Chapter 114: Come with me

As the rose castle was reduced in grief, Victor was still struggling to break free from the vines inside the forest.

He darted his eyes around his surroundings to get some help but found no one. Then as he decided to use all of his strength, the vines suddenly loosened allowing him an escape. Victor was confused but it happened because Kyrell’s energy was weakened because of Kenna.

Still, in his beast form, Victor flew up and started scanning for some tracks but returned after not finding anything.

Back inside the eagle tribe, Blake and Demir were anxiously waiting for Victor when they heard a loud screech of Vulture in the sky.

Victor flew down towards them and turned back into a beastman, "I was unable to catch him"

Blake frowned, "He is faster than you?"

Victor nodded, "He is faster and can also wield some kind of unusual powers?"

"Unusual powers?" Demir asked not understanding his words.

"It is kind of similar to Killian’s powers but not as destructive as Kenna" Victor explained, "Also he was completely able to control those powers to his advantage unlike Killian who wields it through Kenna"

And that made Demir and Blake stunned. Killian was able to wield powers only after taking control of Kenna as a shield against the destructive fire ability but this stranger was able to control it without any protection? They grew worried upon hearing this, Killian was currently not in a condition to get out of the house, and also most of his powers were still recovering after saving Lyra’s mother.

Three felt like they were useless and not strong enough to find their beloved. While they were lost in their own thoughts, a guard beastman from Lucas’s tribe hurried towards them, "Your majesties?"

They turned towards him and the guard said, "His highness Prince Lucas sent me to inform you that my lady has returned"

Blake widened his eyes, "Lilly returned?"

The guard nodded and at the next instant, three of them rushed out of the eagle tribe towards their home.

Back inside the rose castle, Lyra was still sobbing in her mother’s embrace while Killian and Lucas were seated on the stone chairs outside in the living room.

Blake, Victor, and Demir excitedly entered the place but halted their steps when they saw the other two in the living area with a grim faces.

"What happened to you both?" Victor was the one to break the awkward silence.

Blake got worried, "Lilly is safe, right?"

"Talk something!" Demir snapped after not receiving any answer from the two.

Blake sighed and wanted to look for Lyra when Theodore came out of the room, "Leave her alone until she calms down" he said looking at all of them.

Victor frowned, "Can someone please tell me what is going on? I’m getting worried"

Theodore glanced at him and started explaining, "A witch master examined Lyra as soon as she returned but it seems like she was poisoned with some kind of herb in the banquet which is putting the fetus in danger. He also said that the only solution now is to either abort the child or it might put Lyra in danger"

Blake looked at Lucas and the latter nodded his head, "The meat which she consumed in the banquet must have had a very potent poison for this to happen. But Ly is not willing to lose the child and is also not ready to talk to any of us"

"How much time do we have to decide this matter?" Victor asked nervously.

Lucas glanced at him and replied, "The witch master said that it must be done as soon as possible. The amount of time the poison remains inside, the more harm it might cause"

Blake held the wall for support and looked at Demir who was too shocked to speak, "Can you make an antidote?"

Demir snapped out his thoughts and shook his head, "I must study the poison first before creating an antidote, and I’m afraid we don’t have that much time. Even if I succeed in extracting an antidote, it might not work as the poison inside her must have already entered the fetus, and it might instead do more harm to Lyra’s body instead of helping"

Silence engulfed the entire area after hearing his words but it didn’t last long as Lyra’s loud crying broke it.

Inside the room, Iria frowned when her daughter clutched her stomach with pain laced face, "What’s wrong dear?" she didn’t respond and continued to whimper making Iria terrified, "Theo!"

Her father and others burst open the door and entered inside. Blake rushed towards the bed and took Lyra away from her mother, "Lilly!?"

Lyra clutched his hands and cried, "Blake it hu-hurts! My stomach hurts"

Lucas took a step out of the room, "I’ll bring back the witch master"

Not long after that, he returned with the witch master. The old man walked towards her and sighed after examining her, "We need to remove the fetus as soon as possible" he looked at Lucas and gave some herbs, "Boil this and get the concoction as soon as possible"

Lucas nodded and rushed towards the kitchen. While Lyra cast her hazy gaze at the old witch master, "What is that?"

He struggled to speak, "It is for inducing abortion my lady"

"No," she said weakly and turned towards Blake, "Please Blake.....I don’t want to do this"

Blake just hugged her, "It’ll be alright"

Lyra sobbed loudly making everyone’s heartache inside the room, "Please...stop this...I don’t want to lose my baby"

Her mother wiped her tears and glanced at Theodore and whispered, "Can’t we use the gem to save the child?"

