Titan remained in a cacoon drifting between extremely hot temperatures to extremely cold temperatures.

That didn’t mean he wasn’t aware of his surroundings and he knew clearly well that the person in his space was up to kill him one way or another.

He thought of his beloved Sydney who was in the city of beasts waiting for him, if something happened to him, would she worry!?

Ignoring the spasms reckong his body, Titan uncoiled his snake body to reveal his sharp golden eyes as he looked at the man standing at the cave wall looking at him.

What do you want?" Titan’s voice was raspy and the pain he was enduring could clearly be heard from the sound of his voice.

I want to kill you. " the man shrugged and assessed Titan’s sharp eyes. "It’s useless to think of escaping from me. Do you even have the slightest idea how long I’ve been waiting for you!?"

I’ve never met you before! Why do you want my life?" Titan hissed. He wasn’t one to usually talk but now he wasn’t in his beast shape and he also took this time to assess the opponent’s power. He even couldn’t tell what beast he was!

Blame this matter on your race and on yourself for being unlucky! Actually, it doesn’t have to end up with you dying...but that will depend!" He said and got off the wall and trudged closely.

Titan didn’t shift his body as he looked at the other party vigilantly. "On what?" He asked.

Your power! If you are willing to give it up, then you won’t necessarily have to die. However, if you are unwilling to give it up, I’ll still take it from you."

Be clear! How will I k ow if I’m capable of giving you what you want if you are being vague?" Titan hissed angrily.

Not only that, even your egg shell... wait...don’t tell me you still have it!?" The man’s probing faze made Titan feel uncomfortable and subconsciously fold at the place he stored his egg shells. He always kept them on him and he hadn’t eaten them like his brothers did.

The action wa subtle but the man noticed it and a smirk graced his features. This gets even better!" He slurred. "Hand them over!" He demanded aggressively!

I don’t have them!" Titan denied.

"Oh please...don’t play games with me. If you really did, there’s no way you’d be clueless about what’s happening to you! You’d understand this process and how to counter it! Now...hand them over and I’ll spare your life!" The man spread out his palm but the most noticeable thing was the long and curled black nails. They looked terrifying.

Titan still retained his calm demeanor despite the man’s growing aggression and agitation. What are you waiting for little one? Come on..give it. You have my word...I won’t touch you! Don’t you think you should at least give them to me as a gift?! I let you grow this old! Come on...I don’t have much time! If you are willing, we can even become close friends! I can also tell you everything you wish to know! How about it!? Hmm???" The man’s red eyes grew crazed with every passing second as he tried to desuade Titan to comply with his requests.

The shells won’t be enough for you." He pointed out calmly and uncoiled his body. Right after I give them to you, you’ll grow stronger and attack me. The shells are only half of the power you seek! The other half can be completed by you consuming my heart." Titan’s eyes turned into sharp slits.

The Man who was waiting for Titan to obediently hand over his egg shells was stupified for a moment.

As for me being your close friend!? Don’t make me laugh!" Titan sneered. " You want to stand at the top of the world, how can you let someone equal or even better than you exist?" Titan unveiled his shameless ideas in broad daylight making the man have an ugly expression.

You!!!!...." He realised something and looked at Titan with wife eyes. "You knew!" He accused with a black ugly finger pointing at Titan.

If I did not, how would I have been able to draw you out from your nest?" Titan’s body stopped spasming and the whole of his body uncoiled and elevated off the ground. There was no pained expression on his face as he looked at the man with murderous intent.

Hahahaha....hehehehe...you are smart! He praised genuinely. Ah....how silly of me. I should have known after I found that you haven’t shifted yet. It’s been so many years, how so?" He asked curiously. Don’t take me threats to heat. I’m honestly curious." His sinister and unwilling eyes never left Titan’s figure.

I refused to acknowledge that heritage." Titan spat those words out. He was not to hand his life over to a clan that didn’t have his best interests at heart by pushing such a huge burden on him only for them to hide away after doing so.

You did not acknowledge? How’s that possible!? Then ..why don’t you give it to me. I want it! Give it to me!!!!" The man yelled going crazy once again! If such power had been bestowed upon him, only if....but his fate wasn’t so lucky! "Arghhh!!!" he was so frustrated just looking at Titan.

Even if I don’t want it. You don’t fall in line with the people I can hand it to. Now! Enough of this chit chat, why don’t we settle scores. You wanted my life, not only now but even before I hatched. Today, I’m going to repay that debt. If you are able to make it out alive, ensure never to cross me again!" Titan said his piece and immediately attacked the other party ferociously.

He slapped the other party with his tail plastering him onto the cave wall.

But even with the level of brute force he used. The man wasn’t smashed to meat paste. He laughed mockingly. If a kid like you can harm me, then I won’t be Malherbe! Hahahaha! He laughed menacingly and dug his black nails into Titan’s body hoping to hear a pained screech.

However, he was disappointed beyond words when his nails couldn’t penetrate past Titan’s golden scales.

Following his astonishment, he heard a kacha sound as his most precious nails broke into half! His dumbfounded state gave Titan a chance to wrap his tail around the man who was clearly caught off guard.

Titan let his scales rattle in the process as they stood off his body, this move was dangerous since he was exposing his vulnerable inner body to the enemy but his only chance was through poisoning him as he didn’t have much of battle power at the moment!

He uncoiled around the man before he could realise this move and his scales did the job for him. The man’s body was sliced on ever part of his body that the scales went past poisoning him in the process then threw him meters away.

It all happened too fast for the man to react. What hurt him the most wasn’t being poisoned but loosing his precious nails! Without his beasts power to protect him, his nails had been his means of survival and most precious, loosing them like this was equal to failing to attain the power he was badly longing for.

"You tricked me!!" The man shouted and wanted to charge forward and attack Titan but he was unable to. He fell to the ground as the poison recked his body. At this point, he’d die before he could attain his goal! But how could he!? Had he waited all these years to die in the hands of a kid thousands of years younger than him!? No! He won’t allow this!

"We will meet again!" He swore. "And at that time, you won’t be the one to end up with a smile! I will be the victor! You have a female right, keep a close eye on her as you will never know when I come take her from you!" He threatened and vanished into a thick black smoke.

Titan was late this time and wasn’t able to catch him before he disappeared.

"Sydney!" Fear filled him!

Once the enemy was out of his radar, Titan shifted into his half beastform and took out his egg shells. If pieces together, one could see that only a small piece was missing off of it. It was what he had consumed by accident when he had just hatched but he couldn’t bare the information overload.

From that time forward, he had kept these eggshells, if he ate them, he’d have to go back to that place...but that wasn’t his home anymore! Where Sydney was is where his home is!

And now, he had made an enemy of Malherbe, if he suddenly attacked while he was away, what would become of his beautiful Sydney. He dared not eat them!
