Chapter 362: Luna Ceremony

THIRD PERSON’S POV

Everything was finally falling into place for Valencia and Maverick.

The rogues attacking and making things difficult for the other alphas, and their packs were now settled and acting docile. Now that Glacier was gone, they followed the rules and regulations. Most of the rogues who were acting rashly were being hunted down by Axile’s rogue team, which was acting ruthlessly now more than ever.

Since Axile was now the Alpha King, rather than ignoring the matters of the pack, he acted reclined towards them and helped them as much as he could.

King David was really happy with how his son ruled and took things into his own hands.

The members of the Phoenix Pack were still living in their respective packs, but word spread that they would soon leave. Under the council’s jurisdiction, the alphas were more than happy to have their members return to their original packs.

Since Phoenix Blood was related to her mother, Valencia gave her pack a new name with a hint of the previous one rather than take it away.

She decided to name her Phoenix Ashrise pack since their pack was rising from the ashes.

Other than that, Valencia was overseeing Tory and Jason’s training under Maverick, who was acting nothing less than ruthless toward them.

Tory occasionally complained that she didn’t make Theo undergo such training and was deliberately torturing him and Jason because he hid the truth. Still, Valencia just rolled her eyes at his complaints.

Alfonso did a great job acting as the messenger and convincing the other species to join the interspecies war.

More than that, he even collected data on how many people from all the species had gone missing and were suspected of being taken by the devil.

The number atrociously crossed 900 people, which was really concerning as the numbers were only increasing.

Maverick also helped build the area close to the Dark Callisto Pack, giving Valencia even earlier access to her new pack and its people.

The Lycans had also shifted in the pack and were now participating in its security, along with the female Lycans living right outside Maverick’s and Valencia’s place, to ensure they were there for her whenever needed.

"Do I look okay?" Valencia asked as she looked at her reflection in the mirror.

"You look as beautiful as an angel straight from heaven. I can see the hints of Luna Avantika inside you," Samantha, one of the members of the Phoenix Blood Pack, said.

Valencia smiled, tears brimming her eyes for no particular reason. Lovely stepped ahead, pressing the tissue against the corner of Luna’s eyes to dab the tears away.

"I don’t know why I am feeling so emotional today," Valencia said, and Lovely chuckled.

"It’s your pregnancy hormones reacting, Luna. Don’t worry about anything. Everything will be fine," Lovely said.

Valencia nodded.

Today was the Luna ceremony, where she would formally become part of the pack and develop her pack bond.

Everyone was excited to bond with Luna, and Valencia was also thrilled, but her heart felt uneasy for some reason.

It was almost as if something terrible was about to happen.

Then again, she had been feeling like this since the moment she heard the attack would happen in twenty-six days.

Only three days remained until the next full moon, and to say she was anxious would be an understatement.

The people from other species, the ones they signed the peace treaty with to partake in the war, were also invited to her Luna ceremony along with the alphas and Luna from around the world.

"Shall we go, Luna? The alpha is growing anxious," Liam said from out of the door. The girls inside the room chuckled, making Valencia blush scarlet.

It was just her Luna ceremony; why were they making it sound like it was her marriage with the man or something?

"Hey, stop teasing our Luna," Charlotte fake scolded everyone, making them giggle even more.

Valencia smiled at the people around her before shaking her head and opening the door.

As soon as her gaze met Liam, the guy bowed to her and rowed his gaze over her respectfully, something he always does whenever he sees her.

The guy has grown so protective of her that one would mistake him for her brother.

Even a cut as small as two centimeters on her fingers doesn’t go unnoticed by him.

"Let’s go," Valencia said, and Liam nodded, his hand tightening on his sword as he walked ahead of her, making Valencia’s heart swell with happiness and pride.

After walking a short distance, they finally arrived at the ceremony venue, where all the alphas and Lunas stood from their places to respect Valencia and her wolf.

Seeing all the alphas and Luna standing, Aurora stood from her place and exerted her energy and power on Valencia, immediately changing the aura around her.

The subordinates of lower ranks than the beta were forced on their knees as Aurora only exerted a little of her presence.

She didn’t want to make the alpha and Luna bow, who came here to respect her and, thus, held back on her powers.

"Please be seated," Valencia said politely to them before she walked to the stage, where her man was already waiting for her.

He extended his hand to her, and Valencia ascended several stairs. She stood before him with a dazzling smile, dressed in a red gown with a little train behind her.

"You look beautiful," Maverick said, tucking her hair behind her ears. He was about to lean to kiss her lips when someone behind her coughed. Maverick held back with a disappointed expression, which made everyone chuckle.

"Let’s start the Luna ceremony, Alpha. You can have her later," one of the alphas in the crowd said, and Valencia blushed.

"Hey, no one will make her uncomfortable, only I will do that," Maverick grinned, and Valencia slapped his chest playfully.

"Shut up," She mouthed, and he grinned even more.

"First, I would like to introduce Valencia to everyone. As we all know –" Maverick explained how things turned out to be how they were today.

He started by explaining how they met, what led to his affection for her, and how they went through all those ordeals together and crossed the bridges to be with each other before realizing they were true mates.

Before holding Valencia’s hand, he also explained Valencia’s strength and all their recent projects.

"I, Alpha Maverick Aurelius, the son of the moon goddess, Alpha of the Dark Callisto Pack, hereby announce, my mate, the love of my life, Valencia Phoenix, as the Luna of the Dark Callisto pack," Maverick said in a loud voice as Reaper and Aurora stood from their places in their head space.

As soon as the beast Alpha and the monstrous Luna, the favorite of the look goddess, made their presence known, all the alphas and Luna were forced to bare their necks to them to show complete submission.

This wasn’t intended, but it was unavoidable. The wolves had to stand for the ceremony.

Shadow walked to the alpha with the heirloom bowl of the Dark Callisto pack, and Maverick didn’t waste a second slicing his palm and letting his blood drop in the bowl.

Seeing how Valencia would need to give her blood too, his brows furrowed, and Valencia chuckled before she leaned and placed her lips on his cheeks.

"I love you," She whispered, slicing her palm at the same time and letting her blood drop inside the bowl.

As soon as the blood mixed, it evaporated immediately, forming a bond between them.

Valencia, who had been leaning forward earlier, stumbled. The congratulatory voices of the pack members who filled her pack mind link almost knocked her down.

Seeing Valencia’s contorted expression, Maverick used his alpha voice to shun everyone instantly.

Valencia stabilized herself by holding Maverick’s hand before taking a deep breath. As her bond formed, her reduced voice made it easy for her to adapt.

"Are you feeling okay?" Maverick asked.

Valencia looked up and nodded in agreement.

"Good, because you have to be ready for the next part," Maverick said, and Valencia furrowed her brows.

Next part? What next part was he talking about?
