Chapter 118: Little Ifrit

Chapter 118: Little Ifrit

VALENCIA’S POV

I walked out of the pub as soon as I could before looking around hastily.

My senses weren’t wrong. There was no way I was imagining this. The fact that the blast happened right when I was in trouble, no way I am going to think it’s not the work of that one person only.

But where am I going to find that snitch who came here despite me denying it?

’Why do you think it’s that person only? I mean, even with the highest senses, I haven’t sensed the presence,’ Aurora said, and I rolled my eyes.

I know it’s the same person because I don’t need any senses to recognize their presence. Their actions were more than enough.

Why? Because that person is learning from me only.

A troublemaker can easily sense when another troublemaker is in the area. And this troublemaker was going to give me a major headache.

This wasn’t the right time for this kind of mess.

When I couldn’t find the person even after looking around, I stopped in the dark parking lot and sighed.

"If you are not going to come out and greet me already, I am going to abandon you," I said, pretty loudly.

Swoosh! I felt the swoosh of wind around me and another sigh left my mouth. I wasn’t wrong, it’s indeed her.

"Cici," The girl stopped right behind me, and I pulled out my dagger swiftly, turning around in a split second before I grabbed her hand, pulled her close, and twisted her hand behind her back as I pointed my dagger at her neck.

"Don’t Cici me. I told you not to come find me until I call you, didn’t I?" I seethed at her.

"I missed you," The girl said, and I closed my eyes frustratingly.

"You are not supposed to miss me, Alina. We don’t belong together," I groaned, my pupils dilating, realizing my mistake immediately when the three cars around me flew in the air, blasting far away from me.

She doesn’t like it when I try to mention the differences between us and how we can’t live together as she wants, but am I really left with any choice?

She is...

"Who is it this time?" I asked her, and she immediately calmed down, going back to her goofy self as she looked down at her feet, making me stand in front of her.

Oh, my moon goddess, she came here after creating trouble again.

Damn it, she will seriously be the death of me.

Honestly, this girl is the only person who makes me realize how hard things must be for Dylan and Carl, handling all my mess.

"What did you do, Alina?" I asked, trying to act as patient as I could.

"I... I... I didn’t -" she stuttered, and I stepped ahead.

"If I can save your ass from problems, never doubt what I can do if you lie to me and get on my nerves for real, Alina," I grabbed a fistful of her hair, forcing her to look into my eyes, her red blazing eyes not at all scared me.

"I accidentally messed with the Garfield witches," She said, and I closed my eyes.

Witches... Witches again!!

"You-" I started but sighed and left her hair.

"Please don’t be angry, na. I am in the wrong. But in my defense, nothing like this would’ve happened in the first place if you had allowed me to stay with you. I didn’t want to do it either. It’s just...the witches’ teenagers found my den and they provoked me in the wrong way," Alina tried to explain.

I smiled bitterly.

Dang it. This is bigger than what I was thinking.

I thought she was talking about only messing with the witches by entering their cult clans and provoking them or stealing something from them, but the moment she mentioned the word provoking, I knew where this was going.

I massaged my forehead before looking at the innocent ifrit in front of me.

"You burnt one of them?" I asked, and the little hesitation that appeared in her eyes was enough to give me my answer.

"Fucking hell, Alina. Why would you do that? How many times do I need to tell you that you can’t do this here, for god’s sake?! This is not your region," I groaned before sitting on the ground, not at all caring about the dirt, my life was going to get dirtier than this.

"I... Do you hate me now?" Alina asked me, and I sighed.

Do I hate her? Of course, I hate her for bringing this mess into my life when I was already battling with things on my end.

Now how am I going to explain to Carl why the witches of one of the strongest clans are coming to look for me? How am I going to explain to the alpha why the normal omega without a wolf was suddenly getting involved with mysterious things that he probably never even thought about?

But most importantly, how the hell am I going to convince those witches to let go of my ifrit because she is this innocent little girl who is alone in this world and has no one to tend to her?

"I don’t hate you, my ifrit. I never can. You are like this little pet, the little trouble that I hugged with open arms the moment I saved you from that river, but you got to understand that you give me a headache for sure. This is seriously a mess," I answered.

I looked at her and the way she pouted her lips was a clear indication she was both annoyed at my description of her and amused at the same time.

"Was it too hard on you?" I asked, and she pouted before she sat on the ground too. But she didn’t just sit there.

She placed her head on my lap.

"Can I not stay with you? I will behave. I promise," Alina said, and I pressed my lips into a thin line.

I seriously can’t believe I have to treat this girl who was seven years older than me as a kid.

Though it was true that she was indeed like a teenage kid according to the aging of her species, it doesn’t mean I have to treat her like one too, right?

’Well, who are you kidding, if you didn’t like her, you wouldn’t spare her your time and worry about it. You have always been like this from the moment you saved this demon,’ Aurora said, and I looked at my ifrit who was getting too comfortable in my lap.

That was right.

In my lap, lying peacefully, acting like a kid was none other than a little demon that I met a couple of months ago.

"Let’s go. I need to devise plans on how to deal with the witches you are bringing my way," I shook my head at her before standing, making her pout.

As I started walking towards my bike, thankful that it wasn’t my bike she blasted earlier in her anger, I looked down at my hand when she held my little finger and a chuckle left my mouth.

How am I supposed to stay angry at this girl when she acts cute like this?

"Get on the bike, you stupid ifrit. I will have to find a hotel for you now," I sighed, feeling tired as hell.

This wasn’t what I was expecting to happen.

I quickly messaged Aiden that I got a call from Carl and was leaving already just so they don’t worry about me before starting the car.
