Chapter 131: Prince Ethan

VALENCIA’S POV

"You look worried about something," Aiden walked to me as he saw me starting the bike and I shook my head at him

"Why would I be worried about anything?" I lied to him even when I was quite worried about what was going on in the Hazel Moon pack.

That scream... It wasn’t settling well with me.

What was wrong there? Did something happen? But why would something wrong happen there? I didn’t ask anyone to do anything, I even withheld my plans and stopped my rogue team from creating any kind of trouble.

Should I ask Dylan about what was going on in there? I pressed my lips into a thin line.

"Will he be okay for real?" I asked Aiden and he rolled his eyes at me.

"Seriously, are you trying to rub it in my face about how weak our people are? He will be fine. It was just a punch," Aiden said.

I nodded my head and was about to tell him to contact me as soon as he heard from the doctor when my phone vibrated again and thinking it was Alpha Maverick calling, I quickly pulled it out.

Seeing it was a call from Carl, I sighed.

"Hello,"

"Have you left already? He will be reaching the restaurant in 20 minutes. Don’t forget, I have made the arrangements in the private room 7," Carl said and I hummed.

"Don’t you think it’s weird you are asking me to meet the man even when you know what kind of attitude I have? You know I can’t pretend for long," I said and the man chuckled.

His laugh made me roll my eyes again.

"Oh, sweetheart. You are going to be just fine. I am sure you won’t be able to say anything in front of him," Carl said and I smiled helplessly.

This guy... It looks like Dylan hasn’t exactly told him everything about me clearly.

The confidence he was putting in me was too much and he would get to know the consequences of it soon.

"I am leaving now," I ended the call before looking at Aiden.

"You are leaving? By the way, where did that girl with you go?" Aiden asked and I shrugged.

That was strange for sure.

For someone who doesn’t want to leave my side even for a minute, she left me without saying anything.

Then again, she probably went to do some kind of demon thing like feeding or whatever that she couldn’t or didn’t want to do in front of me out of respect for my species.

Well, who would tell her that I was almost the same? I mean I wasn’t exactly a demon, but wasn’t I craving blood these days too? Well, that was a completely different matter.

"She went to the forest probably for a stroll. She is a nature lover," I said.

Aiden raised his brows at me. I know he was wondering how I was being so nonchalant about a girl roaming in the forest all alone when we all knew how dangerous it was. But then again, he didn’t know what that girl was, I knew.

She had the capability of burning the entire forest if something displeased her, so it wasn’t a matter of concern for me. What was rather concerning was that she didn’t end up getting into a fight with anyone and displaying her powers.

But she also knew if she wanted to stay with me, she needed to stay out of trouble and that was why I was sure she wouldn’t create kuch problems for me.

"I got to go," I said to Aiden before accelerating my bike towards the venue, the restaurant where Carl wanted me to meet the person that I hadn’t expected would fix a meeting like this.

After a ride of thirty minutes, I finally reached the restaurant and parked my bike in the parking lot before messaging Carl that I was already there.

When I didn’t receive any immediate reply, I shrugged and walked into the room that Carl mentioned.

I was nonchalant, a bit too nonchalant because as soon as I entered the room I knew what royalty looked like.

I looked at the man who was standing near the window with his back to me, his broad shoulders that were clad in a royal blue cloak a clear indication that he was the prince I was supposed to meet.

I was about to step forward to meet the man when suddenly four men appeared from the corners and stopped me, their swords drawn at me.

"Who are you?" One of the men asked and I wanted to punch this man straight in the face.

Why would a random girl enter this private room when it was mentioned at the reception no one is to interrupt the room and only my orders will allow food or drinks inside the room?

"The one Your Highness wanted to meet," I said, and as soon as I said those words, the man turned around, looking at me.

To say I was shocked would be an understatement.

No. He wasn’t some magnificent person with the kind of aura that would make me kneel on the floor for him. It was because of how handsome he was.

’Nothing compared to our Maverick,’ Aurora said and I pressed my lips into a thin line to stop my smile.

’Though it’s true, can you stop expressing how smitten you are with that guy?’ I asked her, and in return, she just shrugged at me, making me roll my eyes.

"You must be Spy V," The man said, and I quirked my brows.

Why do I feel like I have heard this voice and these words before this?

I squinted my brows, trying to rake my brains and it was after some seconds I finally realized when I heard this voice.

"You are that prankster!" I exclaimed before clearing my throat.

’Hahaha, can you be any less obvious?’ Aurora chuckled in my head.

"Apologies, Prince Ethan. I mean, I didn’t know you were the prince at that time. Pardon me for calling you that," I said and the man looked at me for a few seconds before nodding and motioning me to sit on the table in front of him.

His expression was neutral, a bit too neutral for me to decipher what was going through his head. Even his emotions were neutral and stable, which was rendering me hard to catch onto anything.

He was a tough one.

Then again, what did I expect from royalty itself? Of course, he would be hard to deal with.

"What are you waiting for?" The prince asked me.

I nodded at him before sitting in front of him.

"What are you guys doing? Have you not verified enough?" The prince said and the soldiers immediately put their swords back in their scabbards before standing back into the corner.

I kept my observant gaze on everyone, my left hand secured around my dagger just in case I would be able to fight back if anybody posed any danger to me. I wasn’t going to die without trying.

"You can relax. They will not harm you," Prince said as if he heard my thoughts and I quirked my brows.

"That’s not how a spy is supposed to work. And you can stop calling me Spy V. It’s Brooklyn," I told the man and he nodded his head.

I pressed the red button on the table before asking them to send in the drinks.

As soon as the drinks came in, the soldiers immediately walked ahead, took the empty glass, and poured some of the drink into it before checking if it contained some kind of poison or not.

I couldn’t help but chuckle inwardly.

Well, that was a great way of getting to taste all the royal drinks and food. I grinned.

’Only you. Only you can think of this situation like this, Valencia,’ Aurora rolled her eyes and I shrugged.

It wasn’t like I wasn’t telling the truth.

"It’s okay," The soldier commented and the prince kept looking at me as if waiting for me to drink my juice first.

I wanted to roll my eyes at him so badly I swear. But thinking he was royalty, I smiled at him and drank the juice. And no, there was nothing ladylike about how I did that.

I literally gulped the entire thing down before placing the glass back on the table and wiping my lips with the tissue.

"I think it’s okay," I smiled and the man’s lips twitched as he looked at me before humming.

He took a sip of his drink.

Come on, when are we going to talk about the important stuff? Wasn’t he supposed to be ultra busy and already ask me what I was doing and then leave?

I kept waiting for him to say something but when he didn’t even after thirty seconds, I couldn’t control myself.

"What did you want to know about the mission, Prince Ethan," I asked and the man looked at his soldier who brought a file to me, making me furrow my brows.
