Chapter 67: Mate’s pull

There was a loud commotion inside the black wolf tribe’s castle. Things were broken into pieces, bed inside the room was torn apart. Amidst all this, a black-haired woman clenched her fists and shouted with seething anger "That bitch!" her voice echoed throughout the castle. Soon her shrieks turned into a hysterical laugh sending chills to people inside the room.

Lexi observed everything on the sidelines and carefully approached "Calm down Elena"

Elena’s sharp gaze turned towards Lexi "Calm down? How can I calm down after getting insulted like that!?" her voice turned sharper at the end making Lexi flinch in her place.

"I understand you Elena, but you shouldn’t be the one to suffer as this" her eyes turned into the blaze as she continued "We should get revenge from that wench for insulting you"

Elena slumped on her bed "How!? How can I make her suffer?"

Lexi smiled slyly "Leave that to me"

She called one of her mates and gave him something wrapped inside the leaf "This should reach that wench’s food no matter what"

The male frowned "We will get punished if we hurt a female Lexi"

Lexi smirked "Do this and I promise to give birth to your cubs when I go into heat"

The male widened his eyes and nodded vigorously, then left the room leaving both Lexi and Elena inside the room.

Elena curiously looked at Lexi "What is that?"

"Poison" Lexi answered casually

"But, what if we get caught?" Elena asked worriedly

Lexi glanced at her and raised her brows "Don’t you want Lucas?"

Elena shut her mouth hearing Lucas’s name, Lexi eyed her and continued "We cannot achieve anything without taking risks"

Both their minds thought the same thing, we should get rid of the hurdle before it grows bigger.

The next morning was a bright one for Noah. He was beaming ear to ear making other males in the house burn with jealousy, Lyra entered the living room and observed the dark faces of her mates, she somewhat felt guilty and uncomfortable to face and stood rooted in her spot. Noah was the first one to see her and he grinned "Come and sit baby dove"

Lyra smiled awkwardly and proceeded towards the table and before she could sit next to Noah, Blake pulled her towards him "Sit beside me"

It was almost like an order, not allowing her any choice to compromise, she docilely sat next to him and he smirked at Noah. Lyra shook her head seeing his pettiness.

Noah ignored him and placed Lyra’s breakfast in front of her "Eat up dove"

She smiled faintly and went to eat, but something curled on her hand, preventing her movements. Lyra smiled looking at her son in her hand "What happened?"

In contrast to her smile, the little snake anxiously looked towards Blake ’Sssss’

Blake narrowed his eyes and took Lyra’s bowl and examined it and his gaze turned cold. Lyra saw his expression and questioned him "What is it?"

Blake forced a smile on his face and shook his head "Nothing, the meat is spoiled and the little one is trying to say that"

"Spoiled?" Lyra took the bowl "It looks fine though"

Lucas picked the bowl from her and smelled it and soon his expression became stiff "It is indeed spoiled"

Lyra was confused but didn’t pry too much because she believed in their sense of smell. Lucas got up from the chair "I’ll cook something else"

She waved her hand "It’s fine, I was not that hungry" then she left the room with the little snake.

Victor glanced at Blake and Lucas "What happened? Why are you both wearing such grim faces?"

Blake leaned against the stone chair "The food is poisoned"

Noah and Victor widened their eyes, Noah snatched the bowl from Lucas and sniffed it "Ho-how did it.....?" his voice trailed off because of shock

Lucas frowned "It is not potent enough to kill an ordinary beastman, but I’m getting chills knowing that Ly was going to eat it"

Noah banged the table "There wasn’t anything when I was cooking"

"Then it must be added afterward" Blake replied

Victor clenched his teeth "Who dares!"

Blake clenched his fist and turned towards Lucas and Noah "Smell the kitchen, your senses are better than mine"

Both of them nodded their head and headed towards the kitchen sniffing for some traces. After some time both of them grasped the same scent ’Fox beastman’

Lucas exited the kitchen "It is a fox beastman, maybe he entered through the window" then his face turned dark "Did the fox king discover Lyra’s identity?"

Victor shook his head "It is not possible, and he wouldn’t recklessly try to target Lyra before the arrival of blood eclipse" he paused "It is someone else’s work" then he smelled the poison and turned into his beast form flying out of the castle.

Lucas tilted his head "Where did he go?"

"I’m sure he has some work" Blake responded

On another hand, Noah also turned into his beast form and headed out to hunt for new prey.

THE SCORPION CASTLE

Demir was testing his new poison in the garden when Victor popped in front of him. He recoiled in surprise but soon narrowed his eyes "What are you doing here bird?"

Victor turned back into his beastman form and asked seriously "Are you working together with fox king?"

Demir paused his actions and glanced at him "My father took his help in entering the city, so although he hates, it is troublesome to ignore the fox king"

"Cut ties with him," Victor said

"Why?"

Victor frowned "There was scorpion poison mixed in my sweet girl’s breakfast today"

Demir panicked hearing that "Di-did she..?"

Victor shook his head "She didn’t consume it, thankfully one of Blake’s little ones identified the poison, preventing her from eating it"

Demir sighed a relief, the scorpion poison although harmless to males that can only cause slight hallucinations, is very dangerous to females. Just one drop is enough to kill them, and he was terrified hearing that his sunshine was going to consume it, "Who did it?"

Victor clicked his tongue "It is a fox beastman, Lucas sniffed his scent"

"Darcio sensed Kenna’s flickers inside the room yesterday, we should get ready for the worst" Demir cautioned

And as soon as he reached the rose castle, he informed Blake about Kenna "We were being spied yesterday, I think Killian already knows about my sweet girl by now"

Blake bit his lower lip "What should we do now!?"

"Aren’t black panthers different from us? they already have predestined mates" Victor questioned

Blake looked at him "And what if Lilly is his destined mate?"

"That will be a problem" Victor responded

"By Darcio’s words and Kenna’s involvement, we can already surmise that Lilly is Killian’s soulmate" Blake reasoned "We should be grateful because females don’t go through mate’s pull, it will be very hard for Killian to stay away from her, once he sees her"

He went into a daze staring at her smiling face, everything surrounding her paused in his eyes, he didn’t understand himself from yesterday night, after seeing her once, his beast was unsatisfied every minute and second, it growled in his head to always see her causing his delay in reaching the beast city.

Mate’s pull was unbearable for males from his tribe and he was realizing that now. He just wanted to snatch her away using the portal, but some unknown power always disrupted Kenna’s power at the last second and he was unable to do anything other than reach the city as soon as possible.

He watched her for some more time and finally got up on his feet, his heart was drumming in anticipation to see his treasure.
