Chapter 132: Lost his mind.

That look startled all of them.

Clear golden eyes glaring back at the rest of the family, they had never seen Titan look at them that way.

Except Ash, all the others were chilled to their spines as they looked at Titan defensively.

Ash stepped back since he was the one holding Sydney but that single action caused the still Titan to also move.

His eyes weren’t friendly since he looked at Sydney like she was some sort of prey to him. It was dark and sinister.

What the fuck is wrong with him? Has he lost his mind?!" Ken couldn’t help feeling cornered. This kind of beast pressure was the first of its kind for all the years he had lived. And besides what had they done to anger him! They were innocent, okay!!!

If you ask me, who should I ask?!" Ray was closest and despite being a ninth rank, without his beast, he couldn’t hold up against such pressure. He initially had a great impression of Titan but the impression just crumbled from that single glare. That was hatred accumulated over millennia dancing in his eyes right there!

"I don’t know if my eyes are playing tricks but that look doesn’t seem to be locked on Sydney but us!" Shawn spoke and all the others observed Titan. He was the most sensitive and it was this trait that earned him a spot by her side in the past.

Sydney didn’t know how to feel about Titan’s odd behaviour. Initially, she thought it was alright if she was his target but if it were the others,...then her heart couldn’t settle. At the moment, he wasn’t himself and she believed she’ll still be fine but she couldn’t say the same for her other family members.

"Why is he suddenly attacking? I don’t understand!" Caden just couldn’t! Snakes showed such irritable behaviours when they were close to shedding their skins as they were highly guarded, ten times their usual selves.

But as far as he knew, the cold season was still months upon months away! So what was his problem. They wouldn’t act against him during that vulnerable time, as family, they’d protect him!

Titan on the other hand kept them locked as his target and their words seemed to fly past his ears unable to reach his subconscious mind.

"Cover me. I need to bring Sydney away." Ash instructed and the others agreed. It was better to face a mad snake when their mate was safe and sound. Even if it was merely buying time for them to escape

"Wait... there’s...I mean he was fine when I went to get him water. He said he’s going to shed his skin, maybe that’s why he is irritated!" She said panicking and all the others looked at her.

"So we are currently his enemies?" Ken cried out in disbelief. He knew snakes didn’t trust anyone at such a point. Any form of danger that approached him would be eradicated mercilessly.

"Not necessarily! Maybe he doesn’t trust you enough..but it won’t be the same for me! I’m his mate and he wouldn’t hurt me. How about you let me go check on him?" Sydney said but her words were suppressed with various cries of protest. "What do you mean by no! I’m his mate so he’ll naturally not hurt me!" She protested back.

’I’m against it!" Shawn was the first to speak.

"Me too! Just look at that predatory look in his eyes!" Ken protested. "He’ll not hesitate to shred you into pieces!"

"I’m sorry!" Sydney felt Ash’s apologetic voice float by her like a gentle breeze and before she could register his words and what he meant, he raised his hand to knock her out but in a flash, before his hand could strike, Titan moved to attack.

Titan propelled his body and shot forward but Ray jumped forward fearlessly to block Titan’s sharp nails that were attacking at Sydney’s position. He twisted Titan’s hand and locked it behind his back.

Shawn, Caden and Ken also acted. Despite having lower battle experience, they could atleast counter a few attacks from Titan.

Ash also realised the burst of power as the lethal attack came at him, he withdrew his initial attack on her and wrapped his hand around her waist tightly before he dodged back with her in his arms and jumped off the second floor seemlessly shifting mid air as he shifted Sydney to his firm back.

A shriek broke from Sydney as she was caught off guard but she wasn’t blind not to see that Titan was attacking her at that time. She watched as the sharp nails glittered with a cold light when she was pulled back, her eyes looked back at Titan and his eyes were still clear but the warmth he looked at her with was non existent.

The cry of beasts from the second floor were defeaning as those that remained did their best to suppress Titan and prevent him from leaving the second floor to give chase to Sydney.

The two lion brothers who were not home handling a few matters earlier ran into the house upon hearing the beast cries from inside but it wasn’t even close but they felt greatly suppressed. It was like their lungs had been squeezed and no oxygen could go through.

On the first floor, Sydney sat on Ash’s back in a daze in his beast form and looked up at the second floor worriedly.

On the second floor, Ray who was doing his best to subdue Titan felt a chill down his spine and before he could react, he was thrown off Titan’s snake body and Caden took a blow for him. The rattle like tip of Titan’s tail stabbed hard and deep into Caden’s back injection a deadly poison which broke a screech from him despite him being in his human form.

Ray skidded to a halt in shock as he hadn’t yet recovered from the near death experience and saw how badly injured Caden had become and his heart chilled in terror!

Sydney! His heart dropped. No..no...no...

They had an advantage over him since he hadn’t fully take on his beast form but with this development...

Ray ran out of the room since he could still sense Sydney’s presence in the room and true to his thoughts. The stab pain was felt by Sydney as she fell on Ash’s back with a pale face and a burning sensation in her back.

Sydney!" Ash was scared shitless since he felt her pain. He immediately shifted back to his human form and caught her to see what was wrong with her. His eyes shot back to the second floor and knew one of the others had been hurt and she received part of the blow.

He raged but couldn’t leave her side!

Ray was so angry that he couldn’t hold himself back. He rushed back into the room in huge range filled steps and sent a single fist towards Titan’s head as he was busy dealing with Ken after settling Caden just right.

It was a single punch but it was murderous. For a moment, he forgot that this could also be felt by Sydney but upon recalling that, his punch reduced it’s intensity and he smacked his head against the wall from what was initially a punch leaving a dent in the thousand years old rock. Luckily, he had learnt alot form her before and he knew where and how to knock out someone. It was his luck that Titan wasn’t a fully transformed snake and the impact was just right.

The danger warnings came late for Titan as his head made a dent in the wall breaking his skull in the process.

His eyes flickered once again but this time, he didn’t get a chance to do a thing before he tumbled and fell to the ground unconscious.

The battle drew the attention of the neighbouring residents as they felt the murderous aura in the air.

For whatever reason, none could think of the reason and the matter worsened when there was a strong scent of blood in the air. Their hearts plummeted to the ground.

If the city lord’s home was having such a fight....what if the matters regarding the city! If news broke out, there’d be an internal scuffle.

The migrating group.

In the group of beastmen who were just arriving at the base of the mountain from the other side of the destroyed Continent, an eye catching group of three males walked over and others subconsciously gave way for them.

"Are you sure it’s this way?" One of them asked his voice hoarse like he hadn’t spoken in a long time.

"This is much better than being hopeless... isn’t it?" The other asked tentatively.

"You didn’t really bother us based on mere hope! I saw her die with my own eyes!" The other was obviously not happy with this but he still found himself coming along. Though he had lost all hope, when this guy came to find him claiming that there was hope, his dead heart coildihelp but be ignited again. He was after all withering away in some mountain cave with no idea on how much time had gone by.

"I’m sure about this! If that weren’t the case, those children wouldn’t be making movements. You all know them!" His words got the other twos attention.

The one with the hoarse voice laughed. "I feel deeply ashamed for relying on our own children to find our mate! And that is if she really is back like....then....I’ll never let that mistake from before happen again! I might have lost his beast but I don’t regret it!" He said determinedly.
