Everyone was ready to leave but that didn’t mean that they didn’t have watchful eyes cast upon their residence.

Lord Storm wasn’t anxious at all, infact, he was pretty patient because for as long as Sydney was still in the city, she’d in the end fall into his hands. Beastmen weren’t crafty by nature but with time and the corruption coming from age and desire for more power, they’d become extremely scary!!

I’ve been keeping our an eye and we are truly being watched. It’ll be a little troublesome to bring Sydney out of this city." Carlos said solemnly.

I told you guys not to bother but you are stubborn! Have you forgotten? I’m mates with Titan!" She said and they all looked at her.

She smiled and took a deep breathe. Luckily, Core had been teaching her on how to use her mate’s power for her own and now she was capable of camouflaging, though not to Titan’s extent, it was enough for her to leave this city undetected.

Under their watchful eyes, Sydney’s figure begun to fade a little most especially her lower body and head except for her chest.

I can only hide these parts of me." She said and immediately regained her usual self.

Seeing her do that, no one had anymore complaints and immediately they prepared to set off.

Where are you going?" A guard at the gate asked seeing Ray and his company leaving all of a sudden.

Who are you to ask us?" Ken asked wirj a growl stepping forward.

You are mates to a female of our city so we should know where you are going." The guard said looking at the baggage on Shawn’s back with a penetrative gaze. It can’t be that you plan on taking the female out of the city." He said pointedly.

So what if we are?" Ken was hot-blooded and didn’t hesitate to provoke the latter. "And who said she’s a female of your city? She’s our female!!!"

You can’t leave!!!" The guard said and the others also came forward to stop the group.

Roar!!!!!

The cry reverberated throughout the city alerting Lord Storm.

What are you trying to do?" Before long a group of lion beastmen had surrounded them.

Ken smirked triumphantly. Indeed, these beastmen weren’t smart.

Lord Storm finally arrived and all those beastmen hurriedly made a path for him. His eyes immediately scanned through Ray and his group and he frowned upon seeing the luggage on Shawn’s back.

What are you carrying out? And where are you going?" He asked.

The city lord is really interested in our affairs.. hohoho...look at that..don’t tell me you have designs on our mate when you are already mated." Ken asked with a sneer.

I don’t. But female’s are currently precious and we can’t let you leave with a female just like that. If you plan on going out hunting, it’s okay but you camt bring her with you as it’s dangerous." He said so righteously that even Ray shuddered in disgust.

Enzo was speechless, he walked out of the gate. A beastman tried to stop him but Enzo slapped rhe latters face so hard that the whole place fell into silence. Amyone who tries to stop me will face dire consequences. We are born of the wild and that’s where we belong. How we look after our mate is our business and anyone who dares to dictate how we deal with our affairs has to make sure they are part of our family." He said coldly.

Lord storm’s mouth twitched hard. He was indeed over stepping.

Shawn and the others also walked over and got out of the city gates with no one touching them or daring to check their things.

Fine. We won’t stop you from leaving but once you do, you can never return to our city." His words had double meanings to them but Enzo aks the rest weren’t able to pick on them and besides, he had only agreed to let them leave after confirming that Sydney wasn’t with them. He was assured she was still within the city since there had been no news of her leaving yet.

Wjat he didn’t know was the fact that Sydney was actually standing just next to Kevin and Greg but because she had camouflaged, if one wasn’t keen, they wouldn’t be able to notice her. Also, her scent was deeply drowned by the numerous number of males around.

And besides, not all her mates were here. Ash and Carlos were still back at the house.

Once they were a few thousand meters from the city walls, Sydney reappeared. She got onto Ken’s back and the group sprinted off, they didn’t even bother going to the city of beasts and immediately ran further south.

Only when the sun set did they come to a stop so that they could cook some food and rest too.

Greg lit the fire while Enzo and Caden accompanied her in silence.

What more do you know about the south?" she asked Caden who unruffled his feathers then looked at her. Shifting to his human form he sat next to her. Well, I’m not so sure but I know that the land is as dangerous as the skies. There are no shortages of flying beasts down there." He said.

So flying there might not be a good choice?" She asked.

It’s fifty/ fifty if I’m to be honest. So I guess we will have to sometimes fly or travel by land at other times."

Mmm. I get it." She said. Her focus had been on flying but well, it was normal for things to take a different route from one’s initial plan.

When the aroma of food reached her, Sydney shifted her attention to the fire that was burning brightly. "I wonder how Titan’s fairing along." She muttered.

How about you try to summon him?" Enzo asked. He had seen her summon Ash before so he believed if she could do it one more time, she would be capable of doing it.

I tried...but wasn’t able to. The distance between us is too far." She said. Also, she wasn’t in deep danger or trouble so her summoning her became a little hard. She had tired and tried but was unsuccessful. It had puzzled her alot only to learn from Core that it was about a burst of powerful emotions and with that particular mate in mind, that way, she’d be capable of summoning him to her side with ease.

I’m just wondering how he’s doing. For as long as he’s fine, then I’m glad. Besides, he could be dealing with something important at the moment. I wouldn’t wish for him to abandon his current affairs just to come find me." She said dismissively.

Then you should eat something and quite worrying over nothing. Infact, some of us are happy he isn’t here! You treat him a little too nicely than you do to us." Ken said walking over with a stone bowl with meat and rice in hand.

Are you asking for a beating?" Sydney snarled at him.

I don’t mind." Ken walked over and handed her the stone bowl with grin that could make one so infuriated that they’d wish to committ murder.

I’ll just ignore you." She said with humph and turned away after snatching the stone bowl.

As she begun to enjoy her meal, she heard the sudden rustling and turned around Enzo and the others also turned around only to find Ash and Carlos standing rhere covered in blood.

You killed them?!!"she asked in alarm.

They planned to spill the beans so we had to deal with them." Ash said plainly and walked over to the fire before cutting himself a chunk of meat then sat down to eat.

I thought you weren’t coming..." Sydney pointed out.

Do I have a choice?" He asked bitterly.

You do. You can choose not to come and I won’t mind." Sydney didn’t plan on forcing anyone to come with her although she would have loved to be with them.

Ash remained silent. In truth, he didn’t have a choice. The moment he became her mate, his choices had been sealed. For life.

When she saw done with her meal, she fell asleep in Caden’s embrace and waited for the morning of the next day to come.

As the sun rose, Sydney and her group of eight set off once again. They encountered some strays whom they dealt with easily, other beastmen who were out hunting and they were surprised to see the city lord. They offered greetings to him but didn’t inquire about his journey.

Two weeks later, they arrived at the boundary that crossed over to the south region.

The whole place was shady and erriee, they came to a halt.

Right ahead of them was an ash gray land, like it had been set on fire. The winds were howling blowing up the ashes from the ground and the trees were scorched black.

Core was startled awake.

What’s this...." She asked Sydney.

I also have no idea." Sydney replied looking at the area that was over a hundred square miles and it was in the same state.
