Chapter 142: Don’t Make Me Kill You
Dimitri bit his tongue, making sure that he wouldn’t be speaking out loud while Luca ’negotiated’ with the bandit leader.
’My soul belongs to my Kitten,’ shrugged Dimitri even as the blood filling his mouth coated his tongue with its irony taste. ’You don’t have any say in the matter.’
"There is only one person who can dictate shit to me, and she is beside my current body right now," sneered Wrath, sending another streak of pain through Dimitri’s head. If this meat sack wouldn’t do what he wanted, he would just kill him and move on. "All you have to do is shut up and open your mind to me when I come calling again."
Wrath could feel his brothers’ presence in the men around his meat sack, which made him think that they were both thinking about the same person. And let’s face it; it didn’t matter what anyone called her...
She was theirs.
Dimitri stayed silent as he tried to build up a brick wall between him and the Sin in his mind. It was almost completely constructed when an image of Hattie standing behind an impossibly tall man filled his head. ’Who’s that?’ demanded Dimitri.
His Kitten seemed to be staring right at him, and yet, he knew that wasn’t possible. "Don’t worry about the Angel," sneered the voice in his head. "He’ll lose interest soon enough, I’m sure. If you want her... then you need to accept me."
"Done," snarled Dimitri, already breaking down the wall he had just built and opening himself for the demon to take him.
----
Luca raised an eyebrow as Dimitri snarled ’Done’, interrupting the conversation between himself and Derek.
"What’s done?" asked Luca, his voice soft and smooth as he looked over his shoulder at the other man.
Dimitri’s glassy eyes turned sharp as he looked down at Luca. "Me," he snarled, his voice full of the promise of violence. "I am done with this conversation. If you don’t want to work with us, then that’s fine. We don’t need you nearly as much as you need us."
Luca’s attention turned away from Dimitri and back to Derek, who let out a loud snort. "Look, puppy, you can’t come in here swinging your dick around and expecting us to submit."
Dimitri cocked his head to the side at such an angle that it didn’t look natural as he stepped in front of Luca. "Swinging my dick around?" he asked, his voice a low purr as he continued forward until he was almost pressing his chest against the other man. "Do you spend a lot of time thinking about my dick?"
Derek’s sneer quickly transformed into shock as Dimitri reached through his chest and ripped out his heart.
"Huh," grunted Dimitri as he turned around, the still beating organ in his hand. "Somehow, I thought that would be harder to do."
Luca stared at his brother, who was acting a lot differently than normal. "You good, man?" he asked, studying Dimitri the same way he was studying his hand.
"Honestly?" murmured Dimitri, his eyes once again glassy. "I don’t think I’ve ever been better."
Tossing the heart to Ronan, Dimitri turned around to look at the men standing behind Derek’s body. They were clearly in shock, their faces white as their brains tried to catch up to what was going on.
With a flick of his wrist, Dimitri embedded a series of daggers into each one of their foreheads before. More and more bodies fell helplessly to the ground as blood leached into the soil. "De ’gator’s be eatin’ good tonight," chuckled Dimitri, whistling a catchy tune.
It wasn’t until that moment that Luca realized that Dimitri had been speaking to him without his normal accent.
Strolling forward, Dimitri found a series of cages with men and women locked inside. Raising an eyebrow, he conjured two keys in his hand. "Let’s play a game, shall we?" he chuckled. Ever so carefully, he placed the keys within, grabbing distance of the cage locks before stepping back.
"Freedom now comes with a price. Those left standing can take what they can and leave..." Leaving it at that, Dimitri continued to whistle as he walked back to Luca.
"Anythin’ else, Bossman?" he chuckled. "Cause I be enjoyin’ myself at de moment."
Ronan chucked the bleeding heart in his hand toward one of the gator slides and gripped Dimitri on the shoulder. "Now, hows dinna I see just how fun ye can be?" Letting his toxic mist flow into the men and women battling it out for survival, the two brothers watched as, one after another; the bodies hit the floor.
-----
Rolling over in the second best bed I had ever woken up in, I let out a low moan. "Tank," I practically purred, feeling the warm, hard chest under my hand. "I don’t want to wake up."
I felt the body under me stiffen as I spoke, and it was enough that I forced one eye open. "You’re not Tank," I sleepily murmured, closing my eyes again as I nestled against Chang Xuefeng’s side.
"No, I’m not," chucked Chang Xuefeng, pulling me tighter against his side. "And if you want to keep this Tank breathing, then you might not want to make that mistake again."
Snorting at his pompousness, I rolled my eyes. "Tank is mine. And even if I never find my way back to him, he will still be mine. Try to hurt him if you dare."
"If he is yours, why isn’t he here? Why did he let you go to Camp Hell? If you were my woman, there would be no way I would ever let you out of my eyesight. I would burn the world down for you, and heaven help anyone who got in my way."
Realizing that Chang Xuefeng wasn’t going to let this go, I let out a long sigh and called my Teddy. If my current body pillow didn’t want to cuddle, then at least Teddy would.
"Luca LeBlanc," I started with a long sigh. "Dimitri Blou, Salvatore Breaux, Ronan Pothier, Tank LaGrange and Dante Leone."
"A list of people to kill?" chuckled Chang Xuefeng, and I almost shuddered at the threat in his voice.
"Are a list of people who are mine," I countered. "There might be more, but I haven’t spent much time with them before people tried to kill me. I will kill anyone who touches what is mine. Don’t make me kill you."
