Chapter 195: Fool

Inside the forest of the beast city, a pair of gleaming amethyst eyes could be seen. Following it, a cloud of black smoke swirled around before taking the shape of a shadow creature.

Kaizer who was still in his beast form looked up at his shadow creature in puzzlement, ’’Why are you here?’’ He couldn’t understand the reason for it being here. He had ordered his familiar to protect his beloved. And the second he finished asking, he got an answer. His bunny went out of the rose castle.

He relaxed after hearing it but it did not last long. His mind turned chaotic because he remembered something. He recalled Tyler’s reason for visiting him a few weeks ago.

Tyler informed about Stray beasts infiltrating the city and taking hold of the black wolf tribe.

Kaizer felt his blood run cold, ’’Why did she go out?’’

And he felt his anger rise when his familiar answered his question.

’’She went out to attend some stupid banquet?’’ He wanted to scold her until she cried. Better, he felt like going to her right now and scaring her until she ran back to the rose castle. Well, that was unlikely because that brave little thing never got scared of him. Not even when he was in his wolf form.

Being brave was good up to a certain extent but she was not only brave but also naive and gullible. He knew this much about her even if they had only met briefly. She was calm facing him in his wolf form and only snapped when he tried to capture her cubs.

Thinking about that day, he recalled her using some kind of power. She even healed him on their first meeting. He didn’t think much about it then because he was still confused about the feelings that he was experiencing for the first time in his life. For now, he decided to stop her from attending the banquet before learning about her power.

’But how?’ he contemplated to himself. It was not like he could go near her and ask her to return. That sounded absurd. She will be surrounded by her annoying males and because of that, it would not be easy for him to reach and talk to her. Would she even talk to him in the first place? He doubted it. Their last meeting didn’t end on a good note. He pinned her on the ground and her shoulder got injured while she was struggling to get out of his grip. In the end, she looked absolutely terrified of him.

Kaizer felt sour just thinking about it. He hated seeing her like that. All his life, he liked seeing others getting scared of him or being wary of him until he met her. The mere thought of her getting scared or hating him didn’t sit well with him. He was very sure that, he would hate himself and go crazy if that happened.

"Haaa" vain laughter left his throat. His thoughts sounded so pathetic to even him. Be it day or night, all his thoughts and every fiber of his being longed for her. Only her.

But he doubted it was the same for her. Did she even know about his existence? No.

And this truth broke his heart. These new feelings that she was putting him through hurt him. It suffocated him. But he did not want it to stop. He was alright suffering even more for her sake. The things that he was feeling felt too precious and he never wanted to return to his old life that was filled with nothing but darkness. Yes, he is the darkness. Fortunately, he found his light... His bunny is his light and he was not willing to let go of it.

With conviction, he turned into his beast form and sprinted out of the forest.

As the banquet was scheduled for the evening, Lyra decided to first visit the lion tribe before leaving for the fox tribe.

Noah’s mother warmly welcomed them and she smiled when the queen hugged her.

"How have you been, dear?"

"I’m fine, mother. How about you?" Both Lucas’ and Noah’s mothers urged her to address them as mothers from the moment she met them. Lyra felt awkward in the beginning but it soon turned habitual for her.

’’I’m good, dear’’ the lion queen answered briefly with a warm smile on her face and took hold of Lyra’s hand before going inside the castle.

Her mates looked with sullen faces as she was dragged away from them. They thought of spending time with her before going to the banquet but that seemed impossible now. Even Noah felt resentful of his mother but had no choice other than to stay silent. It was because he knew that both his mother and mate would pounce on him if he said something. So without any choice left, they remained in the living room.

Time seemed to flow faster than they expected because the sky started to turn dark and the evening of the coronation banquet arrived indicating them to leave the lion castle.

The Lion king and queen together with Lyra and her mates left the tribe. A few of the elders with escort guards followed them. In the middle of their road, they met with the silver wolf tribe and the latter joined them on their journey.

The snake tribe, eagle tribe, and vulture tribe too met them when they reached the outskirts of the fox tribe. Whereas the scorpion tribe led by Demir and his father too reached the banquet.

Demir’s eyes started to search for his beloved as soon as he caught sight of the lion tribe. It did not take long for him to find her because she was already looking at him with a lovely smile tugged on her lips.

His eyes seemed to twinkle when she meekly waved her hand greeting him. He couldn’t stop himself from smiling. Only her small gesture was enough to light up his entire being. He was foolishly grinning at her and forgot his surroundings.

The scorpion king who briefly glanced at his son felt goosebumps. His son looked like a fool. It was not only him but even the guards and elders of the scorpion tribe too looked at their prince with wide eyes. They already knew about their prince liking a female but they never would have guessed that it was this serious. Well, it shouldn’t come as a shock because every male in the beast world acts like this in front of their beloved. But the reason for their bafflement right now was because it was not some other male they were talking about but their prince. Their prince who is cold and stingy with emotions showing his romantic side stunned them.
