Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna
Chapter 335: Fallen angels

Chapter 335: Fallen angels

VALENCIA’S POV

"Is it done?" I asked, finally standing from my place.

I waited for someone to object. However, everyone had the same helpless expression on their faces. And why not? They had nothing to counter our words. We beat them to it, fair and square.

’You did well,’ I said to Maverick, who raised his eyebrows.

’Well, thank you, my lady, for the appreciation. Can I look forward to some reward from my Highness?’ Maverick said meticulously, and I chuckled at his words inwardly.

I know exactly what kind of reward he was talking about.

As I sighed, I saw someone standing from the corner of my eyes and couldn’t help but smirk.

Right. That was exactly what I was wondering about. How come the whole thing passed without anyone trying to attack me? How come they took my position without retaliating?

I saw Shadow gazing at the person, too, but I told Maverick I wanted to deal with this myself. He ordered Shadow to stay in his place and let the person reach me.

I sat leisurely, waiting for the person to think they were slick and could sneak closer to me without being noticed. Seeing the harm blade peeking from their pocket, my gaze turned dark as Aurora stood from her place.

’No blood,’ I reminded Aurora, who rolled her eyes but nodded nonetheless.

I know it was the most problematic for her to control her urges, but she was doing it for herself, and her trying was more than enough for me to keep pushing forward and give it my all.

"Luna Valencia!" Kyle shouted when the person appeared right before me, extending their dagger to stab me.

I smiled at the person, grabbing her hand that held the dagger.

"You guys know, I was just wondering why none of us acted impulsively and attacked me. How could the place where I was bullied thoroughly take my orders without retaliating? But alas, you guys didn’t disappoint me," I said, looking Claire in the eyes.

There was pure agony in her eyes, and I smirked.

"What are you smiling for? All you did was whore around and get the attention of a much more powerful alpha. Why should we respect a dirty whore like you?" Claire asked, struggling to free her hand from my grip.

I raised my brows.

"Your fanbase appalls me, Matilda," I said, and the girl raised her brows.

"Did you really think I wouldn’t know you would try something like this?" I asked.

I knew Claire did it because Matilda brainwashed him, but when was I supposed to take their bullying without retaliating? Did they really not understand when I said I wasn’t here to play this time?

Without waiting for anyone to say anything, I pulled the dagger from her hand and sliced her face.

Claire screamed in agony.

"Luna Valencia! This is too much! You are misusing your powers," Joseph, as always the righteous one, said, and I chuckled.

"Too much? Misuse of powers? If I hadn’t seen her in time, I would’ve been lying here dead. Isn’t that an attempt to murder? The last time I remembered, I got fifty whippings just because someone said I stole something that wasn’t even proven. Keeping that in mind, I think I was quite lenient, don’t you think?" I asked.

Joseph looked at the elders, hoping for them to speak, but none of them uttered a word.

"Fifty whippings?" Maverick asked, his voice deep and full of lethal energy, making me turn my head to him.

"Reaper, that’s not what you should be focusing on. It’s over and –" I couldn’t even complete my words when Maverick appeared by my side and twisted Claire’s neck.

The snapping of her neck echoed in the silent hall before her body fell with a ’thud’ sound.

I stood there, frozen in my spot.

"Mav–" I started, but he beat me to it.

"Fifty whiplashes for an unproven thievery. It only made sense to give the death sentence for an attempt to murder. You shouldn’t be so lenient. We shall not try to change the laws of the Hazel Moon Pack," Maverick said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

I sighed, a bit conscious of how Aurora was swooning at our man because he killed someone for us.

Everyone stood there, motionless, before Kyle ordered some people to discard Claire’s body.

Since no one said anything since Alpha Maverick acted this time, I commenced the alpha ceremony and made Theo the alpha of the Hazel Moon Pack.

I only gave him the throne while Maverick completed the ceremony in my absence, as he didn’t want me to smell any blood and have my mind lose it.

As I walked outside with Liam tailing me to ensure my safety, I saw the same old lady from the morning. I smiled at her briefly before taking another turn. I was about to leave when her words stopped me.

"There was indeed something she used to say," the old lady said. Her words caught my attention, and I raised my brows.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

She didn’t say anything in the morning. Could it be that she couldn’t remember anything at that time due to old age, but now she remembered something?

"Emily. She used to ask me a question. Can fallen angels really sacrifice one of their own for the world’s welfare? Can the weapons built be enough for them to atone for their sins?" The old lady said.

Her words confused me.

Fallen angels? Weren’t they the most scared angels that weren’t allowed to mend the lives of any supernaturals? Why would they be involved in something related to a mortal like me? Especially a curse that includes the death of the devil that has arisen?

Thinking that it was just old age getting to her, I smiled at her and thanked her for her words before continuing my walk.

"What was the old lady talking about, Luna?" Liam asked me, and I pressed my lips when something caught my attention.

The fallen angels, she said?

"Happy!" I shouted, and as soon as I did that, the bird flew towards me straight from the sky, stopping right before me and sitting in my extended hand.

"Do you know anything about fallen angels? You once said something about protecting me from all kinds of fallen and active angels, didn’t you?" I asked.

"Can you understand your words?" Liam asked, surprised, and I smirked.

"If I were you, I would be careful of my words," I said to him, and he cleared his throat, probably remembering what had happened at the royal palace.

The bird got down from my hands and started writing something on the soil with his toes. I chuckled at his way of walking like a minion, and he glared at me as always, making me giggle even louder.

’What? You are funny when you walk like that," I said.

He shook his head before continuing what he was writing.

"The Aravali hills have them. They were banished there after they defied the moon goddess and their messengers and have been paying for their sins by living like a mortal," Happy wrote before he scrunched its brows and flew to sit on my shoulder.

"Tired already?" I asked, and it nuzzled its head in the crook of my neck to let me know he was indeed tired, and I smiled.

I know he doesn’t like writing but always goes out of his way to communicate with me, and his efforts really warm my heart.

Satisfied with what I had gained from coming here, I hugged the bird close before turning when I felt my man’s presence.

He left the meeting hall and gave me one of those dazzling smiles.

I looked at Liam, who immediately rubbed what Happy had written when I saw more people coming out.

I saw Maverick’s gaze flicker to the ground before returning to me, and I smiled at him.

"Are we ready to go?" I asked, but before Maverick could answer, Theo stopped me.

"Are you not going to stay here for some time? I mean, you can wait and see if I am doing good and have stood up to your expectations," Theo said.

I hummed.

"I would’ve stayed, but this isn’t exactly the best place for me, especially when I am trying my best to keep my nerves relaxed for obvious reasons. Besides, I want to use all the time I have with Maverick. Who knows if I’ll get to see the –"I paused, feeling suddenly emotional.

As much as I avoided this topic, I knew this was the truth. With everything going on and everyone warning me about my transformation, I wasn’t sure if I could survive. Though they are silent about its danger, I can feel it, too.

If I survive thus, I have this devil to kill. Everyone knows I am a hundred times weaker than him, yet according to them, only I can do this.

Maverick held my hand and intertwined his fingers with mine.

"You will see our fiftieth anniversary too,’ Maverick lifted my hand and kissed the back of my hand, making me smile.

"Hmm," I hummed before taking a deep breath.
