ALPHA MAVERICK’S POV

’I can’t mark her when she is unconscious like this, but this is what I can do. She won’t feel I am forcing her into it. You know how it works. It’s not only up to me.

If she ever felt 50% attracted to me, this manipulation would work, or it would flop terribly. I don’t care if she has a mate out there. I want her, Reaper. You and I both need her,’ I said before I licked the blood drops from the corner of her mouth.

’What did you do, Maverick? Your mate betrayed you and left, but how could you do this to her? Why do you keep forgetting you are not actually a beta just because you are pretending to be one? You are an alpha, for god’s sake,’ Reaper said, and I hummed.

I sighed and just looked at the girl in front of me who was sleeping like there was no tomorrow.

’Sometimes I wonder if Valencia brings out the side of you that you hide from the world. Why are you acting jealous of something that isn’t even the case, hmm?’ Reaper asked, and I pressed my lips into a thin line.

’Shut up. Let me sleep. I need to ensure I leave before she wakes up too,’ I said to Reaper who hummed.

I closed my eyes and was about as sleep started to take over me too.

However, before I could completely surrender myself to resting, my phone vibrated.

Afraid that it would wake up Valencia, I quickly silenced it before removing her from on top of me slowly.

Seeing it was Shadow’s call, I knew it was something important.

I walked to the balcony and placed the phone near my ears.

"Sir, we captured one of the rogues who was lurking in the forests. You were right. The rogues probably were trying to find Valencia’s location as the rogue was captured only one km away from Valencia’s house. Are you coming?" Shadow asked.

I sighed. Just like I was expecting.

Well now that the rogue is captured I would like to know what exactly Valencia did to get on their bad side.

I looked at the girl and walked to her before placing my lips on her soft lips.

Yes. I know I could’ve gone for the forehead kiss, but after tasting her lips, I wanted to try the forbidden fruit only.

I don’t even know why I did that as if I did something bad when I didn’t. I scowled at my own actions before going straight to the dungeons.

"Open the doors," I said, my mood leaving all the happiness right on that balcony I jumped from.

As soon as the cell was unlocked, I walked to the rogue and sat in the chair placed right in front of him.

"I am sure you know why you have been captured," I grabbed the chin of the rogue, who was already bleeding.

He raised his gaze, looking directly into my eyes.

A scoff left my mouth. Wasn’t he just daring enough?

"What are you looking at? Your death?" I smirked before punching him in the jaws, making his head whip to the side, the sound of the heavy chains moving echoing in the dungeons as the other prisoners started to near the cell to see what was going on.

"Go back," I said in a low voice, but I am sure all those prisoners heard me pretty well as they went back to the corners of their cells, knowing all too well that if I got angry, they might be my next target.

"What were you doing in the forest? What have you guys been planning? I want all the details," I said.

Honestly, though I said all those words, I hardly believed the rogue would give in immediately. They never do.

Even after setting so many examples every single one of them tries to test my patience and their luck, and this rogue was no different.

The rogue smirked at me.

"What makes you think I will betray my people for you, Alpha?" He asked, and I sighed.

Of course, the same dialogue, every single time.

I turned my head and looked at Shadow who nodded at Luca, who brought the burner ahead.

He placed a small container on the burner before filling it with oil.

The fear in the rogue’s eyes while the oil was boiling was enough to make me smile in satisfaction, but what’s the use of satisfaction without action?

I chuckled at him when he started pulling his hand back.

"Why? What happened? Are you not confident anymore?" I asked before placing his hand in the boiling oil, making him scream.

The entire dungeon fell silent as all the prisoners, if not hiding in the corner earlier, surely did well in keeping silent.

He screamed and screamed as I saw his hand literally cooking in the oil.

"So you were saying something about not betraying your people. Are we ready to talk now? Because if not, I kind of hate the way your eyes looked at me when I entered," I asked before leaving his hand, making him pull back immediately as he looked at his burnt hand while screaming in pain.

"Let’s go over the questions again. What were you doing near my territory?" I asked, waiting for the man to stop screaming because it was seriously getting on my nerves now.
