Chapter 174: Only solution

’Bang’

The lion king couldn’t keep his composure anymore and sent the table flying against the stone wall after hearing an absurd report regarding the black wolf tribe.

He was getting ready to leave for the rose castle to check on his grandsons when he was informed about the arrival of the eagle beastmen. King Leonard decided to stay back and listen but he was not ready for the report that he heard.

"What the hell did you just say!?"

The Eagle beastmen recoiled in their place due to the lion king’s overwhelming pressure. They could understand his fury. Anyone with a sane mind would feel the same anger knowing the situation. Having stray beasts inside the city made all of them anxious.

The stray beasts were normal beastmen like them in the past. They were comrades, friends, and family until the death of their females. Losing their mate would turn the normal beastmen astray. This might happen with either their female dying or them removing the spousal mark. But no matter the circumstance, the males turned into strays are nothing but insatiable beasts.

Strays lose all their rationality and the only thing that would remain in their minds is to fill the void. They try their best to fill in the empty void left by their mates by harming other females. It can either be by forcing themselves onto the females or by killing them.

After becoming a stray beast, one cannot control his primal needs. Fulfilling their carnal pleasure is the only way for them to feel alive. Yes, they are pitiful...but hurting innocent females that got nothing to do with them for their selfishness is not right.

"We must chase them out" the lion king announced bringing everyone out of their thoughts, "Warn every female inside the city to stay indoors until those bastards are chased out of the city"

"Yes, your majesty!" The guards said in unison and departed to carry out their tasks.

King Leonard sighed as he sat back in his seat. He was grateful for the quick information given by the eagle king. Any more delays might have caused innocent lives and the king never wished for that to happen.

He clenched his fists. Leonard blamed himself for not investigating the black wolf tribe after their king’s death. Tribes in general didn’t appreciate unnecessary aid when their king died. The funeral and coronation of the new king are done in their respective tribes and no one had the right to disturb them during their mourning period. This was his only reason for not going near the black wolf tribe.

But that reason led them into such a dire dilemma.

"What!?"

Kalena now occupying Elena’s body exclaimed in shock. She just got the news about the eagle tribe attacking the stray beasts that were trying to cross the vulture tribe. Everything was kept confidential, so she had a hard time digesting the news of eagle king learning about it and acting on it.

She massaged her forehead, "How did he know about this!?" Then her gaze traveled toward the white-haired beastman sitting across her, "You.....what did you do now?"

The man glanced at her and shrugged, "I know nothing about this"

"Don’t you dare lie to me!" She said gritting her teeth, "The eagle king reached here looking for you right?"

"Yes," he didn’t deny her claim and answered calmly, "I gave some unwrapped gift before I left. It should have revealed itself by now that must have made them anxious to find me"

"And that led them to find out about the stray beasts in my territory?"

He nodded and Elena felt her anger rise. She clenched her fist and continued, "So you are saying that your stupidness is ruining my plans"

"Yes and No" Gregory replied confusing her.

"What do you mean by that?"

"It was my plan for them to find me. I was waiting for the day for them to seek me desperately but it was not my intention to disclose the existence of stray beasts entering the city. It is indeed problematic right now"

"Then how do we solve this?" Elena asked impatiently while tapping the table.

Gregory pondered for a bit and replied, "It is just a matter of time before all the tribes inside the city corner us" he was sure that both the lion and silver wolf tribes must have already heard about the stray beasts. So they needed something as leverage. Something that could stop the outside force from attacking them and it did not take long for him to come up with a solution.

"We have precious females residing in the black wolf tribe don’t we?"

A malignant smile adorned her lips as soon as those words left his mouth, "Indeed we do"

Meanwhile, the entire black wolf tribe descended into chaos within a span of moments. The shrill screams of females could be heard everywhere and the growl of males defending their mates echoed.

"What is happening here!?" One of the beastmen of the black wolf tribe asked while pushing the stray beast away from his house.

"I have no idea," another said while fighting the enemies.

"What are stray beasts doing inside our tribe?"

They were too lost. The black wolves didn’t know why or how the stray beasts entered their territory. The untimely death of their king took a toll on them and that made them vulnerable to their enemies. They were still trying to cope with the loss of their king until a horde of stray beastmen started to attack them.

Without their king to defend them, everything fell into turmoil. But they were trying thier best for the sake of their mates. They’d rather die than hand over their females to those monsters.

But soon the confidence started to plummet as stray beasts outnumbered them and took hold of the females.

During this uproar, a clear voice got their attention, "If you want your females safe then you have to obey me"

"Your highness?" One of the beastman said, "We will follow you even without this. Then why.....?"

"Servants do not have the right to question!" She shouted, "This is my way of doing things and nobody can stop me"

With this, all of the black wolves couldn’t do anything but follow their princess. Everyone begged for their females to be released but Elena didn’t heed their request.

"The females will be under my control inside the black wolf castle" saying her words, she left that place.

The other beastmen too returned to their houses except one. Tyler stared at their princess as she left without even giving a single glance at her people.

Now he understood. The worry of tribe elders came true. Without a king to lead them, they were nothing but helpless beasts. The loyalty that they decided to pledge to their only princess made them incompetent and worthless to her. She regarded them beneath her feet and they had no power to go against her.

Tyler couldn’t even understand how she got those stray beasts under her control. Every question of his was left unanswered but there is only one solution for all of these.
