Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna
Chapter 336: Strike a deal

Chapter 336: Strike a deal

VALENCIA’S POV

After meeting the packs and their respective alphas on our way back, we reached Dark Callisto Pack just half an hour ago and were sitting before Axile, who arrived to invite us to the crowning ceremony.

Since King David felt apologetic, he decided to crown Axile on the next full moon in a couple of days.

"You will come, right?" Axile asked me.

I sighed.

I wanted to go, but...

I nipped at my fingers, unsure.

"We will come," Maverick answered, holding my hand to comfort me.

I looked at him, a little surprised by his words.

Wasn’t he who told me not to leave the pack during the full moon because my wolf would be the most powerful that day compared to other days of the month?

"I will keep you in control," Maverick whispered to me, and I smiled at his choice of words.

Axile smiled at us before his expression turned solemn.

"What is it?" Maverick asked, already sensing something was wrong.

"Ethan has been seen wandering near the southern regions. Before my men could catch him, the rogues of the region cornered them, and they barely saved their lives while retreating," Axile said.

It wasn’t hard to decipher what he was trying to say.

So, the rogue support that Ethan has been flaunting and thriving on was from the rogues of the Southern regions.

However, as far as I remember, Glacier became the leader only a few years back. How come Ethan knows him? Could Ethan have been providing them with resources from the royal Kingdom, which was precisely how he had been operating?

"Your guess is right. Glacier took over the rogues of the southern regions when the leader died in a pack rivalry. Glacier had once fought with me, the reason for the scar he holds. At that time, he had sworn to come back stronger. Some rumors support how Glacier might have been the one behind the death of the original leader, but no one investigated."

Maverick said.

I hummed in response.

"So what about him?" I asked.

It was clear that Ethan would attack the royal Kingdom with the rogues of the southern regions. I wanted to know if he knew when the attack was planned.

"We have no idea so far, but surely he won’t let me get the throne so easily," Axile said.

I took a deep breath and stood from my place. These days, I seriously feel like I need a smoke or a strong sedative to relax my mind.

"Well, that can’t be helped. Are you here to look for some kind of support or help?" I asked.

Axile paused as he looked at me for a few seconds before he hummed.

"I don’t want to play with words and would like to be straightforward. I need your help, specifically Alpha Maverick’s help, because I know you can’t tolerate blood," Axile looked at Maverick, who leaned back in his chair.

Axile and Maverick discussed a few things, including how he needed support from our team because, though he could trust his rogues, who had been with him through thick and thin, he didn’t want to rely on them completely because they were rogues.

His father and other soldiers might not appreciate the rogues intervening in their security. If something happened later, they might blame it on his team, and it was the last thing he wanted to happen—to have his team take the blame for something they didn’t even do just because they were rogues.

To him, they were more family-like than the royalty itself.

Since Ethan had stayed in the royal palace for so long, he was unsure who was on his side and who was loyal to the royal people. Heck, even Dilbar was unreliable in his eyes.

Honestly, I understood where he was coming from. Given his circumstances, if I had been in his place, I would’ve been equally or even more wary of everyone around me.

Maverick looked at me as if trying to get the last signal before making any decision, and I smiled at his thoughtfulness. It was his army and his people, and since I had yet to become their luna, it was really commendable how he made me feel involved in everything.

"I have a condition," I said.

Maverick smirked before looking down.

It was almost as if he knew I wouldn’t offer any help for free, and a blush crept up my neck. He knows me too well. Probably that was another reason why he waited for me.

"What kind of condition?" Axile asked.

His expression was calm as if he were capable of giving or helping me with everything I would need, and I couldn’t help but smile. He was too confident.

"Fallen angels, ever heard of them?" I asked.

Axile raised his eyebrows at me.

"Yes, what about them?" He asked.

"I heard they have been banished to the Aravali ranges. Can you arrange for someone to bring them to me or me to them? Obviously, I need someone who has complete knowledge of the area and the people before entering their business," I said.

Axile, who was sipping on his juice, coughed on it and looked at me with his pupils dilated.

"You want to meet them?" he asked.

"Not just meet them. They might have something I can use for a higher purpose, and I have to have a heart-to-heart talk with them," I said.

Axile looked at Maverick as if trying to decipher whether I was serious about my pursuit of the sinful species.

"It’s important," I added.

Axile took a deep breath and dabbed the corner of his lips before humming.

"I understand. I have someone in my group who once lived close to those ranges. His name is Tobias. I will have him come and meet you. Since the function is in a few days, you can take his help and meet those angels first. If your work is done, you can help me. Sounds like a good deal?" He asked.

I hummed before nodding at Maverick, who immediately smiled and struck a deal with Axile.
