Becoming the Villain's Discarded Wife
Chapter 347: Meeting Each Other

Chapter 347: Chapter 347: Meeting Each Other

After a long while of hearing no movement, the driver hesitated with a skip of his heartbeat.

Could something have happened to Master Liao?

As soon as this thought flashed through his mind, he dismissed it.

How could he not know the kind of person Master Liao was?

Even the young girl in the carriage looked frail enough that he could probably break her arm with one hand. How could a man like Master Liao possibly fail to subdue her?

Even though he had full confidence in Master Liao, his hands slowed down in handling the reins.

Master Liao had ordered that once they reached this area, he should wait for a response before proceeding to the village.

Sensing the slowing carriage, Shen Miaomiao felt both pleased and worried.

She was pleased that the carriage was slowing down, if she were to jump off now, she might be able to escape alive. With a bit of luck, she might even be able to keep all her limbs intact, facilitating her escape.

What worried her was the fear of the driver coming in, if she was stuck in the window, then when Liao wakes up, she would probably be skinned alive.

Facing certain death on both ends, but also a slim chance of survival, Shen Miaomiao didn’t hesitate any further. She began to squeeze her way out through the window.

Thankfully, she was skinny, and the carriage window was wide open. In no time, she had already wriggled half her body out.

Unfortunately, the carriage window was relatively low and there was only a stub of a horizontal beam outside. No matter how she twisted, she could barely manage to balance on one foot.

"Master Liao!"

The driver called out again, but there was still no response from inside the carriage. He was starting to feel hesitant.

He finally stopped the carriage and got up to lift the curtain.

Who would have expected it, the moment he opened it, he saw Liao lying unconscious in the carriage.

The driver’s eyes bulged as he looked up to see Shen Miaomiao, attempting to escape through the window. He immediately reached for the big knife beside him and prepared to enter the carriage.

"You lowly wretch!"

The man cursed and stepped into the carriage. Mindful not to step on Liao, he reached out towards the window.

Shen Miaomiao was focused on getting out, leaning half her body out looking for a place to lower her feet when she suddenly heard a voice and a cold sweat broke out on her back.

With just a moment’s hesitation, the driver had already grabbed the clothes around Shen Miaomiao’s waist.

"You whore! I’m sending you to hell right now!"

With one hand gripping Shin Miaomiao’s clothes, the driver raised the knife in his other hand ready to strike.

The young girl’s mind was filled with three words.

I’m done for!

Just as she closed her eyes, her mouth moved faster than her brain.

"If you lay a hand on me, Master Liao will not spare you!"

As her words fell, Shen Miaomiao felt the grip around her waist loosen a bit.

The driver did hesitate.

He had been at Liao’s side for many years and had never seen him take a woman into the village.

If this little girl really had that ability...

As the driver hesitated for a moment, his grip loosened significantly. With the carriage slowing down, Shen Miaomiao made up her mind, shut her eyes, and struggled out with all her might.

As the young girl, who already had more than half of her body sticking out of the carriage, made a sudden forceful movement, the driver failed to hold on to her.

The carriage was on a small path with bushes and branches on both sides. With a hard push, the girl tumbled into a clump of bushes.

The branches of the shrubs had small thorns that scratched her clothes, leaving a few gashes.

Her arms and legs were scratched densely with small wounds, bleeding small droplets.

Not expecting the young girl to dare to jump from the carriage, the driver was momentarily stunned.

Shen Miaomiao was in terrible pain, but, in order to survive, she had no choice but to grit her teeth and run with her right hand.

The driver was no fool, if he lost her now, when Liao awoke, he might face consequences that he couldn’t bear.

Even if he dared not kill the girl, it would be acceptable to capture her and give her a beating. Perhaps Master Liao would praise him when he wakes up.

Having made up his mind, he grabbed his knife and got out of the carriage. After stopping the horses, he leaped down.

The horse seemed impatient, stomping its foot and snorting after shaking its head.

After falling heavily, Shen Miaomiao could only shed tears in pain, all the while hobbling away.

Just as she was about to be caught, she heard someone shout.

"Miaomiao, crouch down!"

The voice was familiar, in an instant, Shen Miaomiao knew who it was. But her legs were not cooperating, she could only fall face down onto the ground.

The driver following behind suddenly came to a halt, he tried to step back but only heard a whistling sound.

A stone shot straight into his kneecap.

Hearing the screams behind her, the girl lying on the ground burst into tears.

Tears mixed with the blood from her forehead fell to the ground, staining the yellow mud road with dark patches.

Seeing her cry broke Shen Wenchen’s heart, he quickly jumped off his horse and sprinted towards his beloved.

From the moment his heart fluttered, he had felt unease, only when he saw the girl’s head poking out of the carriage window did he let himself breathe a sigh of relief.

Originally, he wanted to join Shen Wenchen to find a chance to save her, but he didn’t expect his little wife to be so daring.

She actually dared to jump from the carriage.

"Miaomiao! Are you alright?" There was a tone of concern and worry in the young boy’s voice.

The disheveled Shen Miaomiao could only sob harder at the sound of his voice.

Seeing his beloved crying so heartbroken, Wenchen quickly held her in his arms, checking her for injuries.

Perhaps it was the respect for Wenchen’s presence, although Shen Miaomiao was bawling, she was savvy enough to suck up her tears, fearing to embarrass herself by shedding her snot.

It had been a year since they last met, Wenchen’s skin had darkened a bit, and his body had gained more muscles, but being held by him, Shen Miaomiao felt a lot safer.

Looking at the pitiful figure in his arms, the pain in Wenchen’s heart felt like it was being tightly gripped by a hand.

The young girl’s fair forehead was wounded because she had banged her head hard within the carriage. The wound was not yet clotting and the yellow mud on her body and face made it seem like it was getting more severe. Her round, innocent eyes were full of distress, and the warm tears flowing down her face contrasted against the mud stains, creating two clear white lines, the sight was both pitiful and a little amusing.

"It’s okay now, I’m here." The boy’s voice had lost its initial immaturity and become steady, seeming to have matured a lot over the past three years.

"Okay."

The single response carried too many emotions, only the teary-eyed girl understood. She kept her gaze fixated on the boy.

Watching the atmosphere between the two, Shen Wenchen felt goosebumps all over his body. He rubbed his arm and then went to check on the wailing driver lying on the ground.

Although the driver was taller than most people, he was a bit shorter compared to Shen Wenchen.

At this point, the driver turned pale, clutching his left leg and howling in pain.

After glancing at the couple, Shen Wenchen simply kicked the driver out cold.

"The noise he’s making is really annoying. I don’t know how they can stand it."
