. My claws sunk into the damp sand as I moved towards the beach, my muscles coiled tight with fury. They dared to come here. To step foot on my territory.

A low, guttural growl rumbled through me, growing into a vicious snarl. My fangs gleamed beneath the moonlight, bared in pure, unfiltered rage. The waves crashed behind me, but they were nothing compared to the storm that was inside me, nothing compared to the wrath that was building in my chest. I was in a fit of rage as I never expected the same Vampires that were in Hanka Island had come to the Bay shifter pack.

"How dare they attempt to attack us?" My voice is rough, edged with fury as I glare at the desecrated shoreline, where vampire blood has already begun to stain the sand. "Who the fuck do they think they are messing with?"

I threw my head back and roarroaredGale took over and it was a sound that split the night, that the air and, ratrattledrough the bones, it was just a cry of fury—it was A CALL. A command. The call of the Alpha. From the depths of the Bay Shifter lands, my pack answers. Howls rise into the sky, voices of the Shifter wolves and the Rogourau joining mine, their rage a mirror of my own. The earth trembles beneath the weight of their fury, of their loyalty, of their hunger for vengeance.

"Let them hear us," I snarled, my claws flexing as I stepped forward. "Let them know they have made a mistake and they will never attempt to set foot in Bay Shifter lands."

The rage still burned hot in my veins, a slow and steady fire refusing to be extinguished, but at least now, it no longer threatened to consume me. Hours had passed since my roar had split the night, but the echoes of it still hung in the salty air. The scent of vampire blood tainted the shoreline, a stark reminder of the audacity of those leeches.

I stood at the edge of the Bay Shifter Pack’s beach, my massive Lycan form still towering over the others. My fur, thick and dark, bristled as my power vibrated through the ground, making the sand beneath me tremble. The ocean’s waves crashed violently, as if they, too, responded to my fury.

Behind me, I felt their eyes—watchful, wary, and in awe. General Tiger was the first to arrive, his sharp golden gaze fixed on me. Ralph followed, his broad frame tense with the weight of what he was witnessing. Commander Flora and Rita stood beside him; their usual confidence subdued by the raw force of my presence. Then, my brother, Beta Spark, stepped up, his expression unreadable. Wave and Blossom flanked him, their scents mingling with the sea breeze, but even they kept their distance.

And then came the Mortas. General Mac Mortas, his brother, Enforcer Troy Mortas, and finally, Female Commander Belle Mortas, all stood silently behind me. They did not speak or move but watched us silently.

They had seen battle. They had faced warriors, monsters, and creatures of darkness. And yet, as they stood there, witnessing me, witnessing Gale, in his true form, I could feel their unease. No one had ever seen me like this before. Not in my full Lycan form. But since being mated to Frery Kayne, Gale had changed. He had grown. He was taller, larger, and stronger than before, and the energy radiating off him was undeniable. His emotions—my emotions—of raw, seething rage rolled through the air like a storm, making even the strongest among us take a cautious step back.

The silence stretched, thick with tension, and then, Spark finally spoke. His voice was low, edged with something close to disbelief. "You’ve been holding back all this time brother"

I turned my massive head toward him, my golden eyes burning into his. My voice, though rough and guttural in this form, carried through the wind like a command.

"They thought they could come to take what is mine" I snarled, my fangs flashing. "They thought they could walk onto our lands and leave unscathed."

The silence deepened. No one argued. No one questioned it. I exhaled sharply, my breath misting in the cool night air. Then, slowly, I let the rage settle, let it simmer instead of blaze.

"Those fucking vampires have made a mistake," I said, my voice steady now, yet still laced with the growl of my beast. "And we will make sure they never forget it."

The tension shifted, no longer from awe or hesitation, but something else, something dangerous. A shared understanding. One by one, my bay shifter pack nodded. General Tiger took a step forward. "Then tell us, Alpha. What are your orders?"

"We prepare for war and let them know that Bay shifter lands are no one’s playground "I growled.

"Ye,s Alpha" they all responded a massive sound that echoed on the beaches of Bay shifter lands.

The command left my lips with the force of a storm.

"We prepare for war and let them know that Bay Shifter lands are no one’s playground," I growled, my voice like rolling thunder.

"Yes, Alpha!"

Their response was a deafening chorus, a unified cry that echoed across the beach, shaking the very air. The warriors of Bay Shifter Pack, the Mortas, my brother, my allies—they all stood together, their voices merging into one unstoppable force. And then, the Rogourau beast roared. A sound so fierce, so earth-shattering, that it carried through the mountains, sweeping through the land like an ancient warning. A beast’s call to all who dared set foot where they did not belong.

Gale, the primal, powerful force within me, settled. His fury had been unleashed, his dominance declared, and with that, he finally allowed me to control once more.

I shifted back and the power coursed through me, bones reshaping, muscle contracting, fur retreating as I stood once again in my human form, fully clothed. A collective gasp sounded behind me. The silence that followed was thick with disbelief. Then, Flora’s voice cut through it, filled with stunned curiosity.

"Did Alpha Tor just shift back fully clothed?"

Rita chuckled; amusement laced in her tone. "Can wolf shifters even do that?"

I turned, catching the astonished looks on their faces. The disbelief in their eyes almost made me smirk. General Tiger crossed his arms, his expression unreadable as he turned to Ralph. "Please tell me you hid the fact that you can do that?"

Ralph, ever the collected one, raised his hands in defense, shrugging as if this was common knowledge. "All the Rogourau can shift with clothes on."

My gaze flickered between Ralph and Flora. Something in the air shifted—something subtle yet unmistakable. The scent of a bond and the invisible pull between mates. A small smile played on my lips as I looked at them both, my voice calm yet firm.

"Your father will be proud to see the two of you mated."

Flora stiffened slightly, while Ralph merely exhaled, a knowing look passing between them and then she asked "Where is Pa?"

"Where is Pa?" Flora’s voice was steady, but I could hear the weight behind it. The worry. The unspoken demand for the truth.

I hesitated. Just for a second.

I knew the answer wouldn’t sit well with them. But there was no point in hiding it.

"He was left behind in Paradise Coven," I finally admitted my voice even. "Sierra Kayne, Frery’s mother, will take care of him for now."

Ralph’s eyes snapped to mine, sharp as a blade, his gaze piercing straight through me as if he were searching for the real reason, the part I wasn’t saying out loud. His stare was unrelenting, filled with unspoken accusations and a challenge I had no intention of answering here, not now.

Then, a whisper."Later."General Tiger’s voice was low, a quiet warning meant only for Ralph. I watched as Ralph clenched his jaw, the muscles ticking as he gave a single, sharp nod. He wasn’t letting this go and he must have sensed that his father was in danger. But the last words of Rou had urged me as he stated, no rthatails, no jail cell could hold a Rogourau.

"Tor, rest assured, we have the Bay Shifter Pack safe," Spark stated firmly, his voice steady despite the weight of the night’s events.

I turned to him, my body still humming with the remnants of power from my shift. Gale was calm now, but the rage still simmered beneath my skin, waiting for an excuse to resurface.

"The vampires have retreated," Spark continued, his sharp gaze scanning the darkened horizon. "But I feel they will regroup in numbers and come back."

A humorless snicker left my lips. The air around us was tense, the scent of blood and battle still lingering like a ghost.

I met Spark’s eyes, my cold and unforgiving as I replied in a voice edged with steel,

"I expect nothing less."
