With a pained expression, he traced his cold fingers over her neck.

Sydney looked at him and sighed. It was a little itchy and I found myself scratching it. Don’t mind." She tried to dismiss it but Titan wasn’t letting this matter go.

Why was it that only his mark was the itchy one. The others marks were perfectly fine! He drew her hair away and continued to observe it with a glare.

Hey! Stop glaring this is mine okay!" She swatted his hand away.

I’m sorry..." He apologized. He also had no idea why her neck was red! But since it was around his mate mark, the it definitely had something to do with him.

You don’t have to apologize. Let’s go back and sleep... If you don’t feel sleepy, let me accompany you here till you are no longer distressed." She said her voice fading as sleep over took her one more time.

Titan looked down at his mate and a helpless sigh escaped his lips. He couldn’t let her remain out here exposed to the cold and without regard to himself, he carried her back to he room.

On another continent in the Beast world.

In the depths of an ancient mountain, beyond where life could be seen, a pair of eyes shot open and with a huff of hot air, it emitted strong heat that even set the stone walls with a strong wave of heat.

The creature residing there forced itself on its feet and just that mere action sent the whole mountain shaking as if an earthquake just went by.

The other creatures living atop of the mountain stood in alert as they observed their surroundings. The weaker willed ones didn’t waste time and begun to leave the area while the stronger ones seemed to be attracted to come forth.

A lion along with other beasts ran forth ignorong the other animals that were fleeing for their lives.

What’s going on?" The lion asked with confusion. It had been so many years that he had almost forgotten.

An ancient bloodline seems to be awakening." A gorilla as huge as two buses combined spoke solemnly.

I wonder which clan is this lucky." Another beast spoke with slight envy in its eyes. It was a snake.

We all need to go back and prepare." A horned horse spoke and all nodded. Without question, they all ran back to their respective clans in preparation.

There were certain things they could only stand by and watch but not involve themselves in the least.

In a small clan in the desolate and dry east, serpent like beasts crawled out from the mountains with a lot of caution. They peeked outside and once they were site that the coast was clear, they came out and watched the night sky.

We didn’t hear it wrongly right?!" One asked it’s eyes glittering.

There’s indeed been movement but we can’t be assured it’s from our clan!" The other didn’t dare have high hopes.

As a legendary clan, they had been trampled to the ground to the point of not daring to get out of their homes without being vigilant.

We are only a mere branch of the main bloodline but we still are a part of them! I’m sure if that day comes, we will be able to walk around these lands with our head held high." The younger couldn’t take it seated.

It’s alright! That day will surely come but don’t pin your hopes on the near future. It’s utterly impossible."

As they chatted, a mighty roar could be heard spreading miles upon miles on their continent.

I have a feeling..." The little ones said with hopeful eyes.

Beast City.

The next morning, Titan was once again jolted from his sleep beads of sweat dripping down his body.

The door to the bedroom was pushed open and Sydney ran in only to find a finely drenched Titan, it was like he had jumped out of the lake.

Earlier when she work, up she saw that he was slightly sluggish and he didn’t wake up at all. Normally when he slept, his eyes would remain open but for the first time, she saw his eyes closed and remembered the night mare he had. She didn’t wake him up and went to do her things only to feel the seering pain on her neck.

Hey!" She ran to his side and wiped the sweat from his face. He was a cold blooded beastmen and he didn’t sweat no matter what he did. But at this time, he had a slight temperature and he was warming up.

Are you sick?" She asked as she searched his eyes.

Titan wanted to laugh. He wasn’t sick but seeing how worried he was, he shook his head and kissed her forehead to remove the wrinkles that were forming.

Seems like I’m entering my shading phase." He said lightly. He also had no idea what was happening to him and he could only connect it to his shedding phase.

Is it always like this?" She asked with concern.

No." He shook his head. It’s slightly different this time but I’ll be fine." He assured her seeing how she frowned learning it was different.

Is it because we mated!?" Sydney could only relate to the recent changes. Before she met him, he was perfectly fine but now, after getting together with her, it surely had to do with her.

It’s unrelated. Don’t worry. I’ll be fine. Probably something’s up with my body. I’ll need time to figure it out."

You can’t be posioned, right?!" He had the most potent posion, his body could only act up if he was posioned but who would poison him?!

I’m probably going to shed. Don’t fret over this. " he said not wanting her to wreck her mind over this matter.

He pushed himself out of bed intending to go do something but as soon as his legs touched the ground, he realised he lacked energy in his limbs. He frowned.

Sydney had gotten off the bed intending to help him down but saw him pause. is something wrong?" She asked coming to him again.

No, I’m fine. Can you get me some water please?" He requested weakly.

Sydney dashed outside seeing him in that state.

Titan laughed her her dashing figure but his smile died when she was out. He tired to push himself to his feet but landed in the ground feeling boneless. His hamds felt his legs but they had no feel to them. He shifted his legs into his tail and was still examining when Sydney ran back inside the room.

Along with her came the others who were concerned.

Are you alright?" Caden was the first to ask. He walked towards Titan but before he got close than ten feet, Titan ferociously hissed at him with murder intent startling Sydney who was just Infront of Caden.

With a cry, the cup fell out of her hands to the ground and she fell back.

Caden was also caught off guard but he managed to hold Sydney on time and stepped back away from Titan.

His murderous intent attracted the others attention and they all ran into the house stopping right outside the bedroom.

Sydney was still in Caden’s arms shocked at Titan’s sudden change. she had clearly only gone out to get water but to come back and find him in this state...she could only but her lower lip.

Her neck was as though it had been set on fire but she ignored that sensation as her eyes that were full of worry were locked on Titan. Luckily, she had worn an up neck shirt and the others couldn’t see the state of her neck.

Titan on the other hand shook his head. Sydney had said that he was poisoned and he didn’t think that was the case but now, he was considering that fact. But when! He wanted to ask but the fire in his body didn’t allow him, the only sound he could produce were constant loud hisses as his body twisted on the ground. Luckily, the bedroom was wide enough and the only thing that was in danger of getting smashed was the stone bed.

Titan...." Sydney bit her lip till it drew blood. He was in pain!!! Let me go!" She tried getting out of Caden’s hold but he refused and drew her closer to himself.

Don’t! He’s unstable.."

But he is in pain!" She fought to pluck his hands off.

I know...but there’s nothing you do now. He could accidentally harm you."

Ash came over and carried Sydney into his arms completely ignoring her protests. "What are you guys doing, let go!" She raised her voice.

Her yell successfully drew the writhing Titan’s attention. He stopped for a while and his clear slit eyes were locked on Sydney. It wasn’t in any way that he was unstable. He hissed and smirked at her, his whole aura changing completely...almost, like he was a different person.
