Beauty in the beast world
Chapter 140: Purposes

Chapter 140: Purposes

Kalena stared at the floating clouds in front of her with indifference. She clenched her fist with frustration.

"Why Adrian?" she muttered hoarsely trying to contain her erratic emotions.

"Why can’t you love me?" She shouted as tears streamed down her cheeks. Adrian was her everything, but how could he throw her away and love another woman?

Mocking laughter left her lips because of her thoughts. After all this, she still loved him, "I’m really a fool..."

But her love for Adrian was not the same anymore. It has changed from a sweet love to something more destructive. In fact, now her hatred directed at him and Vanadey was greater than her love.

A man who left her for another woman and a vile woman who stole him away from her was Kalena’s remaining feeling for them. And their daughter...well she is innocent, but that did not matter for Kalena. She wants to hurt Adrian like how he hurt her by destroying his daughter.

"Lyra....." She mused to herself looking at the beast world on her magic sphere. Kalena had to admit that, Adrian did a great job by bringing his daughter to the beast world. It is a place where women are well respected and cherished. And this made it difficult for Kalena to harm Lyra. Males surrounding that girl were very strong and protective.

If it was the human realm where Lyra stayed, then it would have been easier for Kalena to hurt her. There was no power or magic in that world and dealing with humans who were the weakest mortals made it lenient to kill them.

She couldn’t help but chuckle at her despair. Kalena thought about controlling those beastmen surrounding Lyra but that too failed because someone successfully broke her mind control.

Only the wielders of darkness are capable of going against an angel like her and Kalena for the first time in her life felt scared of her situation. The power which repelled her was very strong...so strong, that it could end her life if she made any hasty actions.

Together with this, Kalena had another problem in the form of her superior angels called Archangels. Meddling with mortal realms was strictly forbidden and doing it for their personal reasons was even more punishable.

So she has to stay low for some time before making her next move. Kalena glanced at the magic sphere and smirked, "Enjoy your peace for now, because I will destroy it very soon"

Kalena decided to wait for some time before making her next move. In the worst-case scenario, she has to descend to the beast world. Controlling their mind was her biggest card but because of some imbecile, it failed. She first has to find the source of darkness and get rid of that before it could threaten her life.

After that, getting hold of ’Sapphire of wish’ was crucial. Adrian was sealed inside it and she would make sure to never let him out of there. Kalena was sure that the first thing he would do after getting free from his confinement was kill her. Adrian’s hate for her was greater because of Vanadey’s death. To achieve her goal, keeping Adrian inside the gem was vital.

And at last, she would kill his daughter as she Killed his beloved and exact her revenge.

Meanwhile back in the Beast world. A man stood on top of a cliff and stared at the beast city with cold eyes.

Gregory clenched and unclenched his fist in distress. After Iria’s escape with Garrison, he felt like it was an end for him. He believed that Iria wouldn’t dare to escape after Lyra’s poisoning incident, but he guessed wrong. She not only escaped but even reentered the beast city without any care.

"Ugh!" He groaned at his bad luck making Prescott chuckle.

"Is my suffering funny for you?" Gregory asked with a glare and Prescott shook his head.

"Not many crises make you this disturbed, You always remain calm no matter what happens" he laughed and added, "In conclusion, it is rare for you to lose your calm"

Gregory sighed and slumped beside Prescott, "How can I not worry when Gary is back?"

Prescott’s face turned dark right after those words. Gregory knew that Prescott would burn with fury just by hearing Garrison’s name.

Now it was time for Gregory to laugh at Prescott, "Gary is your best friend, right? Why can’t you forgive him after all these years?"

Prescott glanced at Gregory and said in a cold voice, "Because he betrayed me. I would have forgiven Garrison if he was a stranger, but him being my most trusted friend makes it difficult for me to do that"

They grew up together in the tiger tribe. Prescott was the prince and future king of the tribe, meanwhile, Garrison stood beside him during the battle for the throne.

Prescott smiled sadly remembering how he thought of Garrison as his brother more than his biological brothers. They trained together to become immortal beastmen and succeeded in taking the king’s seat. But all this shattered when Iria came into the picture.

Garrison who never opposed him said ’NO’ for the first time, and it was because of Iria.

Prescott wanted to make Iria his mate but it was almost impossible because of Theodore. So, the next best option left for him was to capture her and keep her by side by force but Garrison was against it.

Garrison always urged him to free her but Prescott couldn’t do that. He loved her! How could he let go of her? And following that, came the betrayal he never imagined.

His best friend helped Iria in escaping the tiger tribe. Prescott was shocked and couldn’t find the reason during that time but soon learned the purpose of his friend’s betrayal.

Garrison fell in love with Iria and Prescott’s heart broke when he learned that the feeling was mutual. His Iria loved his best friend and they ran away together.

He sighed and came out of his thoughts, "Stop talking about him. I despise talking about that traitor"

Gregory observed Prescott and nodded his head. He could somehow sympathize with Prescott because Gregory experienced something similar to that.

Theodore and he were childhood friends who grew up together. Their ill fate started when they fell in love with the same woman.

Iria....She was a dazzling, beautiful, and the kindest female he had ever seen. She was so sweet and likable that it was easy for them to fall in love with her. Unfortunately, she loved only one and sadly he was not that person.

She was adamant about following monogamy and Theodore was more than happy about that because he too was against sharing his mate with other males.

In the beginning, Gregory tried to put his feelings aside because he didn’t want to lose his friend and Iria but everything changed when Henrick came into their life.

He was the fox tribe’s prince who saved Iria from his own father. She, who was adamant about having only Theodore as her mate helplessly fell in the love with Henrick. And her love for him was not forced like Theodore’s instead it was by her own choice.

Gregory could still recall how even Theodore was afraid of losing Iria to Henrick.

They loved each other to the extent of giving up their life for the eachother. And, Gregory did just that. He got rid of Henrick from his Iria’s life by getting him killed by his own father, the late fox king.

A smirk formed on his lips remembering how the fox king dug out his own son’s heart killing him. The heart which had his Iria was gone forever!

Gregory didn’t feel even a little bit of remorse for getting Henrick killed. Instead, he felt exhilarated and satisfied by getting rid of his love rival.

That bastard’s presence always bothered Gregory. The love which he yearned for so much was Henrick’s.

His anger grew by thinking about the past. Closing his eyes, he tried to calm his erratic nerves. Thinking about those things only brought pain and suffering to him, so he decided to think about something useful.

Getting Iria back was his goal and it will never change. He is nothing without her, all his life and days were built on the objective of becoming her mate. Whenever he faced dangers and difficulties, her face is the one that motivated him. He tried his best every day to make plans because, at the end of that path, he visualized Iria with her smiling face waiting for him.

He didn’t care if others thought of him as delusional or miserable because reaching her was his only goal and nothing else. For that, he didn’t mind the path he took or the people he would sacrifice.

Theodore, Garrison, and even his now helper Prescott’s life were nothing to him. He would not bat an eye to kill them off to get to Iria.
