Killian kept his gaze on his mate as she exited the gates of the rose castle. He felt remorseful for not being able to go with her. He was an outsider living in the beast city with no tribe to call his own, so he couldn’t attend the banquet inside the city. It was his fault for annihilating his tribe but he never regretted doing that to them. His tribesmen deserved it after what they did to his parents and sister. The taste of betrayal that they fed him still made him feel bitter as well as sad. The hurt that he felt when he saw his family’s lifeless bodies still haunted him but as the saying says ’Time heals everything’

Well, it did not completely heal him but it indeed lessened the pain. Now whenever he thought about that incident, it only brought nostalgia and a little bit of sadness.

Breathing out he came out of his thoughts before turning towards the little snakes and the lion cubs beside him. They were oddly silent as they continued to gaze at the exit. An involuntary smile adorned his lips because it looked like they were already missing their mommy. Well, he was the same too. Killian too missed their mommy.

Gregory furrowed his brows in displeasure before opening his eyes. For the past weeks, he was persistently trying to detect either Theodore or Iria but to no avail. He already knew about his beloved moving out of the rose castle. His men were scattered everywhere and could get all kinds of information that he needed. This was not possible before but now, he had thousands of stray beasts under his command and they were the ones to inform him about Iria’s departure.

But regretfully they had failed to track them and this made him unable of knowing their current dwelling.

’’Those sly bastards’’ he murmured with a smirk on his face. He was certain that both Theodore and Garrison must have planned this together. He thought of kidnapping Lyra and blackmailing Iria to return to him but this is easier said than done. He was not even confident of getting anywhere near her much less abducting her. That female’s mates are a bunch of powerful beasts that wouldn’t hesitate to cut down anyone that tries to harm her.

His life was precious to him. With him dead, he would never again be able to see his beloved, and worst of all, that bastards Theodore and Garrison will have her all to themselves. Gregory could never let that happen. Even if matters proceeded toward his demise, he would make sure to bring everyone down with him. In life and death, Iria will always only belong to him.

’’What is it that you are thinking so deeply about?’’ He came out of his thoughts when he heard a familiar voice.

His face remained calm as he reclined back in his seat, ’’Do you have any plans for today?’’

Kalena smiled when he abruptly changed the topic but it was not like she cared about his grievances. The only reason for her to ask him was that the things that run inside Gregory’s mind are never good and she liked that. She descended from heaven to particularly see chaos in Adrian’s daughter’s life. She had no enmity towards Lyra but her wench mother and scoundrel father are a different matter.

She longed to see them suffer when Lyra dies.

’’I’m thinking of sending some stray beasts to today’s banquet’’ She replied startling Gregory.

He turned towards her with his eyes widened in shock, ’’What?’’

Meanwhile, Kalena chuckled at his exaggerated reaction, ’’What’s wrong?"

’’Everything is wrong’’ he retorted with a grim face, ’’Have you lost your mind? The moment those stray beasts step out of the tribe will be the moment they will get annihilated by the beast kings’’

And those words made her baffled. She already knew about Gregory sending a few stay beasts to spy on the rose castle. Wasn’t she too doing the same as him? Most of all, she didn’t care about those stray beasts. Kalena was ready to sacrifice all of them as long she reached her goal.

On the other side, Gregory’s expression turned grimmer as he watched her nonchalant face. It was as though she didn’t care about others and was alright with pushing her allies into a fire pit. She looked genuinely confused as she gazed at him and that unnerved him. He never imagined princess Elena like this.

When he decided to join hands with the black wolf tribe, Gregory thought that she was just a naive girl who was jealous of Lyra. But he was proved wrong the more time he spent with her. The stray beasts that he asked to spy on the rose castle were fewer in number and he made sure to mask their presence with his powers. And he was sure that Elena had no such thoughts in her mind before suggesting her idea of sending the stray beasts to the coronation banquet.

’’Is there something wrong in sending them’’ She asked breaking the silence.

Gregory slowly shook his head, ’’This is your territory and they are under your control. You can do whatever you want, your highness’’

She smiled beautifully hearing his words. It resembled a poisonous flower that is deadly but vibrant and attractive. At that moment, Gregory vowed to never fully trust this female.

"How do I look?" Xavier asked for the umpteenth time and the servant assigned to him felt like crying.

The servant was exhilarated when he first heard about assisting the new king of their tribe. He felt honored to serve his king but that was cracking the more time he spent with him.

He never knew that King Xavier could be like this. Hours passed but his king was far away from getting ready for the coronation. He changed into numerous robes and each time, the things he said were, ’Do I look good in this?’ ’Will she like me in this outfit?’ ’She will not find me attractive enough in this’ ’Sigh... I need to look more handsome than her males’

"What is your name?"

Xavier asked while still going through his outfits and the servant was startled because he was still lost in his thoughts. He soon composed himself before answering, "I am Kyle, your majesty"

Xavier nodded indifferently and asked," So Kyle, do I look good in this outfit?"

Kyle groaned inwardly before nodding, "Yes your majesty" He felt like this would not end soon. His king was too busy with his outfits to attend the banquet.
