Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna -
Chapter 25: Temptation
Chapter 25: Temptation
VALENCIA’S POV
"Are you really alright? You have been dazed from the moment you came," Casper asked me for the umpteenth time, and I smiled at him, a little forcefully I must add.
Was I fine? I don’t know.
All I know is that it was a really close call. I don’t know why this was happening suddenly. I have been living here for 6 months and nullifying these rogues’ plans and fighting them, but never once I was this close to being caught as today.
It’s like from the moment I met Shadow, he has placed some kind of radar on me. I am sure he isn’t tapping me because I know how to handle all those things, but how the hell does he reach everywhere I am sooner or later?
I can’t even imagine what kind of questions and explanations I would have to form if they had caught me. However, something about his eyes told me he kind of already guessed it was me.
Though I was wearing lenses to hide my eyes too, it was the little pause that he took when he saw me, almost as if he allowed me to run away.
Then again, why would that man help me? He has no reason to. Rather, he must be anxious to catch me red-handed so that he can bring me to his alpha and get this case over with. I was just giving him too much credit for sure.
Do you know what was the worst thing among all this? Money!
After working so hard, it was their wallet that caught my immediate attention, but this time because I was afraid of being caught, I couldn’t take any cash from them, and it strangely pisses me off.
"Your best friend is here," Casper said bitterly, and I turned my head to look at Aiden, who was looking around to locate our seats.
As soon as his gaze locked with mine, he smiled before making his way towards us. We were sitting in the last row with the corner seats occupied by Casper and Angela.
Yeah yeah... they were love birds and couldn’t keep their hands to themselves even in the theater.
"Damn, is that man walking towards us? Look at how handsome he is."
"This is insane. Do you think I have a chance?"
"Let’s hope he sits somewhere near us."
I could hear some girls talking around us, and I suppressed the urge to roll my eyes. If only Aiden could hear these words, his already skyrocketed ego would reach the moon.
"What took you so long? It’s almost starting," I asked as he sat beside me, not at all expecting him to take my hand right after sitting.
It was as if he heard all those comments and was staking my claim on himself as if he belonged to me or something. Or probably I was just reading too many rom-coms to think of it like that.
"I had to deal with the people who caused inconvenience for you, sweetie. I am sorry that you had to go through all that. But don’t worry, it won’t be repeated again," Aiden looked at me apologetically, and I pressed my lips into a thin line.
Honestly, it wouldn’t have been a big deal if I had gotten some money from their wallets and -
’Geez, Val. Stop thinking about money for once, will you? The guy is apologizing to us. The least you can do is kiss him alright,’ Aurora said, and I quirked my brows at her suggestion.
Was she for real?
’Kiss him? Weren’t you having a crush on Shadow earlier?’ I asked.
Aurora fell deep in her thoughts before she cleared her throat.
’Right. How could I forget that? I got to maintain my dignity for him,’ She said, and I rolled my eyes this time.
I seriously don’t understand my fake-wolf. Even if our mate is gone and we are practically single and available to date anyone, doesn’t she take it too far with her jokes sometimes?
The movie started shortly, and the way Aiden was rubbing my knuckles didn’t leave my mind even for a second. It was distracting.
Honestly, it was getting a bit too much. I wasn’t that much of a fan of touching, and he was a human which was making it worse because of the guilt gnawing at my heart.
Seeing his phone vibrating and him excusing himself, I sighed in relief when he left the movie theater to talk to whoever it was.
I closed my eyes as the song played. However, my happiness was cut short when I felt someone holding my hand again.
Seriously, leave my hand... I paused.
It wasn’t Aiden.
"Are you enjoying it here?" Someone whispered in my ears, and I turned my head to my left, a gasp almost leaving my mouth when I saw his face up so close, our lips almost touching each other’s.
"Sshhh, Kitten. Let’s not make a noise that will alert others, yeah?" He whispered, placing his other hand on my mouth to stop me from speaking or probably shouting, and I gulped, nodding obediently with wide eyes.
What did he want here? What the hell was he doing here?
"What -"
"I will ask you just one question, Kitten. And I expect an honest answer. Where were you half an hour ago?" He went straight to the point, my heart thumping loudly, probably already giving away my messed-up thoughts.
"Where would I be? I was at home getting ready -"
He didn’t let me finish my sentence because the next moment his hand slid behind my back, going towards my waist before he pulled me closer, burying his face in the crook of my neck, making my heart beat faster even more.
He probably wanted to whisper his next words so others wouldn’t hear us but...
Wasn’t he being a little too close?
"Lying is not a good thing, Kitten. You can run away from everything but me. Choose your answers wisely. Let’s get into it once more. Where were you half an hour ago?" He asked again, his nose moving on my neck, making me distracted and ...
’It feels hot,’ Aurora said breathlessly, and I don’t disagree.
It was making me feel hot and bothered in places that I shouldn’t be.
No. He was just making a wild guess because of my cat mask. There was no way he could recognize me when I was covered from head to toe and even wearing lenses. I consoled my heart.
"I don’t know what you are talking about. And what the hell are you even doing here? This is not your seat -" I couldn’t complete my sentence when Shadow held my chin and forced me to look at him, his hazel eyes drowning me into them.
"Do you really not know what I am talking about?" He asked, rubbing his nose on my cheeks this time, his hot breath fanning my skin, making me want to just sit on his lap and let him do whatever he wanted with me.
I don’t understand how the hell Casper and Angela weren’t reacting at all. I mean... I was practically being harassed right beside them and -
’Will you really call this harassment? Look at your own hands,’ Aurora said.
I became conscious of my own body.
When the hell did I grab his collar? It was almost as if I was pulling him closer.
I swear it wasn’t me.
’Aurora! You stupid fake-wolf. You took advantage of my distractions, didn’t you?’ I asked, and the silence I heard from the other side was a clear answer.
"Do you want to kiss?" Shadow suddenly asked, and my body nearly jerked in its place because of the shock I felt from his words.
Has this beta legit lost his mind?!
"If not, stop pulling me close," He added, and I immediately let go of his collar as if it was on fire.
"Till later," he breathed into my ears, and I swear I didn’t imagine it, but he definitely planted a kiss there.
Before I could raise my voice because he was testing my limits a little too much, his touch disappeared as if it was never there.
I opened my eyes which I didn’t even know when I had closed and looked straight into those blue eyes that were looking at me as if I was insane for leaning into his seat.
"Are you feeling sleepy, sweetie? Should we leave?" Aiden asked me, and I cleared my throat before sitting straight, my heart beating at the pace of a bullet train.
"I am fine," I clenched my fists, ready to avenge whatever this beta did here.
If he thinks he can sleep peacefully at night after acting like that, he is in for a great surprise.
