Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna
Chapter 51: Invitation

Chapter 51: Invitation

"Valencia! You naughty brat! The founders are roaming in the University. Look at you eating in the corridors so carelessly. Do you really not care about a- ?" The dean stopped talking when I glared at him.

He cleared his throat before looking away briefly.

"Why? What’s that? Why are you looking at me like this?" He asked me, and I looked at him for a good few seconds before sighing and shaking my head.

"Despite my naughtiness and your angry banter with me, I thought you still cared about me. But seeing how easily you sided with the management and blamed me, I guess I was wrong about you," I shook my head before walking around him.

The dean stood there frozen for some time before he followed me.

"Hey, what do you mean? Who told you all this stuff? You don’t even know everything. Go ask the principal how much I defended you. How can you say that I don’t care about you? I indeed recommended you to the founders despite knowing how much you will hate the role, but that’s also because I wanted you to gain some credits. I always treated you like my own child, and this is what you have to say to me?" The dean looked at me with a hurt expression.

I looked at him blankly before shrugging my shoulders.

"Okay," I said.

"Okay?" He asked.

"Yes. I was just testing you. Now that you have clarified things between us, I don’t think we have any other problems," I said with a smile on my face, and the dean glared at me when he realized I was just tricking him to save myself from getting the scolding.

You just wait and watch, sir. Now that you are back, you will see what I will have to do at your home today. I grinned inwardly before turning around.

I was about to enter the class when I felt someone staring at me, and I paused when I saw who it was.

"Hey?" I looked at Henry, who was looking at me as if he saw a ghost or something.

"Oh, hey," He said, shaking his head, which I found a bit weird.

"What are you doing here, coming to College the first thing when you just suffered like that?" He asked, which was clearly a cover-up of his earlier thoughts.

"I am fine," I said cautiously before walking inside the classroom.

I went and sat in my usual seat, placing my backpack on the desk.

Teachers after teachers arrived and left, while I just looked out of the window, listening to them from time to time.

I wasn’t thinking about it earlier, but why did it look like this pre-planned attack was kind of designed for me?

There is no doubt that I have created enemies among the rogues and they would find any possible opportunity to strike at me.

I was left with two choices. First, staying close to Carl and Shadow who can ensure my safety, and the other one was handling this situation myself.

I preferred handling this situation myself, but the main problem was, I didn’t know just what kind of rogues I was dealing with.

If these were the same rogues who were planning against the Dark Callisto pack and wanted me out because I ruined their plans, things would get more messy than I can imagine. They are professional planners.

If some other rogues are after me because I did something against them in the past, it would be quite easy, but I will have to ensure I don’t get caught by Shadow or any other Dark Callisto pack members because these rogues probably also know that I am rogue too and this word alone with make everyone go against me.

Among all these things, there was also my situation with the royal mission. I have agreed on doing it, and though befriending Shadow has brought me closer to my target, it’s not exactly a walk on the beach.

Ping!

The sound of my message notification brought me out of my thoughts, and I furrowed my brows.

I looked at the unknown number. It wasn’t a private number this time. I clicked on the message to open it, my finger freezing on the screen when I saw what it was.

My heart thumped loudly in my chest, and I took a shaky breath.

It was an invitation card.

The invitation card of the engagement of Matilda and Alpha Tyler. The name of the pack, the pack that gave me my biggest nightmares and became the reason for my hatred toward the entire species was displayed in large bold letters under Tyler’s name. Hazel Moon Pack.

I didn’t need to know who sent me this invitation, and a mocking smile appeared on my face.

So it wasn’t enough for my lovely sister that she seduced and took away my mate. She had to ensure I was still hurting from their betrayal by sending me this invitation, refreshing my wounds.

These people really never cease to amaze me and show just how low a person can stoop.

’Valencia, are you really okay?’ Aurora asked in a soft voice, and I chuckled inwardly.

Why wouldn’t I be okay?

I mean, I can blame the moon goddess for what she is making me go through, and ask her if I really deserve all this, but then again, will that be of any use?

Look at those cheaters, those people who hurt me, living the best moments of their life together.

The parents who were supposed to worry for their daughter, never even once tried to find out if their daughter was alive and were probably living every moment with joy because they were tying knots with the alpha of the pack.

The mate? Was I even supposed to feel anything against him? I was the one who placed him on the pedestal and called him a hero for those four years. That was probably the reason his betrayal hurt me

so much.

And after placing him down from that pedestal, I could see that he was so normal, in fact, worse than other men I have met over time, but at the end of the day, no matter what I said, he was my mate.

Was I feeling okay? No. I wasn’t.

I was feeling angry.

I was hurt once again because the moon goddess was making me question karma. Why was it that they were so happy after tormenting me, and I was still suffering and barely surviving?

Tears brimmed my eyes. The more I thought about the invitation, the angrier I became. This world was really an unfair place, especially people like me who try to live by rules. Probably my naivety was my biggest fault all these years.

I wanted to throw my phone across the room, and punch a tree or something, but that wasn’t the solution to my anger.

As soon as the bell rang, I stood from my seat to leave.

I know this was Shadow’s lecture and normally I would’ve stayed, but I didn’t want to. I didn’t want him to see this vulnerable side of me.

I can’t allow the same person to see me vulnerable twice.

"Valencia -" I could hear Shadow calling me from some distance, but I didn’t stop.

I kept running until I reached the ground and without stopping for anything, I ran straight towards the gates of the University.

However, as soon as I turned around, I bumped into someone, and I looked up, my gaze meeting with the confused blue eyes.

"I... Do you know how fast you run? It nearly broke my legs to catch up with you," Aiden breathed heavily, and I clenched my jaws.

"Leave me alone, Aiden. I am not in the mood to talk to anyone," I said and Aiden sighed.

"I know. I saw you seeing something on your phone and becoming angry. Don’t worry. Just like all the time, I am not going to ask you what it is, but if you are really angry and need a place to take your anger out, I can take you somewhere," Aiden said and I looked at him.

"Where?" I asked.

"A club," Aiden said.

His words immediately enraged me more than before, and I was about to comment when he interrupted me.

"It’s not the kind of club you might be thinking of. It’s a street fighting club run by my dad. You can earn money too," He said.

"Take me there immediately," I said without thinking twice, and he sighed in relief before holding my hand and pulling me straight to his car.
