Chapter 177: You win, you leave. You loose, you die.

That.. that’s your city lord’s female?!" One male found his voice and spoke.

She is..." The falcon elder said his eyes softening considerably.

In a few breathes time, Caden had arrived to where the surviving leaders from the alliance were. He kept flapping his wings and stayed in the sky like the others.

Sydney looked at those few beastmen who were senselessly looking at her in a daze. "You survived." She said blankly and some of those leaders who were mates broke from the daze and looked at her ferociously despite their wildly beating hearts.

Because of her ambush, their off springs and brothers had died just like that!!! Despite her beauty, that wouldn’t help her escape their rage!!!

You cruel female!!!" A chief bellowed his eyes glowering viciously.

Cruel? Is that so?!" She asked her eyes looking around innocently. " that should be the case." She added with a soft smile.

I’ll personally kill you today!!!" Another yelled out loud but didn’t charge forward.

You planned to attack my home and kill my mates and I’m cruel. If I don’t return the favour then won’t I live up to your expectations."

Since a big number has been dealt with, we’ll be taking your female’s as compensation for the disturbance you caused our city. I’ll have to thank you in advance." Sydney said with a smile and tapered on Caden. He descended from the skies and landed on the hundreds of dead bodies. He transformed and carried Sydney so as she didn’t step on the dead bodies of the beasts.

Ray stepped all over the dead bodies and followed after Cadne and Sydney.

Her words took a while to register in their minds but when they did, it was already too late as she was on the ground in her mate’s arms.

You dare!!!" A chief who still had his mate at home screeched loudly. He flapped his wings to go the shelter where their respective mates had been kept but came to a sudden halt when he saw the spotted snakes coiled around the house. It was that if one dared to move close, those snakes would strike.

Sydney smiled upon seeing that beastman come to a halt.

Female, we initially have no fued between us. Why don’t you forgive us for acting blindly. We will not have designs on your city anymore." A cheetah beastman spoke.

From what he head learnt about the city’s lord’s house, they were people who didn’t like fighting all the time and preferred to solve their issues through talks. If he could get her to over look this matter, then it’ll save them time and energy. Though he was already mated, that female was too beautiful to hurt.

Sydney didn’t bother with that beastman and continued her way to the house covered with spotted snakes. When she was close, she smiled at the snakes. "Thank you." This was a request they had agreed to help her with and now that they had done their part of the deal, it woupd soon be her turn.

Missus needn’t be polite." The strongest among the spotted snakes replied with a hiss.

How many females are there?" She asked. The house was silent and one would not think that there was a single breathing creature inside.

Around a hundred." The spotted snake replied.

Mm, good, we will wait for the others to arrive." She said and turned to face the surviving leaders.

Let me down." She said to Caden who put her down. The snakes in the area all moved to the side but didn’t attack. Even Caden and Ray who were by her side weren’t bitten!

This led those high up in the sky to wonder if these snakes had something wrong with them! But remembering the falcon elders words, these snakes had indeed come on her command.

Female, dont he rush! Just because we aren’t attacking doesn’t mean we don’t dare hurt you!!!"

What use is it for you to shout from up there. Come down and talk like real men!" She reprimanded angrily. Her neck hurt from looking up at those fellows.

What if you ask your snakes to bite us!!!"

What? You big and ferocious beasts are actually afraid of these small guys? Aren’t you embrassed?!" Sydney looked at the beastmen in the sky with disdain.

Don’t ridicule us!!! This is life we are talking about now!!! So what if we are big and the likes, one bite is enough to send us on our way!!! All those beastmen thought jeeringly.

Female, I have a suggestion. Give me my female and I’ll go away never to be seen again." A vulture spoke drawing everyone’s attention. He was perched up on a tree branch and had taken on his human form.

"And why should I do that?" Sydney asked. The vulture wasn’t so detestable of I oy ue could strap some clothes on and not dangle his private part out.

