Lyra froze in her place. Her eyes widened and her face flushed due to the lack of intake of breath. How could she breathe when this man was sucking the life out of her? She felt him clumsily suck her upper lip before gently biting her lower lip. She knew that this was not the time for her to think like this, but she couldn’t help herself. He was a bad kisser! He made it clear that this was his first time kissing someone... Well, maybe not the first because Lyra hazily remembered kissing him as he had mentioned before when she woke up.

It was also she who attacked him before so she decided to be a little more forgiving of his current actions. She gently tried to push him away from her but he was like a mountain that wouldn’t budge no matter how hard she tried. So as a last resort, she did something that would make even the strongest man react.

’Haha’ Kaizer chuckled and looked at her resentfully, "What are you doing?"

And as though not hearing his complaint, Lyra continued to tickle him by running her fingers on his stomach and grinned when Kaizer laughed out loud while trying to stop her.

"Stop it!.... Haha... Please....stop will you!?" He tried his best to wiggle out of her grasp and when she didn’t stop, he clasped both of her wrists.

Lyra struggled to break free but his grip was too strong. One of his palms was enough to hold both of her hands hostage. Meanwhile, with his other free hand, Kaizer held her chin before lifting it. He made her look at his playful eyes as he said, "Was it fun? Huh? Teasing me?"

"Yes, it was" and she answered without hesitation making him smirk.

He pinched her chin between his fingers earning a glare from her. And without any shame, he pecked her pouty lips before saying, "I thought you were a bunny, but..." he chuckled before adding, "You are more like a wild kitten"

As though protesting, she bit his fingers, and that made him grin, "My kitten" he cooed as he bent down to kiss her but halted hearing her next words.

"Stop with your lousy kissing already" her words struck him like lightning. His mood right now was very well-matched with the thunder and rain that was happening outside the cave.

He looked at her with his eyes trembling, "What?"

"You are a bad kisser" and his bunny heartlessly uttered her thoughts as she wiped her lips with the back of her hands. Then she put a little distance between them by scooting away from him. Kaizer felt his mood dampen even more as she seemed to move away from him. He once again tried to crawl toward her but was stopped.

"Stop right there!" Lyra said showing her palm at him, "Don’t even think about getting near me from now on..... Pervert" she didn’t like how he took liberties with her without any care in the world. She already had enough mates and didn’t wish to add on more because handling those bunch of handsome chipmunks back home was already a headache for her.

’’It was my first time’’ he said sullenly getting her attention. Lyra looked at him in confusion as he gazed back at her with watery eyes, ’’I have never kissed someone before.....this time with you was my first time’’

’I can see that much’ Lyra wanted to comment but held back seeing his crestfallen face. She felt like he would burst into tears if she really said that but she soon ate her own words. This man in front of her didn’t deserve sympathy! ’’So.....can you teach me?’’ he asked with such an innocent and oblivious face that it made her dumbfounded. She didn’t know how to react and barely managed to part her lips, ’’Teach you what?’’

’’Kissing’’ he said with a straight face, ’’And with that, you should also take responsibility for me’’

’’Responsibility?’’

He nodded, ’’You attacked the innocent me and stole my first kiss. It is only right that you be responsible for your actions’’ he wanted to trap her somehow. To not let her escape his clutches at any cost. He wanted to push her to the brink if that is what it took for him to enter her life. And Lyra composed herself and came out of her stupor after a long time. His every word made her speechless that she had a hard time wrapping her head around it and when she finally processed everything he said, it was clear that she was indeed the one in wrong. Although hazy, she knew that it was her that kissed him in the first place. She could argue saying that she was not in her right mind back then but her conscience stopped her from doing that.

So she took a deep breath before saying, ’’I apologize for doing that to you, but I....’’

’’I don’t want an apology from you’’ he said stopping her from speaking further. Kaizer stared right into her eyes before adding, ’’You have to take responsibility for me and that is final. There is no other way out of this’’

Lyra sighed tiredly, ’’And how exactly do you expect me to do that?’’

’’Make me your mate’’

’’No’’ came her rejection right after he finished speaking but Kaizer didn’t stop with that.

’’Then make me your slave’’

’’I am’’ he said almost nonchalantly but Lyra could see that he was holding himself back. From his repeated clenching and unclenching of fists to his slightly wavering eyes, everything made it clear that he was desperate. Desperate enough to throw himself away in front of her without caring. For a good minute, Lyra stayed num. All the thoughts were thrown out of her head and the only thing that she mused was about this man.

’Why is he doing this?’ He was a rootless beastman. The ones without blood and tears. The ones that do not care about the outside world and the ones that are incapable of feeling something other than bloodlust and killing intent. But this man was nothing like that. And when she once again glanced at him, Lyra’s heart clenched painfully.

He looked so....lost. He looked at her like a child begging for her to stay. No... To take him away from whatever that made him scared. To not abandon him in this lonely place. His intense gaze made her oddly burdened. She was not able to bring herself to look at those imploring eyes anymore and that made her turn away.

She already had her people to take care of and couldn’t afford to think about a stranger whom she met only a few times that could be counted by fingers. But why? Why was coming to this right conclusion making her feel bad? He was a nobody to her... But why was her heart saying otherwise? She questioned herself several times. Could she really abandon him who looked at her as though she was his entire world?
