Chapter 139: Obsession

"Something is worrying you?" Lyra asked and it felt more like an assertion rather than a question. She could feel his distress and decided to ask him. Her mates were too secretive for their good and it sometimes made Lyra sad. On the other hand, she did not keep secrets and always shared with them because she was too bad at keeping secrets.

Killian too felt bad for not telling her everything but sometimes it was for her own good. In the beginning, he was very against keeping secrets and even scolded others for doing that but now after becoming her mate, it made sense to not stress her anymore by saying unnecessary things.

"Did you meet someone a while ago?" Came his question and she frowned, "A black wolf was trapped inside the rose bushes and I helped him out of there"

"A wolf?" Killain nodded. He now confirmed that the power encircling her must have been that wolf’s.

"I think he is an ordinary Wolf," She said and Killian chuckled, "He is a beastman, love"

Lyra’s eyes went wide. She pulled away from him and stared at him, "No way" then why was he not able to get out from the bush by himself if he is a beastman? She looked up to Killian with confusion and he understood her.

"I can sense that he is a beastman, and a very powerful one at that" Lyra closed her eyes in misery at Killian’s certainty.

Then another thought came to her mind making her even more dreadful. ’Did I hug and laugh at a beastman?’ Lyra even felt that the wolf liked her and by Killian’s words, she realized that he is a powerful individual. Lyra wanted to cry, why was she always getting entangled with males?

She loves her mates.....but she has to admit that it is also troublesome receiving affection from all of them. They are too passionate and always wanted attention from her. It was alright for a certain level, but it was tiring for her.

Sighing tiredly, She entered the castle together with Killian. Lyra decided to not go out of her room anymore after this. The males in this world were too intense that she was overwhelmed.

As soon as they entered, She noticed Blake coming out of his room with his little ones following him.

Blake’s face brightened as soon as he saw his mate’s face and his legs moved automatically towards her "Lilly....."

Lyra chuckled as he snuggled his face on her shoulder. She stretched her arms around him and caressed his head, "Good morning"

Blake continued to enjoy her warmth whereas Killian narrowed his eyes and left the place. No matter what, seeing his mate with other males always bothered him. He continuously reminded himself to control his emotions because it is an inevitable situation. He was not the first one to meet her and now he was paying the price for that. ’If only had I met her sooner’ this was just wishful thinking that he always had.

Lyra observed Killian’s gloomy face as he left. She was not blind and could comprehend his inner turmoil but chose to ignore it.

It was her responsibility to give her attention to all her mates equally, but as easy as it sounded, it was very difficult. For now, Lyra decided to do her best to love them and decided to ignore everything else.

Blake pulled away from her and frowned, "Something is worrying you?"

Lyra was caught off guard. He was too perceptive or he really knows her too well? Ah...She loved him more and more as time passed.

"How can you be so perfect?" Words left her lips without a second thought making Blake surprised.

"I am?" He asked still in confusion and contentment. Blake felt giddy receiving a compliment from his mate the first thing in the morning.

"You are" she answered without hesitation and kissed his cheeks. Then she glanced at her little ones and smiled, "Babies...."

The little snakes dashed towards their mother and snuggled at her legs.

Lyra chuckled and glanced at Blake, "Did they have their breakfast?"

"I was thinking about taking them to hunt today" Blake replied smiling at his sons and the little ones hissed enthusiastically in return.

Lyra nodded, "Be safe"

Blake pecked her lips and started walking out of the castle but halted when he realized that he did not find out the reason for his mate’s worry.

He turned around to ask her but she was already gone from his sight.

Blake decided to ask about it some other time, so he continued walking out with his little ones.

Whereas, Lyra reached Noah’s room and smiled when she saw him still sleeping. Maybe due to her pregnancy, she always had an urge to look for Noah every morning. It made her happy for some reason and Noah too knew that she liked his company and always made time no matter how busy he was with his tribe’s matters.

Lyra stepped towards the bed and rested her head on his arms and snuggled against his chest. She closed her eyes with a relaxed mind and fell asleep.

Noah smiled with his eyes still closed. He sensed her presence as soon as she entered his room but he waited to see what his mate would do.

She was so cute, falling asleep in his embrace. He slowly opened his eyes and stared at his mate’s beautiful face with both a happy and complicated gaze.

Her pregnancy is complicated as his mother said. She was easily tired nowadays and her appetite too reduced making him worried.

Noah didn’t mention this to her because he didn’t want to worry her during this delicate situation. He could only hope that everything would go well without any difficulty during the labor.

Meanwhile, in the heavenly realm, Kalena buried her nails in her palm feeling frustrated.

Crimson-colored blood trickled down her hand but it soon healed without leaving any trace of injury.

Her milky white hair swayed in the wind and her silver eyes burned with suppressed fury.

"How can this be possible!?" She spat between her clenched teeth.

Her friend, Liv glanced at her in confusion, "What is not possible?"

Kalena turned to Liv and said, "Someone broke my mind control!"

Liv widened her eyes, "That’s impossible" she muttered feeling puzzled. It was unthinkable for someone to break an angel’s manipulation unless it is someone with equal or stronger power doing it.

"Don’t tell me...." The more she thought, the more Liv couldn’t believe this situation. The angel’s power is something pure but to withstand and repel it, darkness is needed.

Wielders of darkness are enemies of angels and if they are too powerful, then it means that they can even end an angel’s life.

Liv looked at her friend with dread, "Kalena, you should stop now. There is someone who can kill you out there, Please...stop your obsession with revenge"

Kalena smiled sadly at her friend’s words and whispered, "I can’t believe that Adrian found someone that can kill me" her eyes brimmed with unshed tears as she glanced at Liv, "Am I that hateful, Liv? Why can’t he love me after all this?"

"How can he love you after all this?" Liv asked back feeling frantic, "You killed both his beloved and daughter. Cursed the baby to be reborn as a mere mortal and locked him up inside a gem for centuries. Forget about loving you, Adrian loathes you to the extent of finding someone to end your life"

"All I did was love him!" Kalena shouted after hearing her friend’s words. Why can’t anyone understand her? Adrian was meant to be hers but that fairy bitch stole him from her. All she ever did was try to take him back, he belongs to her in the first place!

Liv stared at her friend with pity and bitterness, "You are not in love with him, but obsessed with him. You want to own him as your own when he is not at all interested in you"

Kalena clenched her fists, "He would have loved me if not for that bitch!"

"Adrian saw you as a good friend and nothing else Lena," Liv said, "You were the one to misunderstand his intentions as love. Vanadey is and always will be his only love"

"Don’t make me kill you Liv" Kalena warned making Liv chuckle, "So now you are thinking about killing your own friend?"

Kalena clenched her jaw and turned her face away, "Get out from here, I want to be alone"

Liv observed her friend and sighed tiredly, "At least stay quiet for some time. I heard that the archangels are observing your movements, and you will get into trouble if you make a move now"

After alerting her, Liv turned around and walked out of that place. Her friend’s stubbornness knew no bounds and it made her worried. Liv thought that her friend is a good person and her love for Adrian made her do horrible things. Love can be great and bring happiness but it can also get equally destructive if not controlled.
