Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna
Chapter 241: Traitor Brother

Chapter 241: Traitor Brother

MAVERICK’S POV

I looked at my hands, which turned into those of a Lycan’s before I was pushed into the back of my head.

I watched as the rogues stood frozen in their places.

My men, who had gone to the upper side of the terrace to attack the rogues from above, looked at my form, unsure if they needed to continue attacking.

Before I could tell Reaper to at least warn my people, he used his Lycan speed, and within a blink of an eye, I saw around four hearts in my hands.

He dropped the hearts by our side, the thud sound of the dead bodies falling on the ground echoing.

"You!" The rogues started to attack, and Reaper grinned like a maniac who entered his playfield.

The rogues tried to shoot us through their guns, but Reaper sneakily dodged every single shot.

I don’t understand why people keep forgetting that I was the beast alpha and that everyone should drop down the moment Reaper takes over.

There was a reason my people weren’t even daring to interrupt, help us, or kill any rogue: They knew my wolf wouldn’t like it.

This was the third time he had taken over me like this, and to say he was getting more efficient with his fighting skills when he hadn’t even transformed completely was shocking to me.

How the hell was he only getting stronger?

’I guess the love-making and drinking each other’s blood with Valencia is working wonders on our body,’ Reaper mused, showing me our love-making sessions with our woman to distract me as he continued ripping the rogues to shred like the true Reaper he was.

I watched in horror as the rogues dropped to the ground, and my team stood in the corner, watching the scene with neutral faces because they didn’t want to make any wrong expressions and offend their alpha.

Within fifteen minutes, he killed all the rogues who stepped forward.

Seeing one of the rogues trying to relieve the grenade’s pin, Reaper used his Lycan speed on the man, looking him dead in the eyes.

"You want to use the grenade?" Reaper asked, and I gulped.

’Reaper, no. Listen to me. We have killed the rogues. Our first strike as the warning is over,’ I told Reaper, who wasn’t letting me take over again.

I watched as Reaper started to walk out of the base with his hand pulling the man outside.

The way he was still holding that grenade, I knew he had something bad in mind.

Reaper placed the grenade in the man’s mouth, removed the pin, and kicked him as hard as he could, making the man fly some distance.

I watched in shock as I saw the man bursting along with the grenades, the droplets of his blood and flesh spreading in the environment.

"Fuck!" Shadow said behind me before he vomited, and I shuddered in my place.

"Do you like it?" Reaper asked me, and I glared at my wolf.

"You... " I started to scold, but before I could say something, he interrupted me, saying something that froze me in my place.

"Your brother is here," Reaper said.

My brother is here?

All my emotions suddenly turned into nothing as Reaper gave me back control, making me take a deep breath as my body turned back into its normal humane form.

"Sir, you said you would take care—" Shadow walked to me, probably to complain about Reaper’s presentation, but I was in no mood to hear anything at all.

"He says Alfonso is here," I said to Shadow, who looked back at me equally shocked, all his complaining gone.

I didn’t know what to feel.

My heart was beating at the pace of the bullet train.

This was the same person who became the reason for the Wipeout of my parents, the death of many pack members, and the betrayal of my mate. But even after all this, he was one man who was my only family member alive.

"I will ask someone to look for him," Shadow said, and everyone started moving to look for that wretched man I didn’t even want to call my brother.

It wasn’t long before the man was pulled before me.

"Where are you taking me?! Let go of me!" His familiar hateful voice echoed, and the nearer he was to me, the more hate I was feeling brewing in my heart.

I turned to look at the man.

He was still the same. The same arrogance dripped from his eyes, the same frown lines of frustration and irritation on his forehead.

"He was locked inside a room, sir," The man who pulled him towards me said.

I hummed.

The man stopped struggling as soon as he looked into my eyes. I saw a swirl of emotions crossing his eyes, which I knew were fake.

How could emotions like care, happiness, and guilt really cross his eyes?

There was no way this man had any emotions left inside him, the man who killed his parents and was ready to destroy the pack so many lives just because he wanted to be the alpha... No. Everything was fake.

He was a master of those emotions.

This was the same man who hid his true intentions from us until he asked the rogues to destroy what I held dear.

And now, after all these years, when I finally started to find happiness with Valencia, he was back to destroy me once again.

"Brother -" Alfonso started, but I looked at Shadow and Greta rather than looking at him.

"Lock him up. Don’t be fooled by his eyes or words. This might be their trick. We fell for it once and lost everything. It would be foolish of us to believe him again," I said to my men before walking away.

"Brother, listen to me. Please. I am not at fault. Please believe me. Trust me once, and I will prove it to you. I was innocent, brother. I didn’t do anything," I heard his pleading behind me, and tears brimmed my eyes.

Trust?

Forgiveness?

How could this man even ask me such things after everything he did?

I saw it with my own eyes.

My mate in his arms, his hand around her waist, that knife in his hands that had the blood of my parents, I saw everything with my eyes. How could he say he wasn’t at fault?

Fucking hell!

I punched a tree in anger before dialing Valencia’s number.

I needed her.

I needed to hear her voice to call these raging emotions in my heart.

No. What are you doing, Maverick? She is there for the acceptance ceremony. How can you disturb her when... I was about to end the call when she picked up.

I didn’t say anything, so I waited for her to say something, and she took a deep breath.

"Thank god you called, Maverick. You won’t believe what happened," she said, and I gulped, feeling worried.

Did someone attack her or something? Has someone got to her? What exactly happened?

"What happened? Tell me. I will take the flight immediately. No one will harm you," I said, and the girl smiled.

"I missed you," she said, making my heart skip a beat. I closed my eyes and relaxed.

"One day, you will become the death of me," I whispered, her stupid pranks almost making my heart leap out of my mouth.

"And at that time, the kiss of an angel like me would save you," She said smugly, making me hum.

"I am coming soon. There is just so much I need to tell you, and I miss you too," I said to her, turning to look at my brother who had his head on the window sill, tears rolling down his cheeks.

Shaking my head, I concentrated on my woman.

This time, I won’t let him fool me.
