Her talk with her friends didn’t last long before she bid her farewell to visit the school. Along the way, she had already grown numb to all the stares she was receiving.

The number of females is relatively higher along this path." She commented in passing as she walked alongside Caden.

It’s because the female families that weren’t residing in the inner part of the city had all been moved to the housing behind the snake clan." He wrapped his hand around her shoulder to sheild her from the others.

"Wow. Alot happened while I was out. I wonder how the cubs are doing." She pondered for a while before she let that thought go. She was going there to see them anyways.

They walked for a while alternating between her walking and Caden carrying her to sit on his arm. Indeed this part was more crowded than the others and activity was bustling everywhere from males pursuing the new females to the curious females that were going around.

They made it to school in time when the cubs had just returned from hunting. They didn’t notice her at first as they stood in lines with their prey. They were highly organized and seemed to have lost the baby like appearance. She looked over to Caden for explanation.

The teachers let them know of the circumstances happening in the city. Although they are currently young but their territorial integrity is really high and do not want to mingle with the newcomers. Not only that, a few clans that settled in the forest ranges have come into contact with them. The other cubs were a little unruly that angered these little fellows into becoming what they are now."

Didn’t you let them know of the city’s arrangements? Why let them bully my cubs!" Sydney was slightly enraged.

You don’t have to worry. The other party is the one that ended up being bullied. So your little ones are perfectly fine." He assured her. When that matter arose, he saw how these you g cubs fought viciously and subdued the other party. Bloodlines also played a big role and the training they had been undergoing was not for nothing. He was proud.

For a moment, he and the others thought that if Sydney hadn’t come up with such a system, how were they to organise the city in such a chaotic situation. Without doubt, all these cubs would have died one way or the other from being bullied by the outsiders or even die when they went hunting.

Sydney had already run off to check on the cubs and like Caden said, they were perfectly fine. The youngest branch she was handling were also now able to hunt for themselves. Initially, it was because they were malnourished and their frames were skinny but after being cared for for a while, they had regained their vigour. Thoigh they were merely a year or two, their frames stopped just around her knee.

They surrounded her forgetting their current teacher and prey. They pounced on her happily.

Haha..you guys have gotten fatter!" She laughed raising one of the cubs on its hind legs. Even their bellies were round and full!

They came to rub on her then left for the others to also rub against her in an orderly manner without fighting for her affection but letting each one of them get a share.

It was like she was their mother!

The newcomers who were passing by couldn’t help but stop to look.

Ever since Sydney had been unconscious, some of the new females walked around with their noses high up in the sky proud about their beauty but their shows were plummeted by the existence of the most beautiful female. Many didn’t believe it but with many city dwellers talking about it, many had been curious and it was only today that they got to see her.

I heard she was the one that asked her mates to build this place. It’s called a school!" One female said from the side with an envious look. Although all she could see was her side profile, she did not need to be told that she was extremely pretty.

What’s so great about this place? Isn’t it because she can’t birth her own cubs that she went around collecting those that had been thrown away?" One female with dirty brown hair spoke loudly that even Sydney who wasn’t minding them caught snippets of those words.

She was speechless! She had children okay! Wait..what? When did I get children? Her head buzzed for a moment but stopped soon.

Hey! Don’t speak ill of her!"

Why? What’s so special about her?! Even if she’s beautiful, does that mean I can’t speak about her!?"

She’s the city lord’s female! Be careful lest she asks her mate to throw you out of the city!" When those words rolled of someone’s lips, all the others who were thinking of making trouble halted and give it thought.

This was indeed not their territory. If they annoyed the city lord, if he kicked them out after their efforts to get in, what would become of them?!

The female who said those words was so pissed that she turned to leave her face red in anger with her mates worried for their lives right behind her. If her other mates were here, what would she have to fear about that so called city lord’s female?!

The rule had been established and all the females that were allowed into the city were only to be with two of their mate’s. The others had to stay out of the city and hence, the feminist loved males got the chance.

Her clan didn’t have a standing in the city and they also didn’t have any relatives inside the city! She had been treated with respect where she came from but was just underlooked here...she wasn’t to stand it!

