When the meeting which was more like banter against both lion and silver wolf tribes didn’t end even after hours, Victor lost his patience and was the first to leave. He was eager and worried about his tribesmen. They trusted him enough to move here from their previous home without any qualms. So protecting them was his job and Victor felt that he had clearly failed to do that.

He made sure to thank Kyrell and rushed out of the meeting even though many complained after he left.

"Tsk tsk, he failed to guard his tribe and now he is being disrespectful towards us," Leopard king said clicking his tongue, "As expected of an immortal beastman. They think too highly of their power and fail in doing simple things"

According to him, the immortal beastmen were just a bunch of immature youngsters who got lucky in becoming powerful. They were not ambitious and always stayed aloof. In general, they didn’t like taking over the throne, so seeing so many of them inside the city acting as kings irked the leopard king.

Blake looked at the leopard king with cold eyes. The one to stop the remaining stray beasts back then was also an immortal beastman. If not for Kyrell’s vigilance, then the only one in control of those stray beasts wouldn’t be the black wolf tribe but the entire city. The stray beasts were large in number and if at all they took control of the city by keeping females hostage then no one would have been able to fight them. Some might say that immortal beastmen could indeed solve this but what about after that?

Blake together with all of the immortal beastmen avoided fighting as much as possible because their blood lust was not an easy matter to deal with. Once triggered, then it might stop only when the entire city gets destroyed.

"But the one to stop half of them from entering the city was also an immortal beastman" Kyrell’s voice brought Blake out of his thoughts.

Blake saw as Kyrell innocently pointed at himself and uttered, "It was me who did that" his crimson eyes landed on Leopard king, "Without me, your tribe would have been the first to get annihilated. Because you are weak"

What Kyrell meant to say was that the only tribe with fewer tribesmen and guards is the leopard tribe so obviously they would become an easy target to the stray beasts. But the only one to understand his harmless inner thought was Blake because it was not at all same to others.

The leopard king’s face turned dark as soon as Kyrell spoke those words. He wanted to retort but tactfully held back after receiving a harsh glare from Blake. The other kings muffled their laughter seeing the Leopard king.

And Kyrell who failed to notice the grim mood continued to speak, "I think the best thing to do now is staying together. The weak tribes like the leopard tribe should stay with a stronger tribe to keep the stray beasts from attacking them. It would be a disaster if those pests get hold of females from weak tribes right?" he asked looking straight at the leopard king.

"Pfft" Lucas couldn’t hold back his laughter anymore. It was worth seeing the leopard king’s face.

Noah likewise smiled faintly and glanced at Kyrell. But he was surprised to see Kyrell’s serious face. It seemed like all of his words were sincere without any hint of mockery. He was genuinely trying to help the leopard tribe.

"I agree with the eagle king" he suddenly heard his father’s words and looked at him in inquiry.

But Leonard just shrugged his shoulders and looked back at the Leopard king, "As he said, the weak tribes such as the leopard tribes will stay under other tribes for protection"

Then his eyes landed on Kyrell. Leonard gave an encouraging smile and said, "Thank you for your admirable insights, your majesty. And if not for you stopping the remaining stray beasts then we would have fallen into deeper trouble"

All of the other kings too except the leopard king nodded at Leonard’s words and chorused, "Thank you, your majesty"

Kyrell smiled back bashfully after receiving an unexpected compliment. It felt really good getting acknowledged for his work. He smiled bitterly because this was the first time something like this happened to him. In the past, no matter how hard he worked for his father and brother, the only thing that he received in return was disdain and ignorance.

He shook his head, all of that was past and he didn’t wish to remember it anymore.

After that, the meeting ended and all of them left for their respective tribes.

Blake decided to visit the little snakes and hence left for the snake tribe. Noah and Lucas followed their fathers because they still had to check some matters regarding the security of the city.

Whereas Kyrell returned to the rose castle because he was missing Lyra. He had not seen her after he left looking for Gregory. Too many things kept on piling up after that, so he had to remain back in the eagle tribe, and that was driving him to the edge. He never guessed that a day like this could occur to him. A place to call ’Home’ with his beloved female waiting for him sometimes felt like a dream. A beautiful dream that he never wanted to end.

Back in the rose castle, Lyra blankly gazed at the garden and sighed in disbelief. Her cubs were something else. Right after waking up, they rushed toward the rose garden and stomped it to the ground. It was as though, those little brats were making up for all of the time that they were sleeping. Yes, she decided to call that gloomy phase sleeping. Her cubs were sleeping for some days and now they woke up. She didn’t even want to remember those despairing moments when her cubs fell ill.

Coming out of her thoughts, she glanced at her naughty cubs, "Babies..... That’s enough. Nothing is remaining for you guys to stomp"

Hearing their mommy’s voice, the cubs finally decided to end their ’Play’ and sprinted towards her.

Right at that moment, Kyrell too entered the rose castle.

The cubs howled at him and went towards their father’s room.

Lyra looked up at him with a smile on her face, "Welcome back"

Kyrell grinned and strode towards her before hugging her, "I missed you, Lyra"

Her smile deepened when he called her name. All of her mates used their version of nicknames to address her but only Kyrell called her by her name. She didn’t know why, but her heart fluttered every time he said her name in his deep baritone voice. It was soothing!

She embraced him back and nudged her face on his chest like a cat.

Kyrell suddenly stiffened due to her actions. He couldn’t believe that he was getting hard by just this.

"Ly-Lyra...." he managed to utter as he put some distance between them. It was not long ago that she lost consciousness and was still recuperating. As much as he wanted to complete their mating and become one with each other, Lyra’s health came first. He didn’t want her to overexert herself, so for now keeping a distance was a must.

Lyra looked at him in confusion. She frowned when he noticed him fidgeting in his place.

"What’s wrong.....?" her words came to halt when she felt something hard pressing against her stomach.

Lyra’s face flushed red and she turned her face away trying to take a deep breath.

"Ahm... Kyrell you should get some rest" she said with a strained smile, "You have been busy..... Right?"

Kyrell blinked and then it dawned on him, "Right! Yes I have to rest"

Telling that he rushed towards his room and Lyra sighed in relief.
