Chapter 136: His bunny

As Demir and Blake dug their own pit without awareness, Lyra was enjoying her time with Victor back in the rose castle.

She was grinning from ear to ear looking at Victor choosing a dress for her.

He was seriously looking at different fabrics and animal skin to make new dresses for his mate. Then his eyes gleamed when he caught sight of a purple-colored fabric from a mermaid’s clan.

Lyra glanced at it and saw that it looked soft like silk. She was still amazed by how the beast world had so many beautiful things that were available naturally.

She saw the glaring sun rays through the balcony and realized that it was lunchtime.

Lyra got up from her seat and stepped toward Victor, "It is time for lunch Victor"

"I’ll eat later," he said still his eyes on the fabrics.

"I’ll bring it here then. I know that you will not eat later" she said pursuing her lips and leaving the room.

Coming down the stone stairs, she entered the empty kitchen and started making some meat soup together with some vegetables. After spending so many days in the beast world, she was quite skilled in using primitive ways of living and that included cooking.

She had to admit that sometimes she missed the modern technologies which made one’s daily life easier but this was also alright. Lyra has her mates who love her so much and felt this small inconvenience was bearable as long as she stayed with them.

Lost in her thoughts, she failed to notice the shadow creeping behind her, and just as she was about to turn, a large palm covered her mouth making her eyes widen in fear. She thrashed her hands trying to get free but the person behind her just gripped her hands with his free hand hence stopping her movements.

Tears pooled in Lyra’s eyes and the first worry to strike her during this dilemma was the safety of her fetus. The more she thought about it the more terror filled her. ’I have to do something’ she thought inwardly and decided to bite his hand.

Kaizer reflexively removed his hand after her fierce bite and wanted to glare at her but froze when he looked at the striking blue eyes glaring back at him.

Lyra tried to catch her breath and glared at the intruder with anger-filled eyes, "Who are you!?"

Kaizer blinked his eyes still dazed. The female in front of him was so beautiful that he felt his heart skip a beat. She was glaring at him with furious eyes but that just made her even more adorable. ’A bunny’ is what came to his mind as soon as he caught sight of her lovable face.

Lyra furrowed her brows in confusion. ’Why is he looking at me like that?’ And he just remained still not attempting to apprehend her anymore. For a minute, she thought that it was not her he wanted to kidnap but he just came here by mistake. And that made her lips arch up slightly but still, she took steps back and wanted to rush to Victor.

Kaizer came out of his haze when he sensed her moving away from him. He attempted to reach her but didn’t notice the meat soup scattered on the floor and fell face first in front of her with a loud ’Thump’

Lyra retreated and looked at the figure on the ground with disbelief. She too didn’t notice the soup falling and tried her best to suppress her laughter but failed ultimately.

Tears surged from the corner of her eyes, but now it was for entirely another reason. She observed how he remained stuck to the floor and understood that he was embarrassed to get up.

Lyra kneeled and poked his shoulder with a huge smile on her face, "Are you alright?"

Kaizer never felt this much shame in his life. He wanted to dig a grave and bury himself, his first impression was completely ruined and he slowly lifted himself and avoided her eyes, "I’m fine"

Her smile came to halt seeing blood on his forehead, "Your forehead is bleeding"

Kaizer blinked his eyes and stretched his hands to touch the injury but Lyra stopped him by holding his wrist.

He looked at her in confusion and she closed her eyes and blue light passed through her fingers which healed his injury rapidly.

Kaizer observed her closed eyes and couldn’t help but notice how long her lashes were. They fluttered like a butterfly and his eyes trailed to her sharp nose and halted at her cherry-like lips. She didn’t look real, He felt like she was more of the figment of his imagination.

He also sensed her healing his injury and felt warm. She was just like how those two idiots mentioned, No! She was more than that.

Lyra fluttered opened her eyes and sighed, "All done"

Then she got up from the ground, "You should leave before my mates find you" she warned, "I don’t think you are here to kidnap me, so leave"

Kaizer too got up from the ground and started walking out of the kitchen but stopped hearing her voice, "Also, I think it is better if drop your idea of kidnapping anyone else in the future" he could sense her giggle as she continued, "You are too bad at it"

’Was she teasing him?’ He turned around and glared at her but his eyes mellowed seeing her smiling face. He shook his head, it was not right for him to think like this. He did not deserve someone like her in his bleak and empty life.

He clenched his fists and stared at her, This happy bunny looked better in this place and he did not want to disrupt her life. Kaizer felt envious of that snake and scorpion, if only he was not a rootless beast.

A sad smile adorned his lips because that would never happen. He turned his back to her and walked out without looking back.

Lyra tilted her head seeing his retreating back in confusion. ’Was it just her or did he look sad gazing at her?’

She was still baffled by the stranger. He came unannounced, tried to abduct her, fell to the ground face-first by slipping on meat soup, and then left with a sad smile hanging on his lips.

"Who are you?" She muttered to herself feeling intrigued by the amethyst-eyed stranger.

Meanwhile, Kaizer teleported from rose castle to his cave in the black wolf tribe. He darted his eyes at the desolate and dark cave and sighed, this is his life and he didn’t know why it suddenly bothered him. He was alright with his life, he liked being alone most of the time and relished annoying people sometimes and most of all, he hated weak beings.

Now that he thought about it, that bunny he met today was also weak and delicate. Yes, she had some power that could heal but he realized that she was not so clever. She naively healed the one who came to abduct her and even warned him about her mates and sent him away.

’What if he really abducted her?’ He was not able to help but think of that possibility. Or was she like this with only him? That thought somewhat made him secretly satisfied. And the thought that surprised him amongst all these is that he didn’t find her weakness and naiveness repulsing, in fact, Kaizer admitted that it made her more endearing.

Kaizer felt irritated at himself for some reason. why was he letting that bunny affect him so much? First of all, why was his addressing her as a bunny? Yes, she looked small like a weak little prey in his eyes. Like a defenseless animal that he usually hunted to devour. He should forget about her, she is an insignificant, beautiful bunny...his bunny.

"What is wrong with me!?" He screamed at himself feeling vexed. Something was wrong with him, he never behaved like this. He went there to kidnap her but instead embarrassed himself by falling right in front of her and she laughed and teased him. He should feel angry and think about crushing her for her impudence but instead here was thinking about how adorable she looked while laughing at him.

He was not capable of this. He is a rootless beastman who cannot feel anything other than anger and emptiness. Kaizer suddenly got scared of his own train of thoughts, he needed to stop this. She conversed with him well because she didn’t know about his real identity and Kaizer bet that she would look at him with disgust and pity once she learns the truth.

Kaizer’s chest suddenly felt heavy thinking of the chance of her disdaining him in the future. Her beautiful smile directed at him would end up in contempt. He clenched his fists tightly and his entire body shuddered with unknown fear for the first time in his life.....Fear of getting hated by his bunny.
