Chapter 230: The Devil’s Hounds
Even though I had calmed down significantly with the guys around, the house apparently disagreed. We were locked in my room until the sun rose the next morning, waking us all up.
"Too fucking early," hissed Sloth as he buried his head even deeper into the crook of my neck. "Someone hit something."
His ridiculous demand made me giggle as the others around us shifted around, clearly no more interested in getting up than Sloth was. Looking around my bed at the seven demons and hellhound, I felt safe and content.
Whoever had created the illusion, whether he was my Père or not, wasn’t dealing with a terrified child who had been alone all her life. I now had people who cared about me around me, and that was enough.
"Do you want some breakfast?" murmured a deep voice off to my side. Turning my head, I saw Chang Xuefeng still leaning against the door, his weapon within arm’s reach even now.
"Breakfast would be good, Daddy" I smiled at him. "Were you awake all night long? Aren’t you sleepy?"
"Of course," chuckled Chang Xuefeng as he pushed back his hood. I could clearly see his ’human’ face with his mismatched eyes and the scar cutting through the blue one, but I could also see so much more.
"You were scared, and all the other pricks weren’t staying away after knowing that they could all fit in your bed."
"So you guarded me all night long?" I sighed, closing my eyes as I felt arms around me, lifting me up and out of the puppy pile.
"I don’t need sleep," Chang Xuefeng assured me. "And you know I will always guard you. It doesn’t matter to me how many men are in your bed; I will never trust any of them to look after my Princess as well as I can."
Wrapping my arms around his neck and waist, I buried my nose in his neck. "I love you, Daddy," I whispered.
"I love you, too," he whispered back, even as he strolled toward the door. It opened soundlessly, and we were spit back out into the kitchen. "From the second until the end of time, you are mine, and I am yours."
"Always and forever," I nodded as he put me down at the breakfast counter. "Can I have bacon and pancakes for breakfast? With lots of syrup?"
As soon as I asked for it, the house made it appear in front of me. Digging in, it took me a little while to realize that Daddy and I weren’t alone.
"Who are you again?" I asked, cocking my head to the side. I was pretty sure that I was still in an oversized t-shirt without underwear or anything like that... but this was my house.
If they didn’t like it, they could just go die.
"They are part of the Devil’s Hounds MC," answered Chang Xuefeng before the men standing in front of me could respond. "The Sins thought it was funny and decided to bring them home."
One of the men scoffed at that, while the one that I kind of remembered simply smiled and winked at me. "Judge, right?" I muttered, blinking rapidly. It was too early in the morning to deal with everything, and, frankly, my brain was still half asleep.
"That’s right," nodded the older man. "And you are..."
"The Devil," answered Chang Xuefeng. "And I’m the Grim Reaper, so you are going to have to get another name," he continued, pointing his fork at one of the other men. "I’m not going to have someone walking around here claiming to be me."
The man who Chang Xuefeng was pointing at turned a bit pale before collecting himself. "Then I’ll go by Prez. It’s who I am now. It will work."
Chang Xuefeng shrugged his shoulder and went back to his food.
"I’m Sparks," introduced another man. "How exactly do we get breakfast?"
"Just like you get anything else in this house," I replied, picking up a piece of perfectly cooked bacon. "Make a wish."
Chang Xuefeng snorted at that but didn’t say anything.
Sparks opened his mouth, but I quickly shot him a glare. "But you are exchanging your soul for whatever you wish for. I won’t listen to you bitching and complaining that you didn’t know what you are signing up for."
"And just what are we signing up for?" asked another man beside Prez. "I’m Shadow, the VP."
"Eternal life, everything that you could possibly want at your fingertips, and more power than you ever thought possible," I smirked at him. "All you have to do is swear that you will do your name justice."
Prez lifted an eyebrow as he looked at me, and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. "You be the Devil’s Hounds. If I send you out to kill people and create chaos, you do what you are told. If I tell you to deliver a message, you do that, too. My word is law, and you obey it."
"In exchange for eternal life, power, and everything we want?" asked another man. "Mad Dog... the treasurer."
"Yup," I smiled brightly at him. "I mean, what more could you want?"
The men looked at Prez as if in silent agreement to go with whatever he decided. "Then I would like a Lumberjack breakfast, with sausage, bacon, baked beans, French toast, beignets, and two sunny side-up eggs."
Before he could even finish speaking, the breakfast he had asked for was placed on the table, along with a few pitchers of coffee, a variety of juices, and water.
There was a few seconds of silence as even more plates full of food appeared on the table.
"What the hell," grunted Mad Dog, a smile on his face as he sat down at the counter. "I was pretty sure that I traded my soul to the Devil a long time ago. I guess you are just coming to collect, huh?"
Shaking my head, I chuckled at that. "Something like that," I replied, cutting into my pancakes as the rest of the bikers sat down and dug into their breakfast. "But this contract now supersedes anything other promise you’ve said before."
As soon as I spoke, a golden contract, similar to what I had signed all those months ago, appeared in the air in front of them. "What can I say? I like to be thorough."
The men grunted, and, one after another, they quickly signed their names.
The Devil’s Hounds now officially belonged to the Devil.
