Chapter 117: Acting like human

VALENCIA’S POV

"You look marvelous tonight. Tell us what this glow is all about?" Leen walked to me as she swayed her hips in front of me, making me chuckle.

I looked at Henry, who was eyeing Leen with a blush on his face, trying his best to not be caught staring and I shook my head at him.

"You noticed? This glow comes after drinking raw blood. I am sure Henry won’t mind if you drink from him. Right, Henry?" I asked the guy, who bit the inside of his cheeks, blushing even harder.

He looked at me with a glare when he realized what I was doing.

"What drinking blood? Only a witch like you can think of it. Who knows if you have some cult thing going under your basement," Henry commented before drowning his drink, and we all laughed at his embarrassment while Leen enjoyed the reaction, deliberately moving towards him as he went stiff.

"I will be around," I told them and was about to move when someone held my hand and pulled me back, making me look at the person with a scowl.

However, when I looked into the familiar blue eyes and noticed it was just Aiden, I rolled my eyes.

"You seriously keep asking for a punch to KO you. How many times have I told you not to do this?" I asked before jerking his hand away.

He chuckled before pulling my cheeks, making me even more annoyed.

"I can’t help it. You look really cute when you are angry like that," Aiden said.

I rolled my eyes at him.

"So, where have you been?" He asked, and I quirked my brows.

Right. We haven’t really talked for some time and -

I paused when I felt a little weird.

I looked around hastily. What was this all about?

Why was I feeling the sudden pressure in the environment?

"Where are you looking? Trying to form up and answer?" Aiden asked me, snapping me out of my thoughts and I smiled awkwardly.

"There’s nothing like that. I had just been busy with this and that. With my guardian now staying here, my adventures have been limited too. You know how it is," I told him and he nodded.

"I understand. With the amount of danger and problems you keep getting yourself into, I am surprised that they haven’t already decided upon a permanent bodyguard for you," Aiden said.

I grinned at his comment.

Why? Because when Aiden joined the University, he used to come with three bodyguards, the three bodyguards that I shoo away myself and something that I am proud of too. Hehe.

"Just get lost. I had a tough night," I pushed him away jokingly and he chuckled before pulling me to the dance floor.

"The only way to release your stress," Aiden said and I smirked at him.

"Well, I know many different ways to release stress," I looked at him.

He raised his left brow at me.

"Really? You want to go there?" He smirked at me, and I grinned.

"Like we can go for a Trek in the mountains," I smiled innocently and he chuckled before ruffling his hair.

He shook his head at me.

"You land the hardest blow, turn people on, and then immediately retract. You have always been this cunning. Always saying provocative things and then backing off like a manipulator you are," He said, sneaking his band around my waist as he maintained a respectful distance, dancing along with the beats.

"Well, what can I say? I never said I wasn’t a psychopath, to begin with," I blinked my eyes innocently.

"Stupid girl," he flicked my forehead, making me scowl.

Slapping his chest playfully, I turned around and closed my eyes, enjoying the dance beats, letting the music take over my senses.

The song suddenly changed, and after hearing the sensual song, I couldn’t help but immediately think about one person who has clouded my head these days.

The one person I want to give me a good time, every day and every night, but want to stay away from him at the same time.

A blush crept up my neck when I realized where my thoughts were leading, and I sighed.

This sinful man was surely making a decent survival in this area. I swayed my hips on the beats and was about to turn around to ask Aiden how things in his gang were going when I noticed how his smell was absent from around me.

I felt sweaty hands on my waist and from the way my body repulsed, I knew it wasn’t someone I knew.

"Hey!" I pushed the man back before glaring at him.

One look into his lecherous eyes was enough for me to know that this man was purely drunk and didn’t know what he was doing or where he was going.

I gritted my teeth before moving to some distance to continue dancing, but the man came there too.

He was surely getting on my nerves. I looked around, and seeing Henry busy with Leen and Tracy and Aiden nowhere in sight, I moved my hand through my hair frustratedly.

It looks like I can’t depend on my human friends to deal with this creepy human, I will have to deal with this stupid myself.

’Look at him trying to touch what he can’t even afford to look at. Does he know how he is courting death?’ Aurora scoffed and I felt her aura darkening, making me furrow my brows in surprise.

Was she for real? She was changing her aura in a pub full of humans? Was she trying to get me into trouble? I was about to ask her what her deal was because she wasn’t the kind who gets offended easily, that’s my job, but before I could do that, I felt a sharp object placed on my abdomen.

I looked down before looking at the man who was trying to dance with me earlier.

"Do you think you can push me away, bitch? Now get in line if you don’t want me to push this further inside. Why do bitches like you never learn?" He asked, mumbling the last part to himself.

I wanted to react immediately, but then I observed my surroundings and noticed how a couple of men around me were also looking at us and doing nothing about it.

The experience told me these men were either affiliated with this man or were waiting for me to get humiliated so they could have their turn too.

Now that I think about it, I wonder where my hero goes whenever I need help in such dire situations.

Aiden was standing there just a few minutes ago.

Sometimes it feels like whenever I am getting into trouble, the moon goddess deliberately removes my knights from the area so that I will have to deal with these issues myself.

I don’t have a problem though, but must she keep testing me like this? Give me a break on some days, can’t she?

"Get in line? How do I do it?" I asked the man who smirked at me, probably thinking that he had things under control, unbeknownst to the fact that I could kill him in ten different ways and even run away without anyone knowing about it.

"Let me dance with you and then after that, you need to come with me-" The man said, stopping when I stepped ahead, despite him still pointing his dagger into my abdomen.

"Come with you and then what? Fuck, this is hot. It’s like one of my fantasies is coming to life," I blinked at him innocently, and he slurred.

"Really? Are you into this kind of stuff?" He asked and I nodded.

"It’s hot," I said and he grinned.

"Come back to my place and I will show you many hot things. A girl like you deserves it for sure," He said and I hummed.

"Is that so? How convenient," I whispered to him before looking at my friends at some distance.

Should I get them involved in this? Well, as much as I didn’t want to, I was slipping with my acting already, and I definitely needed some ways to restore it.

As a human girl, I should be flipping off and creating a scene already, trying to vouch for some help, no?

Huh... It was quite tricky for someone like me who has never done it and is used to doing it all alone.

Let me try it though. I was about to try to tell Leen that I was in danger as she looked towards me at the right moment, but before I could do that, I felt it again, the strange pressure that was dominating me and I looked around.

"What are you looking at? Changed your mind?" The man asked, and I glared at him.

I wasn’t feeling it. Something was definitely wrong.

"You better shut your mouth if you don’t want me to pull that tongue out," I said.

Boom! The blast echoed, and I froze in my place when the lights suddenly went out, all the electronic things inside the room bursting.

My eyes went wide. I nearly jerked in my place as people around me started to shout and scream in panic when the bar area suddenly started burning out of the blue.

No way. I shook my head before kicking the man away from me as hard as I could, earning a few more screams before I turned around to leave.
