Chapter 192: That was who his little sister was
Sydney halted in her steps and turned to look at Ray and the pool of blood around him. She gave up attacking and scanned around her. As it wasn’t an arena of sorts, the wide tree trunks were good places to find herbs that could aid in stopping blood. She walked around the look for that herb, she had written it down in her book when she left the city of beasts before and she couldn’t be any thankful for having that knowledge. She searched around and everywhere she went, those beastmen would disperse like flies.
Not long, Sydney spotted a stalk of that herb and hurriedly dug it out, she ran back to Ray’s side and threw the herb into her mouth, chewing it to soften then apply it to his gushes as a paste. The juice too had a gumy like consistency.
Caden.. return to the city of beasts and ask for my brother to come." She looked up at Caden and he immediately nodded, he stretched his wings and sped off.
These wounds need to be stitched back or it’ll take forever for them to heal. We currently can’t move him...she muttered. Kevin, help me get some fish bones, Greg, I heard there’s a silkworm nest so far from here...can you please help me get a few silk strings?" She asked her eyes pleading.
You just have to say the word." Greg stood up. We are family, so we won’t let anything happen" he said and immediately went to find what she needed.
Currently, all the others were looking on at Sydney and her group with wide eyes full of pity for her.
The state of these wounds, there was no way this beastman could hang on.
I don’t understand, during the fight, that beastman didn’t take in his beastform, I’m sure he wouldn’t have been at a disadvantage!!" One male said after assessing.
You are right! But why does it feel like those four males have no beast scents!!!" Another said with a frown.
Like pinpointing it out, many others looked at Ray and Enzo with eyes full of shock.
No, it’s not that they don’t have scents of beasts, theirs are extremely faint!! If I’m not mistaken, that beastman is an eagle.." he said pointing at Enzo.
Others looked at Enzo and it was true. He had an eagle beastman’s scent but it was too faint!!!
Ken hurried back home and came with a wide skin hide, although Ray couldn’t be moved, they wouldn’t remain here to become a topic!
Ash broke two long thick branches and they worked hand in hand with Shawn to make a stretcher. They gently lifted Ray and place him onto the stretcher before heading back home.
City of Beasts.
Caden flew into the city like a mad bird and if not for someone recognising him, a flock of warriors would have hunted him down for a good thrashing.
But seeing his urgent expression, no one made trouble for him. He flew into the heart of the city where he coincidentally happened to find Scott coming out of the city hall.
Screech!!!!
He dived and snatched him away.
No words said!! He talons held steadily onto him and they dashed out of the city again.
Scott was naturally given a jolt but upon seeing Caden, he calmed down and let the latter take him away. The whole journey took short of an hour and they were back at Storm City.
Scott was surprised to see that a city was actually standing!!!!
How??? It hadn’t even been two months since Sydney left the city of beasts and there was actually another city!!! He had seen her map that she drew and was sure there was only a single city before?
The storm city didn’t have strict entry requirements and Caden directly flew in with Scott.
When he got to the city center where Sydney’s home was, Caden gently let him down and he too immediately shifted back into his human form. Sydney said it was an emergency." It was then that he got a chance to speak and led him inside.
Kevin and Greg had also already returned with the things Sydney had asked them for. So when Scott arrived, she immediately handed them to him after she had made certain adjustments to them.
A basin of warm water, a small fire, a fish bone with a small hole where the silk gause could be inserted, everything was there
Scott also didn’t speak much as he begun to work.
Sydney asked the others to move out first.
She came out and slamped onto the ground. Her brother was here, Ray was saved!!! If it was her brother, even if one still had a few breathes in them, he had the ability to snatch them back from the jaws of death!! Only if the heavens denied it but his chances of a person losing their lives in his hands were as low as one percent.
You are covered in blood, come wash." Ash said carrying Sydney over to her stone basin in the bathroom.
She just let herself be carried as her mind calmed down and her heart fell back into its rightful place.
After washing up, Sydney walked out of the house and say in her small yard right next to Kevin. He was currently tinkering with fish bones and making those thin bones into stitching needles.
What are you doing?" She asked him as she peered over.
A medical kit. You said earlier that your brother is a doctor and these kinds of things would come in handy." Kevin said with all seriousness and even showed Sydney a few of those that he had completed making.
The stash of silk gause had been neatly handled and the remainders had been rolled onto a small branch and wrapped up in a skin hide. He was metilicious.
Mm, let’s make him a kit!" Sydney nodded in agreement and hurried back inside, she returned with Ken carrying a small log of dry wood. "Let me do it." He insisted.
Alright..come here, I’ll guide you on how to do it." Sydney said and sat down.
Hours drifted by slowly and after three whole hours, Scott walked out of the room with a basin full of blood. It was unsightly.
Shawn took it from him and told him where Sydney was. He went to find her.
Sydney..." He called to draw her attention.
You are done!" Sydney hurried to her feet. How’s he?"
He’s lost alot of blood but will be fine. How did he get injured?" He asked with a frown. All those blows were dealt with only an intention to kill! Luckily, Sydney had made prior preparations or else things wouldn’t have been good. Those fish bones were only good for a one time use and I let because they were as steady as metal and they didn’t bend when he was dealing with the internal bleeding.
Someone, his brother wanted to kill him." Sydney said feeling extremely sour, killing intent flashing through her eyes.
Calm down! Those are beasts! You can’t fight them!" Scott said scolding.
I can!!" Sydney was defiant.
Oh? Why don’t you show me then?" He asked with a smirk and moved to attack. This little sister of his had been willful since childhood and only after one had proved to her that she was incapable would she back down. He had fought these beastmen before and knew how well they fight, after all, they were natural hunters!
Not only did they have thick hides for defense, if you couldn’t breach that, then you’d be fighting a losing battle! They were also fast and had superb reflexes too. Sydney was good, yes he had to admit but in this wild world, she wasn’t. Her only chance was that males didn’t fight females.
Peng...
The siblings fists clashed dangerously.
Kevin and group didn’t expect the siblings to fight.
Hey hey...don’t fight now....." Ken felt his scalp numb over. He had seen Sydney fight before but not her brother...damn strong!!!!!
Sydney retreated with an ’ow’ her hand stung from colliding with her brothers iron like fists.
She drew her stone blade from her thigh. "Stay out of it!!" She said sternly shocking her mates into a pause.
She charged again, this time drawing on their power, her blade wasn’t pointed her brother but rather the handle was what she used, this time round, as they clashed again, Scott drew in a hiss and his eyes rounded in astonishment. It was because Sydney’s brute force had surpassed his and her speed was like that of a feral beast.
What’s going on??
I said I can! They actually dare to hurt my people?" She said through gritted teeth.
Then vent it all here. At least I have reservations for not hurting you as for those beasts, they’ll not have any if they are pushed into a corner. Let your mates deal with this matter." Scott knew she was boiling with rage now and if she didn’t let it out, well, only heaven would know or he’d have to knock her out. She was as gentle as a flower but as ferocious as a beast on rampage, that was who his little sister was.
