Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna -
Chapter 24: Mission
Chapter 24: Mission
VALENCIA’S POV
"Are we going on a mission?" Aurora asked me as I proceeded to walk towards the area that I had seen last night through my binoculars.
I wanted to see what those rogue men were hiding this time, and if it was worth alerting the nearest pack, that happened to be the Dark Callisto Pack.
"For someone who hates when I get involved in the business of other rogues, you surely sound excited this time," I commented, hiding behind a tree to peek if there was any possible danger around us.
Closing my eyes, I sniffed the air.
It smelled of wet soil, running water, plants and flowers and...
My brows furrowed when I smelt it. A male rogue.
He was probably at some distance from us, but we needed to stay cautious just in case.
’Can I trust you to guide me this time or do I need to rely on my training and skills? This is not like getting into trouble with those humans. You know this can be lethal,’ I asked my fake-wolf, who pressed her lips into a thin line.
Of course. What could I really expect? Did I mention she hates working the most? She is one of those lazy bums who loves to enjoy luxuries and experience life without actually doing anything about it.
"Only a little bit," Aurora said and I hummed.
’Come on, if you don’t trust me at all, why don’t you turn into a cat?’ Aurora scoffed.
I rolled my eyes at her suggestion.
Yeah. How cool would it look when a cat would dig a place set by the rogues and then run away with something that would be thrice her size?
It has to be here somewhere. I looked towards the left side where the buildings were and tried to angle the area from where I saw the rogues.
Satisfied with my position, I started to look around, trying to find any uplifted soil that could be called suspicious.
It wasn’t long before I finally found the area, and a shaky breath escaped my mouth as I pulled out my equipment that would help me see if it was a landmine again.
It was a precautionary measure that Dylan asked me to take after my last time when I almost stepped on the landmine because I was looking into things set up by rogues just like I was doing today.
It had scared Dylan and uncle to the point where they had scolded and trapped me in the council chambers to train me once again. They said I wasn’t prepared. I should go over the basic skills thoroughly. Those were one of the worst days of my year during training because I was treated worse than an intern.
Why? Because I made a mistake that even interns don’t make, and that to be after working for the council for more than half of the year.
’Stop conversing with yourself and get this over with,’ Aurora, my fake-wolf, commented to bring me out of my thoughts and I sighed.
Once clear with everything, I was about to dig the ground when I felt and heard it.
Someone’s hushed footsteps and the slight rustling of leaves.
This wasn’t good.
Swoosh! I heard the voice, and I quickly jumped to the other side, my pupils dilating when I saw a dagger being plunged straight into the bark of the tree.
This was a trap.
I looked at the direction from where that dagger came.
Four rogues were standing there, looking directly at me and judging from their smug form, I knew they were the same men who probably planted this whatever thing was.
"A she-wolf? That’s quite surprising," The rogue said, and I smirked behind the cat mask that I had on my face to hide my identity.
I am sure I wasn’t what they expected when they thought of trapping that one person who has been nullifying their plans for the past two weeks.
"Who are you?" One of the rogues asked.
And naturally, I didn’t say anything. I just stood there and watched them becoming angrier because that was what I was good at. Making people angry.
"This b*tch! I had been thinking why none of our plans work no matter what good plan we come up with, but who would’ve thought that this b*tch was the reason behind all our failure and the absence of our hidden treasures," The rogue said.
Yes. Come on, curse me more. Curse me to make me more angry.
And what kind of treasures were they even talking about? When I sold it, I didn’t even get the money worth of how hard I worked on it and how much time it consumed when I could’ve used the same energy on painting something.
I stopped smirking when they stopped talking and a scowl made its way on my face.
However, I was a pro at instigating anger in people, and thus, I used my middle finger to flip them off.
"You!" One of the rogues growled at me and I jumped towards me to attack me, making me smile.
Unlike pack members and humans where I have to be mindful of my actions, this wasn’t the case when I fight these rogues, especially when they are like money banks for me.
Without wasting my time, I pulled out my metal sheet like swords that can be rolled into a ball but cut worse than a blade.
The side effects of such swords? It hurts you more than you can imagine if you got one wrong move with it.
However, that was exactly why I was wearing these leather and latex mixed clothes that I got custom made just for this purpose.
I raised those sheet belts and hit the rogue who had jumped on me the first thing.
The metal sharp sheet wrapped itself around his neck, and I tightened my hold on the handle before jerking it towards myself. The thick stench of blood immediately spread everywhere as it cut straight through the rogue’s neck.
"Uhhhh," The rogue struggled, trying his best to free himself from the hold of that sharp blade-like sheet, but it was too late. The more he was trying to get it away, the stronger it was wrapping itself while cutting his fingers in the way.
The other rogues looked at me with pure anger as they saw their friend struggling under my tricks.
"No wonder she has been able to fool us for so long. It looks like she surely has skills," The rogue said, and I smirked.
Skills? I fucking trained for 10 hours a day just to make myself this capable and able to fight such scums without fearing my life.
I didn’t want to fear anyone and that kind of attitude came with a price or hardwork and dedication.
Jerking my hand back and slicing the rogue’s neck completely, I slammed the metal sheet on the ground, freeing it from the blood that splashed all around.
With a small smile that I was sure they couldn’t see, I adjusted my cat mask before attacking the other three rogues one by one.
Handling them was a piece of cake when I was looking for the right hand man of the rogue head and training hard to take him down.
As soon as I slammed my belt on the ground the third time, the forth rogue immediately turned to its wolf form and I smirked.
They shouldn’t have done this one thing.
Why? Because when they try to dominate me in their wolf form, even my fake-wolf feels provoked and she doesn’t like being provoked.
Aurora stood from her place and immediately commanded my body with her anger.
"Transition!" Aurora ordered, and as soon as she did that, my body transitioned.
And no, she wasn’t stupid enough to turn me into a cat to fight a big ass wolf.
What has she changed me into?
She changed me into a fucking bengal tigress!!
The shock on the face of the wolf was quite easy to decipher, and I didn’t waste my time on letting him gawk at us.
Now that he saw my one form that no one should know about, it was obvious he needed to die.
Raising my paws in the air, I soaked my fur in the rogue’s blood.
"Alpha! The stench of blood is coming from here," I heard a strangely familiar voice, and knowing that it was probably the people of the Dark Callisto Pack, I quickly turned into my human form and adjusted my mask on my face.
As soon as I turned around ready to run away, my gaze met with those hot blazing hazel ones and my pupils dilated.
Shadow was also here! Fuck my luck!
"Hey! You!" Someone shouted, but I couldn’t waste my time anymore and ran as fast as I could.
