Chapter 102: First fight.

Chapter 102: First fight.

"Can we not fight please?!" Caden walked towards Titan and requested.

"Who is fighting?" Sydney asked as she looked at Titan then Ken. "I’m tired. I’m off to bed." she said and turned to leave the sitting room.

They could only watch helplessly as she went off to her room. Unlike the usual days, Sydney shut the door to her room with a loud bang.

Caden flinched and looked up to the second floor. He shook his head.

No one was willing to talk and everyone returned to their respective rooms.

Sydney lay in her bed for a while till she finally gave up and fell asleep. Her mates didn’t sleep at all.

The next morning.

Sydney woke up earlier than usual. She didn’t idle around and went down stairs to get busy. She had the falcon king’s mate with her but also had to go to school.

However, when she walked down stairs, she was surprised to see that the house was empty. She looked back up but it seemed she was all alone in the house.

Right! She fought withthem last night!

However unreasonable her claims were, she was the kind that would do anything to protect those she cared for.

She had grown up as her father’s Princess and his replica. He was a head strong man and she grew up desiring to be like him. However, her father was always away in business and her next best option was her big brother.

With a sigh, she walked over to the kitchen and made her breakfast and sat down on the stone kitchen island to eat. Once she was done, she washed her food bowl and left the house.

Since it was the early morning, male beastmen were the one loitering around coupled with last night’s event, many were still talking about it.

No one dared approach her. Though she usually left with all her mates tailing her, even being on her own made it difficult for them to approach her. They could only admire and ogle at her from the side lines.

After a thirty minutes walk, she could hear the collective cries of young beasts. Her sour self felt a whole lot better! The school was next to the snake clan castle and when one of the guards saw her, he couldn’t help greeting her.

Sydney stopped. "How are you?" she greeted him back. The poor guy turned red seeing the lord’s female was looking at him softly.

"I’m fine!" He whispered stealing a glance at her with his light blue eye. He was also a blue snake beast like Titan before his evolvement.

While there, Sydney heard the sounds of hissing coming from behind her. She looked over her shoulder and saw a familiar snake beast in his half beast form leading a group of snakes towards the school’s direction. This reminded her of what Titan had asked of his clansmen and it seemed like this is a batch of sime that had been found.

The beastman leading the snakelings saw her and hurried to her side only to stop a few feet from her. "Good morning!" He greeted humbly, he was the sixth rank beastman Titan had assigned to her when she went hunting for herbs..

"Good morning Hamp!" Sydney greeted and looked behind him. "Is this the first group?" she asked tentatively. The snakelings were also looking at her with great interest shinning in their eyes.

Such a beautiful female!!!!

Hamp was surprised that she remembers his name. She had asked him before and he had said so in passing but it brought a different feeling hearing her say it. He blushed but his tanned skin hid it well for him. This was his lord’s female!

Behind him was a heated discussion amongst the little ones that made his ears bleed. He hissed at them angrily shutting them up.

[ She’s the lord’s female! You dare have designs on her? If the lord learns of this, don’t blame me if you die earlier!] he warned them and all immediately shut up. They looked at Sydney and indeed a mate mark was possessively wrapped around her neck.

It even moved!!!

"Yes. This is the first batch that agreed to come with me. The others weren’t convenced." he was ashamed.

"It’s okay! Let’s head to school, I’ll get my brother to register them and you can take them to their respective rooms." She said and walked past him to meet the snakelings. "Hey little guys! I’m Sydney! I help at the school you are going to attend and hope to see you around. If anything happens, you can always come and find me. Okay?" she smiled at them amd they nodded their heads in a daze.

Hamp looked at her interact with the little ones with ease and smiled. If only he was younger, he also would have grown up under her care but yet again, he was lucky to meet her when he was old enough! He could love her to his hearts content despite that being all he’ll ever get! Loving her!

The group made their way to the school premises and all the cubs were playing around energetically. She looked around and saw different volunteers looking out for them as breakfast was being prepared.

She led Hamp to Scott’s office which was a lone stone building with three rooms. In the room, he was all alone drawing something on a piece of skin hide. "Hey!" Sydney greeted as she made her way in.

Scott looked up from his work and saw a happy Sydney. "Oh! You came!" He commented.

What’s with that form of greeting?" She asked frowning and went to sit on one of the stone seats. I escorted a group of snakelings that arrived today morning. Please register them so that they can go get rooms assigned to them!"

"That’s a given." Scott replied and shot Hamp a look. Hamp didn’t idle around and instructed the snakelings to line up at the front of the main building. He left the siblings alone.

Scott stopped what he was doing and looked at Sydney assessingly. "What?" She asked.

Is everything alright?" he asked.

"Why?" Sydney asked back.

"Your tails didn’t follow you today." He pointed out. Ash and the group always kept by her side. If all of them got busy, atleast one would be by her side.

"It’s nothing."

"Really?!"

"Yeah."

"But a certain birdy told me otherwise."

"Parrick?!"

"Nope. So..is everything alright? I’m your brother and can help in any possible way!" he added as she moved to lean his elbows on his stone table.

"It’s nothing serious." Sydney refused to speak. What would she gain by telling her brother her family affairs and fights?

"Okay." Scott stopped probing and went back to doing his work diligently.

Sydney looked at Scott in disbelief! What?! Did she just get ignored? Wasn’t he going to probe?

’You are silly!’ Her subconscious chided her.

Scott knew her better. He internally smiled and didn’t look up at her again. Sydney sat around for a while before she stood up and left his office. She walked around the school premises but didn’t catch sight of any of her husbands.

’Where the heck are they?’ She hissed to herself.

She didn’t have time to get angry as a group of cubs dashed her way and bumped into her. She completely forgot about looking for her mates as she let the cubs usher her to the dinning area with a silly smile.

In the sidelines.

Ash and the others looked at the smiling Sydney and felt bitter.

Is this even going to work?" Ken hissed.

"How will we know if we don’t try. Scott knows her better, we should follow his advice." Titan frowned not letting his heart waver.

Ash was silent. He also agreed with Titan but it pained him to see that she seemed to be doing fine without them. He stilled his heart!

Caden and Shawn didn’t know what to say, they kept silent and watched.

Sydney kept around the school premises but didn’t see a single strand of her mate’s hair, not even their shadows. She felt a little irritated and stormed off to Scott’s office.

Scott looked.up from his work sensing her sour mood. "Want some water?" He asked.

"No!" Sydney replied angry.

"Is anything wrong?" He asked again.

’No...’ Sydney wanted to say ’no’ but held back. "Have...have you seen Shawn or any of the others around?" She asked.

"How would I know? They are your mates.. shouldn’t you know where they are?" he asked with interest dancing in his eyes.

"I don’t know where they went! I woke up but they weren’t at home." She said.

"There must be a reason they left without saying a word. It can’t be that you have no idea about it." He added. "They always are with you."

"I didn’t do anything wrong!" Sydney hissed and stood up. "It was them! Something happened and they didn’t tell me about it!" she growled.

"You are acting up again Sydney! Why?"

I didn’t mean to. I just thought I should do this!

And what was the outcome?

Aren’t they being a little too much?!

Have you considered that it’s you who is being a little too much?!
