Ken remained silent all the way and couldn’t bring himself to ask but his gaze on Ray was drilling.

Seriously, instead of looking at me like that I’d prefer you ask!" Ray groaned ignoring the pain as he walked forward back to their camp base.

That girl....who is she? Why does she look like our mate. Is she the one that made Sydney fall into shock? So that’s Lilly?! What was she doing here? How come she walking on her own!? How do you know her?! Is she the one who beat you up!?" Ken asked quarter of the questions he had in mind.

Yes, she is Lilly. As for the other questions, you don’t need to know." Ray said and limped forward.

You said I should ask." Ken ran after him and probed.

That didn’t mean I was supposed to answer all your questions." He dismissed him and continued to walk.

If you don’t tell me I’ll go and tell on you." Ken threatened.

Sydney had been pure the first time they mated with her and Shawn confirmed that matter, but how come there was a girl that looked exactly like her to point of mistakening her for Sydney! There had to be something behind this matter and he would know of it either through peaceful means of harsh coercion!

Ray stopped in his tracks and glared at Ken before smirking evilly.

Ken sat by the fire with blue and black bruises all over his face. He was looking so sour but the others were hardly holding back their laughter looking at his state.

Well deserved! They all thought.

How’s the meat!?" Shawn walked over with a stone bowl and asked.

It’s almost done." Ken replied and stirred a little while also check on the fire. He looked really pitiful but no one felt sorry for him. He was clearly asking for it.

The front is all clear. We can proceed at noon." Ray said to Caden who nodded.

Where did you get that medicine? It works like a charm!" Caden was curious. As soon as it was brought over, since she couldn’t chew it, they had boiled it and fed her the medicine despite being skeptical. However, knowing that Ray wouldn’t do anything to hurt Sydney, they trusted him and the outcome was positive.

She had woken up in mere minutes and she wasn’t with a fever and the redness on her neck also cooled down alot.

Naturally, they knew the forest was blessed with many magical herbs and things but it all came down to knowing which was for what occasion.

His explanation at that time was the he knew about that herb because he had been in his own for a long time and he encountered alot of situations that called for him to treat himself.

Then, I’ll keep a close eyes out to see if I can also find that sort of herb. We don’t know when we’ll find Titan and it’ll come on handy." Caden made a mental note others agreeing silently.

Sydney walked out of the make shift tent and looked around to see that all her mates were busy here or there. Her heart had calmed down and anger had subsided alot.

When they saw her, they came crowding to her. "You shouldn’t have come out now!" Ray cautioned.

Yes. You were running a fever the whole night." Caden felt heart ache. She looked better compared to last night but she was still not in her best if conditions.

I understand. But I feel uncomfortable so I’m going to look for a stream to shower then we can continue on our journey. The earlier we leave, the sooner we return home." She said with a smile she hadn’t graced them with since Titan’s departure.

I’ll take you over to the stream." Ken offered completely ignoring his ugly and swollen face.

What happened to you!?" Sydney was already seeing him in this state. She rushed over and checked on his face.

Haha...as a male, I have thick skin. This is completely nothing to me." Ken boasted. He had wanted to use this to get in her good books but remembered she was angry at them he could only swallow his grievances.

Who beat you up?" She asked scanning through the others scrutinisingly.

I walked into a tree." Ken said seriously.

Shawn couldn’t hold it in. "pffftttt...haha!!"

Ray was ready to have an earful but he didn’t expect Ken not to report him. He cast his eyes down.

Sydney looked at Ken weirdly. He actually got beaten up and didn’t report the culprit! "Come, we shall go to the stream together." She invited him making his heart feel sweet all over.

She still favoured the weak in the family! He should get beat up more in the future! Mm, that’s right!!

Caden please go and keep an eye out." Ray suggested and he didn’t object to it. Ken was indeed a little unreliable! He took on his eagle form and shot to the skies after letting out a screech.

He saw her!" Ash couldn’t help but ask as soon as the others were away.

It should be better to say that she let him see her." Ray was helpess and found himself a stone to sit on.

The what was his reaction? I won’t buy that story you told us earlier." Shawn said solemnly.

What else!? He nuged me for answers and I beat him up! He should already have a clue but he won’t be able to connect it." Ray grumbled at the later part.

And you are saying she was on her own! What of those boys!? They are the oldest so they should be with their sister." Ash’s face was twisted knowing Lilly was traversing the forest on her own.

That should be the least of your concern! At that time you died so I understand if you don’t know Lilly well enough. She should be fine! And besides, who is crazy enough to cross her!? Have you forgotten her father’s origin?!" Ray wanted to slap some sense in Ash.

Shawn was also aware of her gifts since she was the one who took his sight away. He might not have spent that much time with her but he was confident in her talents. Ray is right. Lilly should be the least of our concerns now. First we should focus on finding Titan and solving her issue. I believe we shouldn’t clash with the immigrants from the other side any time soon. Once this is settled, we return to the city."

Ash thought about it and nodded. Okay. Let’s focused on finding Titan before we return home. The outside is highly unstable at the moment. We should be careful." He added and the topic regarding Lilly was pushed aside

I’m wondering though...if Shawn retained his sight, and you are also alive...does that mean that the others are also alright? Are they looking for Sydney at this moment!?" Ray asked.

Somehow, I fear what the future hold for us.." Shawn didn’t hide his fears. If the others also knew that she was back and alright, then things would get a little chaotic, more so for Titan, Caden and Ken.

The others also thought about it and just that, they were blessed with a headache. "We will do our best to avoid them as much as possible!" Ray said and the others agreed. They’d avoid them as much as possible, where it was inevitable, they’d just face it head on. Lucky for them, Sydney had no recollection of this matter at all!

Sydney reached the stream with Ken and looked around. Nature in the beast word was at its fullest capacity as it hadn’t been tampered with by anyone. This stream wasn’t too deep nor shallow and the water was crystal clear that once could see that bottom of the stream which was full of colourful small stones and and fish as big as half an adults arm.

Unfortunately, she was done with a heavy breakfast and all she wanted was to wash up.

The smaller animals didn’t seem across of her and went about their busy morning. It was already the dry season and one could feel the effects of the sun in the morning.

She turned to Ken who was besides her and pulled his arm to squat down with her. "Tell me what happened!?" She asked not intending to let this matter pass by. Of course she didn’t buy his silly excuse of walking into a tree! Only fools would believe that.

I..." Ken wanted to insist with his life but her gaze made him unable to. I went out to hunt and found Ray had fought with a group of wolves. I also saved him from the herd of wilder beasts but when I asked for some credit..... He beat me up." He said half truth and half lies. He wanted to ask about this Lilly and if she knew her but held himself back.

Haha ..you guys are extremely prideful. Why did you ask for credit!?" Sydney felt they were being really playful.

Is it wrong?" Ken wondered.

"No. It’s just that you should have set your conditions before saving him that way, he’d have no grounds to beat you up." Sydney as she scooped over water in a small piece of fur cloth and washed his face. The water was warm from the scorching sun and o, it was just at the right temperature to wash his bruises.
