Chapter 176: Sydney’s arrival

In the city of Beasts, Ash and the rest were restlessly waiting for Sydney’s feedback.

Should we set out?" Shawn asked anxiously. His heart felt unsettled and his beast was the same.

We wait." Ash said resolutely. There was no need for them to move without Sydney’s signal.

"Okay."

As it neared the first quarter of the night, a snake beastman came into the city lord’s residence through the back door. When he found the strong and profound beasts waiting, he lowered his head.

What news do you have?" Enzo asked.

The plan to move out is in two days. Missus said that they’ll be dealing with those traitors tomorrow sunset." He reported word for word..

Okay. You may leave." Ash sent the snake beastman off and turned to look at the others present.

The night didn’t last long before the next morning came in without a hitch.

True to Ray’s suspicion, there were spies in the city and Sydney had sent out a few snakes to deal with them.

It was only during midday that report came back to her. All the spies had been killed.

It was their turn to move!

I heard there’s a city a few thousand kilometers from here." A beastman spoke and all those around him turned to him with full attention.

What does elder plan to do?" Another asked cautiously.

We will set out and see if we can take over that city. I can’t let my lady love in such a place." The beastman said .

True...our lady needs to reside in a place that’s worthy her."

With this, I’m sure my lord will finally win her acknowledgement and mate with her." Another said.

Everyone present nodded their heads in agreement. Their lord had sacrificed alot to save her ladyship from the disaster, she would be extremely grateful to him and mate with him.

We will set out in a few days." The lord said and stepped out of the small stone house.

When the other beasts saw him, they bowed their heads in greeting when they saw him walk past them. This was the beastman who deserved their praise and worship.

Lord Marvin of the Wing city. He walked around not in the least hiding his pride seeing all those looks of worship directed to him.

It happened that his luck struck it rich ..if that man had still been around, he wouldn’t have gotten a chance to live in this glory.

At the moment, the different beasts under the Wing city had settled in a small village settlement that was initially abandoned.

Marvin reached the clan head’s stone house and knocked gently afraid he’d shatter the delicate female inside.

Come in." A soft voice travelled out and Marvin walked in with a gentle smile.

Are you hungry?" He inquired looked nf around the house.

No. I just want to find a better place to stay and rest. I’m tired from this long journey." The female was exceptionally spoilt and knew how well to use her charms on these beastmen.

I’m sorry you have to go through this trouble. There’s a city up ahead. Me and the warriors plan to take over. There’ll surely be a better place for you. If you don’t like it, then I’ll personally construct the ones that you like." He spoke dottingly his expression as though he’d sacrifice the world for just her.

Really? What if that city lord is strong?" She asked trembling a little.

Shhhh, don’t worry yourself over this. I’ll definitely conquer that city for you. Trust me!" He assured her but even though he was calming her down, he didn’t have the prevailage to touch her soft supple skin. He could only gulp down his urges and hold on, just like any man!!!

On the evening of the first day before the attack, around five hundred beastmen some of whom were kings, chiefs akd capable warriors were poisoned by the spotted snakes. Even the leaders from the northerns weren’t able to survive under the onslaught of these deadly snakes.

What’s going on?" A few of tje surviving leaders asked as they jumped around chaotically to avoid the snake bites. It was useless wherever they went, only those that could fly were lucky enough to escape off into the skies and only watch this large scale slaughter from up there.

In just over two hours, dead bodies carpeted the forest floor.

What is this?!!"

All our clansmen have died!!!"

Was this some sort of plan from those city beasts???"

See how we won’t annihilate them all to pay for the lives of our people!!"

Many among the northerns were bellowing in anger but not daring to come down since those spotted snakes were still slithering at the forest floor.

They could have run off but their females who were in those stone houses couldn’t leave either as they were surrounded by thousands of snakes making their mates die from fury and agitation.

I think I know who is behind this!!!" A falcon elder spoke up drawing all the others attention.

You know? Why did you not warn us before?" A northerner king bellowed. He was riding on the back of a hawk from the northerners.

Mind your words when you talk to me! This is our territory and you are all just being sheltered. I chose to take your side but that doesn’t mean you can talk to me like I’m a kid you can order around!!"

Hey..please..let’s not fight amidst ourselves!!!" Another beastman who was riding on the back of a vulture spoke.

Yes..we should be fighting our selves." Another chimed in.

Fine. As I was saying, I know who could have done this!" The falcon elder spoke once again after slightly calming down.

Who?" A few of the surviving leaders from among those small northerner tribes that had joined the alliance asked seething.

The city lord’s house, to be exact, the city lord’s female." The falcon elder spoke and the whole place fell into silence.

What!!!" The first one to recover from shock voiced his disbelief.

What? A female?!"

She’s so vicious!!"

How did you all survive under the rule of such a leader and his female!!?

Even if she were pretty, o would accept such a female, I’d rather die single!!!"

The northerners all spoke up and berated Sydney even if they had never seen her.

The falcon elder could only look at them as if they were monkeys in a circus. He laughed.

What’s funny Elder?" One chief asked seeing the falcon elder laugh.

Hahah..don’t mind me. I just find you guys laughable." He couldn’t help gwaffing out loud.

This is a serious matter we are dealing with right now why are you laughing?" A vulture asked.

Whether she poisons the whole beast world till no beast lives, no one would say a words about it. Infact, if the whole lot of you saw her, you’d willingly drink posion if she offered it to you." The falcon elder spoke.

The survivors were stunned silly.

Is that why you insisted on us eliminating the males from the city lord’s house? It was all for that female?" One chief asked curiously.

How is she related to the snake attack, please don’t divert from the main point." Another chief chidded.

Right...her other mate is a snake lord, apart from the city lord who is a panther. Though that snake lord hasn’t been seen in a while, I’m sure, it was her who ordered those snakes to attack us. She along with her brother are beings one should be wary of, not only are they strong, they are extremely smart, smarter than ape beastmen and more sly than fox beastmen." The falcon elder spoke with a laugh.

Since things had come to this, he knew without question that, that female was around somewhere and she just hadn’t stepped out. He had been there when she personally battled and killed a tiger beastman when she had just come to their city. From that moment on, he had eyes for only her and his purpose for jiing forces with the enemy was to get a chance to become her mate once all her former mates had been dealt with.

Sadly, he has taken a wrong gamble and now, he was between a tigers jaws, waiting to be swallowed.

When those chiefs heard of the city lord’s female’s power, they were stunned!

Her mate was a snake lord and she was brave enough to walk out and order tens of thousands of snakes to do her bidding!!!!

So scary!!!!!

Just as their minds whirled around, an eagle silhouette could be seen in a distance and many managed to catch the red haired female on the eagle’s back as they approached them.

Those whose vision was better off were stunned stiff. Infact, a hawk fell from the sky unable to maintain his composure. Too bad, he didn’t think he’d be falling to his death just by casting Sydney a look.
