Beauty's Beasts
Chapter 162: You reek

Chapter 162: You reek

Sydney walked out of the stone house not long after completely breaking the bizarre atmosphere. Her drowsiness immediately faded as she looked at the two seemingly opposing sides.

One group was her children and the other were her mates.

The air was tense as if they’d break into a fight at anytime?! What’s going on?

Mommy you are awake!!" Lilly immediately pounced over her fierce and dominering side gone. She nestled herself in Sydney’s embrace and the latter laughed. Mm. Are you hungry?" Sydney asked holding the little dolls face in her palms.

A little." Lilly took this opportunity wholly. She’d stick to her side and see if those incapable men had the ability to outwit her.

Okay. " Sydney said and looked up only to see blank expressions on the men’s faces. Her eyes scanned through them only to find that two were missing. Where’s Caden and Ken?" She asked with a frown.

They went to deal with something and will be back." Ray said, sighing as he walked off to do some cooking.

Did they leave together?" Sydney inquiries. They had left the Horned beast tribe with assiliants hot in their tails, it wouldn’t be right for anyone of them to travel alone.

We’ll go look for them." Enzo said and looked at Greg and Kevin. You guys stay here. I’ll find Ken first." He said and turned to leave. The other two didn’t oppose him and decided to stay behind.

They glanced over at Sydney.

Ever since she regained a considerate amount of memories, she’d hadn’t really taken them to heart. If one could count, the number of times she had looked over at them could be counted on one hand. They were naturally depressed but didn’t dare voice that out. What right did they even have?

Frost." Sydney called and the white haired boy walked over to her side, his cheeks flushed so hard that his face was entirely red.

An itch to tease this son of her arose in Sydney’s heart yet she chose to spare the latter.

Odd as it may sound, her heart and soul had already accepted the fact that she was the mother of these children even if it wasn’t her that exactly birthed them. It was another her that was considered to have given birth to them, so what wrong was it in taking finished good?! Nothing!

Even if she wanted to deny, those forest green eyes that were no different from her own told her multitudes.

Mother." Frost walked over. Can you help me tend to Lilly for a while. I’d like to speak to your.. other daddy for a while. " she expressed her intentions.

But...." Lilly was already jumping in place.

It’s alright. I just want to talk to them for a short while and I’ll be back. Now Lilly, be good and don’t casue trouble." Sydney ruffled the little girl’s red hairs into a mess and left with a laugh.

Even mom can tell that you are a bundle of trouble even if we have only been together for hardly a day." Frost pointed out before scooping Lilly to sit in his forearm.

That’s because you three didn’t stop snitching on me last night!!" Lilly was entirely enraged. Her brothers hadn’t held back in talking about all the things that Lilly had done growing up. It was chaotic.

Mommy deserves to know. She wasn’t there when we were growing up so it’s only reasonable." Lin walked over and pinched Lilly’s nose.

Mm, I won’t hold you guys accountable for this matter but there won’t be a second time." Lilly was dead serious and Lin and the others expressions also changed.

They were clearly her older brothers but this girl was a little too much? They didn’t know how well to handle her much less accomkiher mood swings.

Sydney walked a few hundred of steps out of the village only to halt and hide immediately.

On a stone boulder, Greg and Kevin were seated with solemn expressions on their faces. Sigh... Kevin sighed. "I’m honestly happy to see her again but this isn’t how I had imagined it to be."

Right .. I feel so distant from her. Almost like she’s a completely different person who incamt entangle myself with. It’s be hard to even think that I and her have a pair of cubs with her." Greg muttered but his voice wasn’t low. Even Sydney who was hiding could perfectly hear him.

What’s the best option for us? I mean, look at Ray, according to his words, he has stated by her side for a long time but she didn’t even cast him a second glance. What more us?"

She’ll come around. Her memory just returned." Kevin was still a little hopeful.

We are being too greedy already! It’s already a miracle she is here before us ..what more can we want or desire?" Greg asked.

To be with her like before! Those days..they were magical!!" Kevin said his mind sinking down the memory lane.

Ray walked and walked for the whole morning. Since this Palace had been abandoned for a while and a large number of beasts were migrating, most prey had run off far off.

In short there wasn’t much food available. With that matter aside, Lilly words had really ticked him off alot that he wanted nothing to dlet off some steam. Also a deep sense of dread filled his heart as his mind replayed Lilly’s words over and over again.

Beast souls birth the mate bond among beastmen, for the normal animals, it’s already decreed but not absolute. Spirit beasts are the same as beastmen being joined together by a mate bond.

So...when Lilly came to find me that time...she asked for my beast soul...was she already aware of this effect? Also, was she so confident of truly receiving her! He hadn’t given it much thought at that time and even when his beast soul was being taken out from him, he was in praise of Lilly as the bond between them that had snapped created great agony to them.

But if she had been confident didn’t that mean this was planned out? When she returned, they’d have no connection with her ever again! Then why did she throw me into the beast city where Sydney resided?

This was very puzzling but Lilly that small girl, honestly creeped him out and he had a strong urge to smash her to death. But could he? Moreover where were such murderous thoughts coming from?

Hiss~

Ray jumped from his spot as something shot over like a lightening strike dodging it by a mere breathes time.

Looking back where he had initially been standing, he couldn’t help his hairs raising as he shuddered. The patch of grass had actually been burnt black and the patch wasn’t small, it was as wide as a hundred feet or so.

Ray’s eyes shot to the direction where the attacker was and he wasn’t surprised. But that also didn’t mean he’d ignore the danger warnings racing through him.

On a three hundred metres wide tree was a huge brown snake with a horn on its forehead. It’s colour fully merged with that of the tree bark that it’d be hard to notice it but also hard to go unnoticed.

He had been lost in his own thoughts that he had wandered off a little too far and he had apparently stumbled upon beastmen arch enemy. The spirit beasts!

His eyes scanned around the area to see if there were any other of this snake’s clansmen but there were none. He sighed in relief and turned his attention to the enormous snake. The horned python. If it had been considered lucky and had two horns then it’d have had the chance of becoming a drago but unfortunately, it didn’t seem to fall under that category.

The horned python was also glaring hard at the beastman who had crossed over into its territory.

Scam!" It spat those few words making Ray’s lips twitch like mad!

He wanted to retaliate but when his eyes shot at the burnt field of grass, he swallowed his poisonous tongue. He looked back at that snake, if it had wanted to kill him, it’d have actually been successful but it had let him off.

Thank you for sparing my life." Ray expressed his gratitude.

The snake looked him up and down before rolling its eyes. It had only acted since he had crossed into its territory. But this male was peculiar! Lion beastman?" He asked. Though Ray had no tail and ears and he was in his human form which would he hard for others to notice, the snake noticed this.

Yi?! Ray was astonished. "How did you know?" He asked.

You reek." The snake spat and turned to coil itself around the tree.

Meanwhile, Ray lifted his hand to sniff himself. Of course he was a lion but not to bthe point of reeking of lion scent! His beast had already been lost! So how was it....wait!!!

He sniffed himself one more time a little more aggressively and his eyes rounded in shock. He reeked of Lion beastmen scent!!! How...how was that possible?!"
