Chapter 181: Meeting

"My Lord!"

Tyler exclaimed in relief as soon as he caught sight of Kaizer. It was not easy for him to stealthy leave the black wolf tribe. Those stray beasts were vigilantly guarding the tribe and did not let anyone out from the tribe. But with the help of his fellow beastmen and some of the elders who were displeased with the princess, he crossed that security.

It was more like they had no other choice. The only hope for their tribe was seeking out lord Kaizer.

"What are you doing here?" Kaizer asked with a displeasure-filled voice. He didn’t like when others came to this side of the forest. This place was more like his hideout from the outside world. Other beastmen who were sharp enough never loitered around here due to the immense beast pressure of an immortal beastman.

The only one who could enter here freely was Tyler because Kaizer allowed it. He did that because Tyler was the one to inform him about the outside world from time to time.

Tyler just stood in his place while agonizing. He didn’t know how to start. But more than that, he was sacred that Kaizer would not help them. His lord was a rootless beast who didn’t have any attachments to their tribe. It was understandable in a sense. Their tribe never liked Kaizer living inside the black wolf tribe. Even the previous king allowed Kaizer to stay because he wanted an immortal beastman by his side. It did not matter if he was rootless or not, their king only wanted to show off lord kaizer to other tribes.

"Tyler....." Kaizer glared at him. He was at his wit’s end and would most likely explode if Tyler remained silent.

Kaizer’s cold expression didn’t change even after hearing all of that. The worst that Tyler thought about became true because the only word uttered by his lord even after hearing all of that news was, "So?"

"So why are you telling me all of this?" said Kaizer, "What does any of this matter have to do with me?" He really couldn’t understand.

Kaizer thought that he had already made himself clear when he rejected the offer of taking over the throne after king Alexander’s death. So he was genuinely having a hard time trying to comprehend what any of Tyler’s news had to do with him. He didn’t care what that princess was doing. It was not like those tribesmen were his people.

"You can get out if this is the only thing you have to say," he said coldly.

Tyler flinched at his lord’s cold response. He expected this, but still, he had hoped that his lord would show mercy on them. All of his lord’s words were true. Kaizer was a rootless beastman and for a mere second, Tyler forgot that his lord could not feel emotions.

’It is like talking to an emotionless rock’ Tyler thought as he looked at Kaizer’s indifferent face.

’Would he ever break that apathetic attitude?’ this was the question that Tyler asked himself seeing Kaizer. ’What would make him move?’ and an abrupt thought entered Tyler’s mind as soon as he finished asking that.

’The female from rose castle’ The only time he saw his lord react was after he met that female. Tyler was very confused at that time when his lord was feeling restless thinking about that female.

All of his lord’s attention was currently directed at that female. ’If those stray beasts trouble her, wouldn’t his lord move?’ and even if he doesn’t, then it wouldn’t be a loss because her powerful mates would definitely make a move.

After learning about Kaizer’s interest in that female, Tyler made sure to investigate her and he was left in shock when he discovered about her mates. He did not even know that so many immortal beastmen could exist.

Her mates will tear apart those stray beasts if something happens to her. And his lord would do the same too or so Tyler hoped that he was right in guessing this time.

Making up his mind, he bowed at Kaizer, "Sorry for disturbing you, my lord. I will take my leave now" with that, he turned around and left that place.

Kaizer looked at Tyler’s retreating form with narrowed eyes. As much as he knew, Tyler was not that easy. He was like a leech who wouldn’t stop pestering him until Kaizer relented. So for such a person to leave this easily...Kaizer frowned and summoned his shadow creature.

A cloud of black smoke came in front of him and Kaizer ordered, "Go back to the rose castle and... Keep her safe"

Noah looked at the other tribe’s kings around the table and sighed tiredly. It was chaos when he and Lucas reached the lion tribe.

His father and Lucas’ father were getting bombarded with questions from other kings. They were blaming that the silver wolf and lion tribe didn’t do their job properly. One of them even said that the city should banish their tribes.

And that was enough to send someone’s temper up to the o roof. Lucas’ father who was a little short-tempered, to begin with, flared up hearing their words.

"How dare these spineless bastards! We were the ones who built this city. Thanks to us, you and your tribes are still living a peaceful life"

Noah noticed this and put his hand on Lucas’ clenched ones, "Calm down... This is not the place"

The lion king too looked at his friend, Helio, and shook his head telling him to stay quiet.

Meanwhile, the newly appointed kings looked at all of this with bored eyes.

Victor never knew that the king’s tasks were this difficult. He had a hard time keeping his annoying mouth shut from making a snarky comment. He heard that his tribesmen were currently residing in the eagle tribe. Victor wanted to go and check on them but this stupid meeting seemed to never end.

Blake on the other hand wanted to return to his mate’s side. He was never interested in becoming a king in the first place. He would gladly hand over the throne to Peter and spend time with his mate but that was not possible. That slimy little bastard, Peter declared that he would never become a king when Blake was alive and kicking. He glanced at everyone present and it landed on the only one interested in the ongoing meeting.

Kyrell was intently listening to all of the discussion. His red eyes would bulge in awe when someone shouted and would shrink when something important came up.

Blake felt his mouth twitch. He couldn’t understand what was so interesting in that banter.

But Kyrell was listening to all of the discussion because of Lyra. She once mentioned to him about how a king should be trustworthy, kind, and caring. She said that the good kings that she read about back in her world were always attentive to their subjects. Kyrell liked hearing about her life back in another world and this topic came during that time.

So for the sake of his beloved, he wanted to be a good king that she liked.