Theodore shook his head sadly, "The gem would have already appeared if it wanted to help. It might not prioritize the fetus’s safety for Lyra’s" and that was true. As the gem has always been waiting particularly for Lyra’s arrival, it granted Iria’s wish in saving Lyra when she was a baby, but it might not be the case for others. And today is a normal day, unlike that day which was blood eclipse and hence the increase in gem’s powers.

"Everything is my fault," said Iria, "My daughter is going through so many hardships because of me. I should do something"

"What do you mean?"

She raised her head and clenched her fists, "I will go and ask Gregory for the antidote. He is doing all of this because he wants to get me out of the castle"

"Iria...." he started but she cut his words, "Don’t try to persuade me in this matter. I can’t see my daughter in this condition. I know the pain of losing one’s child and I never want my daughter to experience that, thanks for the gem I saved my child but the brief agony that I had to endure holding my baby’s lifeless body that day still haunts me"

Saying her words, she went out of the room with Theodore behind her. Iria first went into the kitchen and took hold of a sharp knife made from the bone leaving Lucas confused.

Theodore wanted to talk but Iria didn’t give him a chance and went towards the entrance to be only stopped by Killian.

"It is not safe for you to go out," he said calmly but Iria glared at him and shoved him away from her way, and stepped out.

Theodore too followed as Iria made her way out of the castle’s fence, "Come out Gregory"

Her guess was correct when she saw him coming out from his hiding. Gregory frowned looking at Theodore but his eyes mellowed seeing his beloved’s face. She was here in front of him breathing and that alone made him happy, "Iria..."

She stretched her hand, "Just as you want I’m out of the castle, so hand over the antidote"

Gregory raised his brows, "Antidote?"

"Don’t try to act Greg!" she shouted, "Lyra and her fetus are currently in danger because of the poison you ministered in her food. She needs the antidote as soon as possible"

"I didn’t know about her pregnancy when I ministered it" he was telling the truth. He just put it to make her unconscious without knowing that she was with child but he would not let this opportunity go to waste, "I’ll give you the antidote but tell Theodore to go inside"

"Gregory!" Theodore’s angry protest ran behind her but she turned to him and said, "Go inside Theo"

"Iria..." he said but she held the bone knife against her throat, "Go or I will kill myself"

This made both Theodore and Gregory panic. The merman anxiously looked at the knife, "Iria put that down"

"I’m going inside," said Theodore as he retreated inside the castle.

"Give me the antidote now or I will kill myself"

"Al-alright," Gregory said hastily and took out a small glass veil and stretched it towards her.

Iria glanced at Killian and the latter took the antidote and went inside.

After handing the veil, Gregory turned to Iria and said, "I have given it, now throw that knife away"

Iria’s eyes pooled with tears, "I promise that I will take my life if that antidote doesn’t work"

"It will!" he shouted, "After learning about her pregnancy I specifically made the antidote for the fetus, so both Lyra and the child will be alright after taking it"

"I don’t believe you," she said smiling sadly, "After all you have done, I can’t bring myself to trust you. Why did you change so much Greg?"

Gregory lowered his head, "I don’t care about the things I have done in past or which I might do in the future but the only thing that I know is that you must stay with me and no one else. I despise Theodore for stealing you away from me and I hate your daughter for making you sacrifice your life for saving her"

"You also know that I didn’t die because of my daughter right? The gem doesn’t exchange one’s life to grant a wish"

"But you didn’t know that when you made that wish" he reasoned, "You didn’t care and saved her, and I detest that. Why is she so important to you in your life and not me?"

Iria sighed, "All mothers think the same Gregory"

"I don’t care about others" he dismissed her words, "But I care when it is done by you so throw away that knife and come to me. Let us get out of this place and live together"

Iria clenched her jaw, "Gregory I’m curious about something"

"What is it?"

She smirked, "I’m curious about how you would feel if I slit my throat right in front of you?"

"Iria!" he warned her in a low voice.

"Are you getting scared?" she asked chuckling "Should I push it more to get a better reaction out of you?"

"Stop it Iria!" Gregory stepped towards her but froze when blood trickled down her throat, "I beg you...Please"

She removed the knife from her neck, "The suffering that you are going through now is what I felt when I saw my daughter crying just a moment ago. If you understand, then stop hurting her and leave her alone"

His gaze flickered, "I will promise to not hurt her if you stay with me. That is all that I ask"

Iria turned back to the castle and saw Theodore’s figure in the distance. She would regret this decision but it didn’t matter if this would keep her mate and daughter safe from this sick bastard. He didn’t hesitate to poison Lyra to get to her and she was not ready to test more of his limits by putting her daughter in danger anymore.

Dropping the knife, she whirled around and stepped towards him, "Let’s go"

Gregory smiled and Theodore widened his eyes but he was unable to reach her before they teleported.
