Falcon clan castle.

"We have lost sight of the Snake lord and the snake beastmen who initially agreed to work with us have also refused to spit a word about his where abouts." The messenger reported.

"What?!!" The falcon king slammed the stone table before him leaving a crack along its way. "How can such a big snake vanish like that?! Didn’t you all keep your eyes on him all this while?!"

"We did what you asked us too but...."

"I don’t want to hear excuses! Find him and let him know of the offer on the table. No one can refuse the temptation of power. Add a few benefits for him....we can get him any female he wants. All his demands, however foolish they may be...we need him to stand on our side.

"Yes my king."

"Good. Any news on Ash and his group?" Falcon king asked as he stood up from his stone throne.

"Nothing. The last traces of them were up west and their female is also still missing." the falcon beastman reported.

"Good. Let’s keep utilising this chance and make the city our own. It’s time for our tribe to rise!"

"King...the matter concerning the leopard king’s threat...our warriors that have mates are refusing to cooperate with what you asked them to do."

"I didn’t have much hope in them either! Those love sick fools!!!!" The falcon king hissed irritably. That’s why he preferred his clansmen mating from within the clan but it was impossible. The whole clan had only ten females and the rest thousands were male.

"Honey!" A sweet looking female walked in on them and the falcon king grinned like a fool. He sent his subordinate away to accommodate his female.

"Like you are any different!" the subordinate sneered ince he was out of the room. What male wasn’t a love sick fool?!Although he envied the eagle clan for their greatness over the years, he didn’t think it warranted them creating chaos in the city. They had females to protect and families to care for! But yet again, he was loyal to his king and through this, he’d get a chance to find a female. But as of now, he had no other purpose in life than serve his king.

The falcon clan had different rules concerning mating. For a male to qualify to mate, he has to have the approval of their king and only those of third rank and above got that previlege. Unless it was the female to take fancy of the male, a male from the falcon clan would mostly live as a warrior and fight to level up to gain the right to mate.

Sydney spent the past three days in joy living freely and being reckless to the tee. She had infatuated beastmen by her side, she played to the point that she’d drop dead asleep when the sun fell.

The crackling sound of the fire filled the night. The flames cast shadows on the faces of all five beastmen who watched their female sleep soundlessly in Ash’s embrace. He had shifted into his beast form and kept her warm but he was awake like the others, watching her.

"I got news about the situation in the city of beasts." Titan begun and all looked at him. Lately, alot of snakes had been coming and going. Caden had also been told to avoid flying and they kept themselves under wraps.

Ash raised his head and looked on with concern. Was the city attacked? he wondered.

"Your people are thinking of throwing you guys out." Titan added once he had all their attention.

Ken was so pissed. "Who’d dare!!?" He almost sprung up. What right did they have?!

"The whole problem begun with the falcon king. He wishes to over throw Ash from the seat of lord and have someone replace him." Titan continued.

"What?! Is there any beastman above the tenth rank?!" Caden was surprised.

"I didn’t know of any!" Shawn was equally puzzled. The strength of the city was in the hands of their lord.

"Did you find out who they wish to place as the lord?" Caden asked. He wasn’t worried about Ash being usurped from his east, his worry was having an unreliable Lord.

"Yes.. it’s me." Titan replied and silence ensued.

Ken burst out laughing and Ash relaxed his body back. "That idiot is biting his own tail! Hahahaha!" Ken laughed till he had tears in his eyes.

"SHUT UP! You’ll wake Sydney up!" Caden growled which immediately shut ken up. He stole a glance only to see that she was still asleep. He heaved a sigh in relief but still had a wide grin on his face. The falcon king was one joker. Now wonder his clan wasn’t taken seriously.

"Now I understand why your clansmen wouldn’t leave us even for a second." Shawn murmured. It only meant that the snake beastmen kept coming to convence their lord to take over the position and some also wanted to benefit from his post by gaining power in the city of beasts.

Ash who wished to talk shifted back and Sydney stirred alittle before going back to sleep. The soft and warm fluffy pillow was replaced by stones! So uncomfortable!!!

"Do you want the post?!" Ash asked seriously. He had long wanted to give that title to someone else.

"I want to be Sydney’s mate." Titan said solemnly. He had no other desire in life. He had already told his clansmen to keep dreaming as he had no interest in leadership. Some scouts had also come to tell him of the falcon king’s plan for him but he had rejected them and told them to stop associating with the falcon clan.

"Then what of your clansmen?!" Shawn asked.

"I have no obligation to them and I don’t care."

"You are really cruel! I pity them!" Ken tsked.

"Since the city is in that state, we should hurry back there." Ash said after some thought. Instability would bring about chaos and the possibility of attacks from joined stray forces.

"Why bother? They betrayed you..I’d prefer if we find some other place to settle and live our lives." Titan said.

"That’s not bad!" Ken supported the idea.

"Our home is in the city of beasts. Sydney would surely want to go back there..." Caden said and all fell silent.

"Then we shall return as soon as possible. We will talk to Sydney when she wakes up and ask if she’s okay with going a lot faster." Ash said and all nodded in agreement.

The next morning came and Sydney was in support of the idea. Though she had no idea why their travel plans had been hastened, she didn’t ask and they set off immediately. Caden took flight and indeed spotted a group of falcon beastmen flying around. He concealed himself and shit higher up that he was out of their line of sight but could still keep an eye on the group below.

Titan took on his beast form and comuflaged himself then sped up to catch with the others. All that could be seen from above was trees almost being knocked over as something went through them at a super sonic speed.

Sydney held on tightly on Ash’s neck as he sped off. She had grown used to the speed and wasn’t nausea anymore. She just relaxed and enjoyed the ride.

On learning that their lord was headed for the city of beasts, the snake beastmen followed behind but kept a distance from him.

Eagle castle.

"Surrender the title peacefully eagle tribe! Your king and prince are absent. They abandoned you and you can no longer do your duties to the city. Let those with the ability do what you can’t!" The flacon king spoke heroically looking down at the eagle warriors with disdain.

Falcon king!" one of the elders called out to him. "Do not not embarrass yourself too much. If your ancestors who were greater and wiser than you failed..what makes you think you can?!" The elder reprimanded the Falcon king.

"You won’t live to see the sun set today Elder. Why not return to your home and let the capable do the talking?! I see you are all shaken by the absence of your leaders. You don’t need to put on a strong act with me. I won’t ridicule you at all." The falcon king sneered.

"It’s been a while since we last met Falcon king!" Carlos stepped out from the castle and walked into the opening casually. The falcon king hadn’t expected this development and was stunned silent. He looked at Carlos in anger.

You!!!!" The falcon king hissed.

"Well...please continue. I’d like to hear more of what you were saying." Carlos said and looked up.
