Chapter 141: leaving

Noah’s mother, the lion tribe’s queen was often worried about Lyra’s pregnancy and asked her to stay in the lion castle until she give birth.

Noah too expressed that he was worried and implored her to go to his tribe with him. Lyra likewise saw that her mate was always worried about her health nowadays and decided to go with him.

She understood the queen and Noah’s worry and made up her mind to go to the lion tribe, but her other mates were completed against her moving out.

Lyra decided to convince them individually and here she was in this stubborn panther’s room.

She glanced at Killian’s sulking face and sighed, "It is only for some days..."

Killian glared at her but his eyes were desperate "Don’t go"

Killian whined, "I will try my best to take care of you here. Why should you go to that place?"

Lyra slumped on the bed with Killian still in her embrace, "The lion queen informed me that my pregnancy might get complicated as days pass. I have hardly a week before I give birth, and don’t want to take any risk now. Noah’s mother is experienced in giving birth to lion cubs, I want to stay with someone like her who can help me in this situation"

Killian felt his throat tighten. He knew that sending her is necessary, but he couldn’t bring himself to let her go out of his sight. Then something flashed inside his mind, "Then take me with you"

Lyra smiled awkwardly at his request, "That will not be possible"

"Why.....?" Came his whining voice.

"I heard that tribes will not allow unfamiliar beastmen inside their territory, much less an immortal beastman like you. They might feel uncomfortable having you there"

Killian scoffed at her reason, "So you want me to suffer here alone? Why do you even care about those strangers’ feeling uncomfortable?"

"Killian, Please....." Lyra said in a stern voice and he closed his mouth, "I am going and that is final"

She was done with reasoning with him. Sometimes, Lyra wished that her mates would at least try to understand her circumstances. After consuming poison because of that Gregory, Lyra was always on edge about her baby.

She wanted to stay with Noah’s mother who was well versed in the lion tribe’s pregnancy but her mates were something else. Blake didn’t say it out loud but she could see how he avoided talking to her whenever she spoke about leaving the castle. Lucas was okay with it just because he could go in and out of the lion tribe easily because his father and Noah’s father were close friends.

Meanwhile, Victor and Killian were totally against her going to the lion tribe. She thought about talking to Victor after Killian, but this guy was adamant about not listening to her.

She got up from the bed and looked at Killian, "Sweetheart, please understand my distress, I can’t help but feel scared whenever I think about my pregnancy. You also know about how I almost lost the baby because of poison, I feel more and more nervous every day, So I really need to go to the lion tribe"

Killian bent his head and clenched his fist, "Alright, You can go" Lyra smiled hearing it, and he added, "But it is only until you give birth, Promise me that you will return right after that"

Lyra nodded, "I promise" She understood him. Being each other’s soulmates, they would feel distressed spending time away from each other.

She too was reluctant to leave him but it was necessary. Her baby was more important than her discomfort but she felt bad for Killian. She could only hope that he would understand her.

After talking to Killian, Lyra went to Victor’s room and caught sight of him resting on the bed.

"Victor?" She called out but did not receive an answer. Lyra was confused about why he was still sleeping when the sun was already up in the sky. Then she got worried thinking that he was not feeling well.

His back was facing her, so she strode towards the bed, "Is something wrong Victor?"

Lyra stretched her hand to touch him but he turned away from her, "You should leave"

"What?" She asked not understanding his vague words.

Still, with his eyes closed, he sighed, "I will not be able to let you leave from here if I open my eyes and see you. So, you should leave"

"Honey...." Lyra called but he just covered his face with a blanket.

She blinked her eyes in surprise but soon realized that this was his means of permitting her to leave. Lyra thought that it would be difficult to convince him the most but she thought wrong.

Her heart swelled seeing him trying so hard to adhere to her wishes. She bent towards him and hugged him over the blanket, "I will return as soon as possible"

"Hmm," he replied.

Lyra released him and got up from the bed. She felt regretful for not seeing his face but this was also alright. She turned around and started walking out of the room but halted after hearing an adorable confession from her mate.

"I love you, sweet girl. Please return soon" his voice was low and restrained and that made Lyra’s heartache.

She held back her brimming tears and replied hoarsely, "I love you too, honey"

Victor clenched his hand inside the blanket to keep himself from running to his mate. It took all his strength to not stop her from leaving but he held back, "I’ll miss you...." He murmured to himself as he sensed her leaving his room.

Lyra got down the stone stairs and saw her father in the living room.

Theodore was narrowing his eyes with an annoyed face, "Why are they acting like you are leaving them forever? Lyra, you are too soft on them"

"Look who’s talking" Lyra heard her mother chiming in and that made her chuckle.

Iria glanced at Theodore and clicked her tongue, "You are the clingiest person I have ever seen. Compared to you, my son in law’s are gentle and sweet"

Theodore’s face turned dark hearing his mate’s sarcastic and biased words.

Meanwhile, Lyra couldn’t stop laughing after seeing her father’s face. He looked like a puppy drenched in rain.

Whereas Iria smiled inwardly looking at her mate’s face. Sometimes he acted all high and mighty like a dependable person but he was the biggest manchild she had ever seen. At least, her daughter’s mates listened to her words calmly before acting but Theodore was never the calm one to hear out others’ words.

Theodore glared at his smiling mate and daughter and grumbled, "You always do this..."

Lyra just shook her head and glanced at her mother, "Mom, did you by any chance see Blake? I can’t find him anywhere in the castle"

"I saw him going towards the snake tribe," Her father informed and Lyra nodded her head.

Just as she guessed, he was avoiding meeting her. She couldn’t understand why he was acting like this. To incubate their babies back on the mermaid island, he left her side for almost a month, So she thought, convincing him would be easier than others. Lyra held her forehead feeling tired of her mates’ stubbornness.
