ALPHA MAVERICK’S POV

"Get them from the north side. I am staying here. You guys go on the south side. Make sure they don’t leave using the lake as their leeway," I looked at my team, who nodded their heads.

’Sir, we won’t leave even a single one of them,’ One of the Soldiers said, and I glared at him.

’This is an official mission, and I am not going to tolerate any stupidity. If I saw anyone flowing with their emotions and not sticking to the plan, I would kill them first. I know you guys are angry, I am too, but if you want to kill every single one of them, we need to do it strategically.’ I told the soldiers who immediately nodded at me.

Who was I kidding?

I was seething myself, and the thought of attacking their base single-handedly was taking over me again and again, but this wasn’t the same as our other fights with the rogues.

I didn’t want any single one of them who was involved in that heinous crime to run away. I will show them what death is and what it feels like to suffer the torture they put that little kid through.

I know my eyes were turning darker as Reaper was starting to influence my thoughts and my alpha power was coursing through my veins.

"Go," I nodded at my team who immediately started to spread through the entire area.

I saw one of my team members stepping on what looked like an alarm that was hidden under the dried leaves and his gaze met mine.

"Now!" I shouted through the mind-link as the loud sound blared throughout the forest, alerting the rogues probably. Everyone in my team used their werewolf speed to reach their position as quickly as possible.

They were quite cunning for the pieces of scum they were.

It wasn’t long before the rogues started to run out from their base, the base they had built underground.

I smirked at the first rogue who came face to face with me.

"A-alpha Maverick -" He stuttered.

He stepped back in fear.

"Guys! It’s-" he started, but I didn’t let him finish his sentence.

Using my Alpha speed, I reached where he was standing and pulled his tongue out with one single go, his body jerking down as blood splashed all over, the long muscle still in my hand as his eyes rolled in the back of his head.

Did he die? Just like that?

It was no fun like this.

I looked up when I saw three more rogues and a cold chuckle left my mouth.

This was going to be so much better, feeding my carnal desire for bloodshed. After staying calm for so long, I deserved this too.

The psychotic side of my wolf started to snap as we looked at the rogues with pure hunger. Yes, we were hungry, hungry for their souls, for their screams, for this fear that was reflected in their eyes and the way they were trembling, barely standing in front of us.

We wanted it all.

They made a mistake messing with one alpha that even the council tries to stay away from.

"Going somewhere?" My voice turned deep as I wiped my hands on my shirt.

"Alpha Maverick, what happened i-isn’t what we wanted to do either. W-we-" The rogue started to stutter and I nodded at him.

"What you did wasn’t your intention and you were paid to do so," I repeated the same freaky line every rogue spits in front of me whenever they get caught and a chuckle left my mouth when they nodded.

How naive.

"You do what you were paid for. Now it’s my turn to reply to that threat," I hissed at them.

A venomous glint passed through one of the rogue’s eyes as his gaze flickered to my right, and out of the corner of my eyes, I saw one more rogue standing there with a dagger in his hand, ready to hit me.

Fools. Did they really think they could catch me off-guard?

As the shining silver Blade was thrown towards me, I turned around using my speed and kicked the blade right on time so that my shoes hit the wooden part of it.

The blade went straight to one of the rogues, plunging straight into his genitals and Reaper smirked at my shot.

I was aiming for the heart, but this worked too.

"Aaaaa! Aaa!" The cacophonic screams made me annoyed, and I pulled out a random branch from the tree before throwing it at the same rogue to kill him and stop the noise.

The other two rogues saved him.

It irked me. No one gets between my work. It feels disrespectful.

I could hear the sounds of screams from the other sides too, a clear indication that the rogues indeed tried to use multiple directions to run away from here just like I had thought.

Not wanting to delay more, I pulled out my sword, ready to fight the rogue one-on-one battle now.

It was pretty annoying, seeing them blabbering stuff. I didn’t have the heart or patience to hear their useless yapping.

Reaper chuckled darkly in my head before taking over me slightly.

My nails elongated slightly as my gaze turned even sharper than before, my hearing ability increasing tenfold as I looked at the rogues with a smile.

"Alpha Maverick, you really think you are all that. Even if we all have to die today, we would be happy if all can get you on your knees. You will bow down to us," One of the rogues said, and I chuckled darkly.

They really had big ambitions for someone who didn’t know what was hitting them this time.

Did they really think this was the only base we were attacking? What they did by warning us with that little girl was give us a leeway to attack their other bases even in the no man’s land.

"We will see that," I said before raising my sword, ready to attack.

It was going to be my warning to my brother too.

He really thought I wouldn’t be able to find who was behind this warning, no? I was quiet for too long. But it looks like the rogue head needs a reality check too.

I smiled.

’Dear, Elder brother, this time I won’t let you have your way. You became the reason behind everything I lost once, this time I will ensure you die a very cruel death. I will be the one to shred you, to plunge my dagger into your heart and tear your heart in a way that everyone will remember this brother feud for the rest of their lives. Be ready to create history with me,’ I smirked at the thought.
