Chapter 101: It has begun!

It has begun. The old man on the floor pushed his stiff body off the ground while gritting his teeth. He had been seated in that position for a few decades now!

But now wasn’t the time to care about the pain in his body. He tried standing up but fell onto the ground. A groan escaped his lips as he endured the pain whilst panting. However, his time didn’t last long as he could hear faint footsteps coming from the cave entrance.

Oh no!!! Zery was here! His eyes widened in dread as she pushed himself back so that he was in the sitting position but it was futile. Seems like his body had reached its limits.

He gritted his teeth and closed his eyes. A glow poured out from his chest and time froze.

Zery was no different!

In the city of beasts, Sydney had just helped Titan poison the falcon king with paralysing poison.

She could hear the beast roars charging towards the falcon clan and the sound numbed her skull but there was no fear.

She had learnt from Sia sometime ago that the affairs of female battles were dealt amidst them! If the scuffle couldn’t be resolved by the females, their respective males would duel to death.

Sydney had no idea how many mates this female had since she was just a last minute plan but she was not worried.

However, as she moved the female Ash had helped her tie down, a cold breeze blew past ruffling her hair in the process. She frowned and turned to look at the window where the possible breeze might have blow through only to see that every single being, Titan and Ash inclusive frozen.

Her heart trembled and she looked at her own hands but she was actually able to move. Even Scott who had been woken up by the loud roars in the middle of the night was very much capable of moving. He frowned and walked out of his house and looked around. Everything seemed normal and the roar of the animals had also ceased. He felt no danger but the air seemed to have stopped moving. That was odd!

At the northern mountain, the Oldman managed to sit himself down in time ajd immediately broke the time loop. He saved himself but also didn’t let Zery catch in the abnormality! He shut his eyes and induced himself into his spiritual state.

Zery broke for a moment and was confused. He frowned and looked at his environment but didn’t probe much. "Seems the old man’s power is breaking faster than expected!" He mumbled and rushed over.

Sydney knew there was no way her eyes were deceiving her. She looked at everyone was finally freed from the weird occurance and how they looked around confused.

"What was that?" she whispered to herself but didn’t probe.

Shawn." Ash called out to Shawn who was surprised.

"Shawn?" Sydney was confused as she looked around but not for long as Shawn jumped into the room through the window like a rogue. Sydney frowned at the weird demeanor of Shawn.

Shawn looked at Sydney and smiled softly. His original demeanor returned and Sydney felt she was hallucinating, worse off because she was tired and needed some deep sleep.

The falcon king’s female who was tied up struggled to break free but she was unable to. In fact, the more she tried to free herself, the rope tied around her continied to tighten around her more. She grained in pain but that was all since Sydney had gagged her ruthlessly.

Titan released his aura all over the room to cover up the others tracks as he walked out of the falcon castle like he owned the place. All the residents of the palace were wide awake because of the scream that broke out in the middle of the night accompanied by the cry of wounded beasts. Everyone knew that sound and were out to see what was going on.

Titan put on his invisibility cloak and walked out of the place unseen. He could have walked around without a care and exposed himself but he hated implicating Sydney the most.

Falcon Castle.

The falcon female’s other mates arrived at the scene where they had entrusted their mate’s safety only to find the place in shambles with the falcon King subdued.

One male walked over and checked on the falcon king then frowned. He’s paralysed but not dead." he said and all the others nodded in understanding.

"There’s a strong smell of a snake beastman here!" One male informed after sniffing the place. While Titan had disguised this place with a very pungent smell, it didn’t seem enough to cover up his beastly scent.

Snake beastman?" One male with a rough forehead and sharp eye brows frowned. It was useless for him to try sniffing since his sense of scent was terrible.

Whats so surprising? Don’t you know that had been trying to loop the snake lord over? It’s only the snake lord who can do this!" A male warrior pointed out.

"Are we confronting him?" Another asked fearfully.

While they might not have known about Falcon king’s plans all this while, because of their female, they were forced to compromise and support him unconditionally but that didn’t mean that they didn’t know how he openly provoked the City lord’s household.

We have no fights with the snake king. All we need is our female." another spoke up and they relatively nodded. As long as they got their female, all would be good!

The city had been woken up a little earlier than usual and many of the beastmen didn’t bother going back to bed. News about the disappearance of the falcon king’s female had spread and the lead suspect was Titan.

Sydney walked into the sitting room and intended to walk up to her own room but was stopped by Titan.

"Why did you do that?" He asked. He justt need to understand because no matter how he thought about it, he couldn’t come to a conclusion.

Sydney sighed and turned to look at Titan blankly . "You knew that Shawn was attacked. You knew who attacked. But what did you do? you not only refused to tell me when I gave you the chance to talk but also left to handle this matter without sharing your plans with me. Now..tell me Titan, what right do you have to question me? What right do you have to be angry with me?" she raised her left eye brow at him.

Titan stood in his place and quietly listened to her speak. Ash and Shawn didn’t dare open up their mouth to say a word.

Caden and Ken who were in their room rushed out upon hearing the commotion from the living room.

Titan charged forward and did what no beastman would even dream of doing. He didn’t back down from her scolding and faced her head on. "I do have every right to be angry and question you. Not only did you sneak out of home in the middle of the night but you also went into a male’s home at night. Sydney, us not telling you doesn’t validate your actions. We are your males and there are things that are bound to be handled by us. As our female, out duty is to make you happy and have no worries."

"What?" Ken felt his ears bleed. Sydney.."he called out to her in disbelief. "Did you really sneak out in the middle of the night?"

Sydney cast Ken a look before her eyes fell back on Titan. He wasn’t backing down.

"Let’s not fight over this .." Ash wanted to mitigate this matter but Titan shook his head stubbornly.

"No is sleeping without resolving this conflict!" Titan walked towards Sydney who was still tongue tied.

I’m the head of the family! I should know what goes on in and out of our home." Sydney mumbled.

"And no one intended to keep it from you! The matter with the falcon king was bound to be resolved sooner than later. His actions were reckless but Shawn didn’t suffer any injuries. Either way, we were going to get an explanation from him and after let you know!"

I....you never told me and chose to handle this in my own!" She muttered.

Then what are we for? Decoratives?" Ken who finally grasped the concept of the talk couldn’t help asking. In his eyes, Sydney was the warrior kind of female! The main reason why he fell for her! She was strong and independent! He loved that about her but he also understood there would come a time where she’d need his help! That would be his greatest honour! No matter how mundane the task around home had been, seeing her relax and rely on him was more than enough! Her letting him do something was all he wanted!

"What do you mean by that?!" Sydney frowned at how Ken termed them.

"Isn’t that what we are? Decoratives! We only recently managed to kick you out from our household chores! Not long, you go out in the night to do what? Fight?! Then what use do we have if even the thing we are good at is being snatched away by you! You are not even considering the consequences of your actions! Why should you anyway? You know we will come running to you like headless chicken!"

"That’s being rude you know!" Sydney felt every word that Ken said jab at her. Of course she was courageous enough to step out that late because she knew these guys would find her if she ever ran into trouble.