Sydney ignored them and stood up to go check on the other cubs. The older ones didn’t rub against her as they just sent her greetings.

Lately, we have the first batch that’ll soon attain their human form. There was bound to be a celebration earlier but with what happened lately, we were only going to set up a small ceremony within the school." The teacher who was in charge of the older batch followed after Sydney to let her in on this matter, after all this had been her plan.

Sydney was happy to hear the development. Take me to see them." She wanted to see her first graduates!

When they reached the top most floor, she saw the small group of thirty eight seated on their butts and listening attentively. There were wolves, lions, tigers, leopards, bears, a few from the ape clan, others from the brid clan.

"How do you guys know it’s time for them to shift?" She asked in a hushed tone but she was heard loud and clear by all.

They personally feel it and also, their rank marks begin to become apparent." Caden explained. He pointed forward to an eagle whom he was familiar with. His feathers were brown but there were three dark brown distinctive line marks on his feathers.

"Woah...three marks!" She gasped

"Mm, he’s a strong one." Caden also noted. "It’s normally that one attains their human form with only one mark, others two and the rare ones with three." He further explained. He himself was among the most rare ones, he had four marks when he attained his human form.

When Sydney scanned among the others, she noticed that most had two marks, some one and there was a male who had completely no mark. She felt pity for him. Atleast she had an understanding of what those marks represented for the males.

If one was good and had high rankings, he had a chance to get back to his clan but if one wasn’t able to rank up or were inherently weak, they’d be pushed to become solitary animals which in most cases made them face their deaths earlier than their peers.

Shawn had also told her that he was a rare case. Despite his blindness, because he ranked up faster, even when he was disposed off by his family, no one dared to mess with him and he finally ran to serve in the city hall. He had been lucky to have the care of Ash’s parents, the former city lord and city lady so no one dared to bully him.

Caden noticed her line of sight and knew what she was thinking. Don’t worry! Scott knew all this before hand and set up a program to protect them as they grow their power. Don’t forget, we even have the mountain sky crystals, these rare cases won’t be a problem." He assured her.

She nodded in understanding and spent more time at school. She got to talk to those going males and learnt how excited they were. She was curious about what names they wanted for themselves and since she has saved them according to their teacher, they wanted her to select out names for them.

It was sudden but she was happy! The feeling was likely mutual since she also saw them as her own.

With that task at hand, she rushed back home to draft out names for them. She didn’t forget to get their class file from Scott’s home to find names according to their respective character traits.

Outside the city.

Titan stood still and he looked at the other side where the other party was also looking at him in a dead lock.

You sent your snakes to tail us. " Lilly exposed Titan making him embarrassed.

While he had indeed sent them, he didn’t expect her to notice that. Snakes were everywhere in the forest, to notice that his were special and they were actually tailing him, his image of Lilly grew.

It wasn’t with I’ll intent." Titan recovered his wits and spoke.

I know. I also wouldn’t have returned if that were the case. So what do you want?" Lilly asked domineeringly.

Her triplet brothers stood behind her not saying a word.

You are my mate’s children." He stated that to their face but none of them were surprised.

He’s quick to pick on." The youngest called Freddy commented. His forest green eyes locked on Titan.

"Your order is wrong. Before being your mate, she’s our mother. So yes, we are our mother’s children." Lilly said.

Titan almost chocked. He wanted to deny it but it was the truth. All he wanted to know was when she birthed them!? The female had a strong scent from the bird clan which meant her father was of the bird clan, the three young males clearly belonged to Ash since his scent on them was so strong to ignore.

You don’t have to get defensive with me. I was only curious as you know it’s inevitable." He told them.

Is it not to kill us?" Freddy asked boldly.

I wouldn’t dare!" Titan denies immediately. If they were her children then it meant they were his too. They were family.

Has your curiosity been sated?" The eldest who was the exact copy of Ash asked coldly. His name was Franklin but the others called him Lin or Frank.

Not yet but that can’t be left for another time. It’s dangerous out there right now. Why don’t you come to the city and stay there?" He suggested. Since they were his family, he automatically didn’t want them to face any danger. If Sydney learnt of it, she’d be deeply hurt.