Caden saw where Sydney’s eyes were and immediately covered her forest green eyes from catching a close up look on those things. Caden screeched angrily at the vulture and he immediately turned his hand into a wing and covered himself with a red face. "Sorry about that." He apologized.

Sydney rolled her eyes. She hadn’t even gotten to see much of that!! Why was Caden acting up!!!

Take your hand away I did not see anything." Sydney spoke helplessly. Her nose was almost being squished.

Mm." Caden replied and withdre his hand only after seeing that the vulture had some brains and had covered himself up.

Clearing her throat, Sydney looked up to the vulture and titled her head to the side. "Why should I give you your female back?" She asked again.

Because. She’s my sister! We are the only survivors from our small clan. I can’t bare to part from her!!" He said weakly. He wasn’t like the others whose clans had survivors. For him, he had run as far as he could go and when he met with the Cheetah clan and proposed to join them, it was on condition that his sister’s first mate would come from their clan. And he also had to act as their eyes from high up in the sky! Since he needed to protect his sister, he had done what was in his ability till they came over to this side. He had wanted to leave with his sister but when the plan to attack the city was brought up, all the females were gathered in a single house and he didn’t get a chance to leave.

Sydney listened to the vulture and her heart softened. She observed the vulture from up and saw that his features were indeed soft and seemed to have just shifted not long ago. He still had the bashfulness of young male! And his dedication to protect his sister reminded her of Scott who was currently in the city looking after her children.

Right...another batch of her children would be arriving soon too!

Sigh... she turned to look at Caden and Ray to ask for their opinions.

He sure does look young." Caden assessed the vutlure and said.

Should we pardon him?" She asked.

Let’s wait for the others to arrive." Ray suggested and Caden nodded too.

Okay." She agreed with them and turned to face the vulture. We will let you and your sister go." She promised and the vulture beastman was surprised.

Really? You mean what you said?" He asked his voice shaky from disbelief and excitement.

You have my word." Sydney assured him and felt piercing gazes on her. She turned her attention to the others. If any of you has his sister inside, speak up. I’m willing to let you off." She said her eyes observing the rest of the beastmen. What? None of you has any sister? That’s a pity." She said sadly and looked at the cheetah beastman riding on top of a hawk. My mates granted you a chance but you chose to not take it. You instead turned around and betrayed him. Even if I wanted to give you guys a chance, I’m afraid you’ll do the same over and over again. So we will kill you here and today." She said coldly.

You are just a measly female who survives off her mate’s hardwork and sweat! Don’t speak like you are truly something!!! If that’s the case, why don’t you let this snakes withdraw and see if we won’t deal with you in a heartbeat." The cheetah beastman spoke venomously.

You wish to battle me? Now that’s interesting!" Sydney said with a laugh.

Stop speaking nonsense. If you dare, let one of us battle your mate. If we are defeated, i will let you take my female and kill me but if I defeat your male, then you’ll let me take my female away." He declared.

Why are you struggling so hard for? Do you think you’ll be successful?" She asked with a sneer.

What are you worried for? It’s not like I asked you to become my mate! All I want is to win my mate back and I’ll leave. If I’m unable to, then kill me." He said.

Sydney fell into silence for a while. His suggestion wasn’t bad. Those that could fight and win their mates back were worthy and deserving of a second chance. Those who had died had already returned to Core and nothing could be done for them.

Okay. I agree to your suggestion. One of my mates shall battle any one who wishes to take their mates away. If they win, they can keep their lives and their mates, if you die...well, your fate has already been sealed." Sydney agreed.

She was already lucky that these beastmen weren’t talking about their fallen family members, but that was also reasonable since to beastmen, their females were everything. Children were pride and a means to grow closer to their mates so...their death wasn’t that big of a deal for them. They could give birth to others in the future!

Sydney communicated with one of the fastest snakes and had him rush to find Ash and the others to tell them about the development on her side.
