Chapter 50: Arousing situation

VALENCIA’S POV

[Good morning, Princess.] I read the message as soon as I woke up and sighed.

Whoever this person was, was either completely mad or trying to make me go crazy.

[There is nothing good about this morning.] I replied groggily before dragging my body to freshen up.

’Today is our first day,’ Aurora chimed in as I brushed my teeth.

’First day after surviving the life threatening incident?’ I looked at my reflection, pulling down my shirt to see if the black ink stain was still there.

It was barely visible now.

’First day of our friendship with Shadow. Let’s see how he treats us,’ She said, and I rolled my eyes at her.

You can expect my wolf to act like it wasn’t the first day of our friendship but was some kind of relationship.

After quickly bathing and dressing up, I descended the stairs, furrowing my brows when I noticed the breakfast was already on the table with a note near it.

"Eat well. Leaving early for the meeting." The note was precise and I shrugged before gobbling the food.

Who knows how long I will get to eat this food without doing any work? I might as well enjoy every second of it.

[Shall I make your morning beautiful then, love?] I read the message on the phone and couldn’t help but smile.

This guy was trying quite hard.

[And how do you plan on doing that?] I hit the send button before leaving for the University.

As soon as I reached the gates, the first thing I noticed was a Black Maybach parked at the entrance.

Someone was feeling too rich-

I couldn’t even complete my thoughts when I saw Shadow stepping out of it.

To say I stood there with my jaws dropped would be an understatement. Has he always come to University with this car? Why didn’t I notice it before?

Wait. Wasn’t he driving a Black Audi Panther edition yesterday?

Why was this beta so damn rich calling me poor in 100 different car languages?

But was his car the only admirable thing here?

He was looking damn handsome in this royal blue shirt with his sleeves folded to his elbows. And what was with this weird habit of keeping two buttons open? Was he showing off his perfectly chiseled chest that girls would want to lick?

I gulped my saliva, taking a shaky breath at his drool-worthy figure.

’Even wolves like me want to lick, but that’s not the only thing I want to lick. IYKYK,’ Aurora chimed in and heat crept up my neck.

’I didn’t need that or any kind of assurance from you Aurora,’ I gritted my teeth, clenching my legs a bit at the kind of image this lusty wolf portrayed in my head.

"Miss Valencia," He walked up to me, and I looked at him as if I was drunk.

Yes. I was truly drunk in his hotness, and all I wanted was nothing more than to press my lips against those pink lips. I wanted to kiss him.

"Kiss?" Shadow asked me with quirked brows, and I widened my eyes.

Did I say those words out loud? Heat crept up my neck, and I was about to apologize when Aurora chimed in.

’You didn’t say anything. He is asking you something else. But you can say no and kiss him too. Starting with his lip, traveling all the way-’ She giggled, and I cleared my head with those nasty thoughts before looking at him.

"Are you angry with me because of that kiss?" Shadow asked, stepping close to me.

I stepped back subconsciously, but before I could take another step, he snuck his hand around my waist and pulled me closer, making my breath hitch.

What the hell was this man doing? We were in public?

Is he hell-bent on ruining my image and involving me in some nasty rumors - ?

"There’s no one around here," Shadow said as if he read the turmoil in my eyes, and I cleared my throat.

"W-well, yeah. Of course, that kiss bothered me. You can’t catch me off-guard like this. How can you do something atrocious like that and -?"

"Did you not like it?" He asked me, pulling me even closer.

’Tell him I liked it. In fact, we would’ve loved those luscious lips on our lips both horizontal and vertical,’ Aurora whispered and I choked on my own saliva.

’Aurora!’ I warned the nasty wolf before putting up the mind barrier.

I swear this wolf has some weird fantasy ideas. No wonder she keeps on telling me to read those erotica books and -

"When will you stop going to your imaginary land when talking to someone?" Shadow whispered softly.

I nearly had a heart attack when our bodies almost touched, and I felt something wet in my panties.

Having him smell my arousal when I am denying a kiss on my cheeks would be embarrassment at its peak, and I didn’t want to go through it.

"I-I think we can talk with some distance too," I said, pushing him away a little.

"Some distance?" He pulled away and looked at me quizzically, the innocent look on his face making me feel guilty immediately, and all I wanted to do was grab his collars and pull him close to comfort him.

But...

Control Valencia! This is not you! It’s your wolf who is giving you these ideas. I reprimanded myself.

"The lecture will start soon," Shadow said, and I hummed before turning around to leave.

"By the way," Shadow started, and I looked at him curiously.

"Wait for me," He walked to his car before bringing out what looked like a box.

"Here. Enjoy it," He said, and I opened the box with raised brows.

The box contained 4 different flavors of pastries, and I looked up at him.

"For me?" I asked.

"If I am giving it to you and asking you to enjoy it, I think it’s for you," Shadow said, and I smiled at him, scratch that, I was grinning ear to ear.

Food was really one of my weaknesses that I wouldn’t be able to overcome easily.

"Usually, I don’t take things from others, but because you are my friend now, I am taking it," I said, and he looked at me amused.

"I understand," he said before leaning on the pillar as he looked at me.

I was tempted to eat it. There was no lie in it. But if I ate it right away, would it make me look like I was being too greedy and childish? I pouted my lips with a sigh.

Sometimes I hate how we have to behave in front of others. Can’t we do whatever our heart says?

I closed the lid of the box before smiling at Shadow half-heartedly.

"Why are you not eating it? There are still 10 minutes to the lecture, and I am sure despite the lack of a wolf, your speed still should be better than humans," Shadow said, and I looked at the pastries.

’Stop acting like you are contemplating. In your head you have already decided to give in,’ Aurora said, breaking free from the mind barrier, and I sighed.

She knows me too well.

I opened the box and grabbed the spoon on the side before taking a big chunk of the chocolate truffle pastry.

"Is it good?" Shadow asked me, and I nodded happily with my mouth full.

"Zzs guff," I said with my stuffed mouth, and he smiled again before wiping my lips with his thumb, making my heart skip a beat when he licked his thumb, his eyes not leaving me all the while he did this.

"Indeed. It’s good," He said before he turned around and left, leaving me flabbergasted.

’Aurora, tell me if I am wrong, but is it only me who thinks he is taking advantage of the friendship thing to flirt with us?’ I asked.

Aurora didn’t say anything in reply, and I stuffed my mouth with another chunk of pastry to ease the anxiousness in my heart.

’Well, all I can say is, if he doesn’t have a mate, I don’t have a problem making him mine. I bet those pants store a big D there,’ Aurora said after some time, and I nearly choked on my food.

What was wrong with the people around me? I shook my head before walking inside the building, eating my pastries with a heavy heart.
