With Enzo’s words, everyone fell into deep contemplation.

Let’s return to the city first. Sydney should he waiting for us." Ash didn’t take those people to heart at all.

The group rushed back to the city. When they arrived at the city gate, Ash wasn’t surprised to find Sydney at the guard post waiting. "You’ve returned!!" She rushed over to them and only calmed down after ensuring that they were all alright.

Ash shifted and had Sydney sit on his back before their group raced back home. As Shawn prepared her meals, he countered for her what transpired and she couldn’t help but think. "That group is really something! They actually made a move on our people!!"

Ash and the other kings will deal with them, I just worry for the bigger clans..they might not be easy to handle. Engaging in diplomatic talks is a no no for them."

Then...will we have to fight them? You said they are relatively stronger than those from our continent.

That’s indeed the case but although we very much like to protect our own, we can’t bare everyone’s weight on our shoulders. Everyone should be able to stand firmly on their own. I believe Ash and the others will do what is necessary for the survival of the city of beasts, if it comes to a point where we have to fight, then...."

Serve her food! I can hear her stomach growling from the entrance." Enzo said interrupting Shawn.

Okay. Food is almost ready." Shawn nodded and checked on the fire one last time before he reached for a bowl and prepared another plate to place her food.

Enzo...Ray told me you come from the northern continent, is it true?" She asked.

Mm." Enzo nodded as he took a seat besides her. "Tell me about them." She requested.

It’s not that different from this city of beasts, I can only say that they are slightly stronger in comparison."

If we are to engage in battle, what are our odds of winning?"

It’s should go for fifty fifty of those below the seventh rank but those above, our odds would fall as short as thirty percent. It’s because they have more ninth rank beastmen amd those that are over the tenth rank also can go up to a hundred."

That many!!! Right, do you know anyone from those coming from the northern continent?" She asked hopefully. If they could attain allies their odds wouldn’t fall so short.

Enzo looked at Sydney and gave thought to if he should tell her about his origin. Though it was his past one tjat ue didn’t want to carry on with him, of those from the northern continent hailing from his clan saw him, it would then be inevitable to act otherwise.

Really!! Then that means we can have a way to bring the eagle clan to our side right?" She was estatic but on seeing Enzo’s conflicted expression, she calmed down and inquired. "Did something happen?" She asked.

Mm, I’m not sure we’ll be able to bring them to our side but I’ll do my utmost best. I’m also unsure whether those that I’m familiar with are still alive or even in power." He said

Sydney nodded in agreement. That’s, indeed true, from her memory,she has met Enzo and the others in different occasions and from that time on, they followed after her and finally became mates. She died back then and it just so happened that they also restarted to their lives but with memories from that time each one of them with a trigger of their own. For those that they once knew to still exist would be a blessing of its own. Then, it meant they had to wait and see.

Are Greg and Kevin also from the same place as you?" She asked.

We are all from the same place." Enzo agreed.

Then we can ask them too to see if there’s anyway they can bring powerful allies to our side."

Sure I’ll let them know." Enzo agreed.

Shawn brought over her food and Sydney downed it in a few bites.

Days went by and with each coming day, news of different tribes arriving came into the city wave after wave. Though they weren’t the entirely stronger clans, their power also couldn’t be estimated since even smaller clans had eighth and ninth ranked beastmen. Then what of the stronger tribes?!

As this news came in, those that were not happy with Ash’s administration also took the chance to find allies among the northerns. Faced with power, not many could stand firm and a good number started to offer gifts to the northerns.

This is completely getting out of hand!!!" The leopard king bellowed eyes red! The meeting room held not not even half of the former kings that resided in the city of beasts. It was as clear as day where Tue other kings had gone off to.

Leopard king...why stress yourself so much?" Ken asked completely unbothered by the different kings actions. Infact, even the wolf king had gone off to do the same.

Wolf Prince Ken, you can’t be nonchalant about this!! Poison is spreading from within!" Leopard king said gravely.

We’ll stand out ground. What they choose to do is up to them. Leaving the city is easy but coming back isn’t the same...you need not worry yourself too much.

Then...does the city lord have a plan for this?" The lion king asked expectantly.

Ash revealed a smirk that sent chills down the spines of the present kings. It was right for them not to betray the city of beasts in the face of power.

Out side the city of beasts.

Sydney looked at the densely packed snakes that surrounded her and couldn’t help trembling a bit. She had been daring enough to try this method out but she didn’t expect it to work out just fine.

I’ve gathered everyone Missus." A seven foot long snake hissed at Sydney and she got the message through her mind.

Thanks." She expressed her gratitude. Apparently, she wasn’t their king but with her connection with Titan, she could enjoy an advantage of requesting them to do something for her. It was all thanks to Core that she was able to pull this through.

You all are currently aware of what’s transpiring in our lands, right?" She asked and all the snakes nodded while releasing hissing sounds. Then I called you all over to request for your help on something."

Anything for Missus." They all agreed.

Okay then it’s like this..." Sydney explained her plans to the snakes available and they all listened attentively. After elaborating on the plan, each and everyone of them moved and formed three different groups each group compromising of a specific area of expertise.

One group had potent poison that it could kill any beastman below the tenth rank in a mere thirty minutes, the other group was good a concealing themselves that beastmen wouldn’t be able to notice their presence, the third group were more qualified in terms of brute force and would he able to bring over a few more underlings for their Missus.

Sydney looked athe three groups and nodded in appreciation. At least she could also do something in a situation like this and not have to sit idly at home.

Okay. You can move out now. I’ll be waiting for your good news same time tomorrow." She said and sent off her small army.

Ray and Caden stood a few meters away from her and could only shake their heads. When she suggested this, they were very apprehensive about her actions since Titan wasn’t present and more so that she sought to deal with mere beasts who were more inclined on living by their instincts.

But seeing her actually command beasts to do her bidding was a refreshing sight.

Sydney turned to face Ray and Caden and was as proud as a peacock, infact, her expression was asking for praising at Tue moment.

Ray laughed and walked from her side before patting her head. You did great! This way, you have saved us a great deal of energy."

See, I told you I could pull it off." Her nose was high up in the sky.

Traitors could only be dealt with ruthlessly even if they were their own!

Ray looked on into the distance and felt his heart hammer against his chest. He too would soon be meeting with his family after so many years...the question is whether they still lived or even recognised him at all.

Caden went to move a few boulders to construct a temporary shed for Sydney as they waited for news from those snake beasts.

The night fell and meat was roasted on their fire outside the temporary shed. Caden glared into the distance and caught a few snakes slithering over. They were back so soon!!!! He called Sydney out and she dashed over to receive the news.

Missus!!" A black snake called out anxiously.

What? You are back so soon!!"

Missus, I had to return to pass this information to you. In two days, there’s going to be an attack to the city from the mountain regions. A few of the smaller clans have gathered and formed an alliance, also the witch master of your city and a few other kings have given information about the city to those northerns."

Really!! Then what has group C done about it?" Sydney asked.

They plan to attack when they rest tonight and the whole village has been surrounded."

Mm, deal with all the stronger ones first but tell them to move tomorrow not tonight."

Eh?" Sydney asked.

There’s a likelihood that they won’t be resting tonight. If they are drawing plans of attacking, I’m sure they already have spies inside the city, we can only catch them off guard." Ray suggested.

Mm, that makes Sense. Go back and tell them to wait to move." Sydney agreed with Ray’s plan. The little snake looked between Ray and Sydney and only nodded after getting Sydney’s approval.
