Chapter 120: I’m Bored

The three Sins searched every area of hell using the mirrors in the throne room. Each one was directly connected to a different realm, a different level... there was no place in this universe that the Gatekeeper could have slithered off to and not have it shown on the mirrors.

Well... except for one place. But that was impossible. Only one person could send someone to that level, and he hadn’t been seen in forever.

"You don’t start an uprising in Hell and just vanish when victory is in your sight," growled Envy as he took another second of mirrors and started searching them. "He had our backs against the wall, and as soon as he got the killing shot, he simply vanishes? No. He has to be hiding somewhere."

"I don’t know," muttered Lust hesitantly as he looked through the section of mirrors in front of him. "He had us bent over with our pants down. There is no way that the demon who had planned this hostile takeover went into hiding."

"Well," sighed Greed as he stared a little too long into one particular mirror that they were all familiar with. "More than just him disappearing, we have yet another problem."

"Has anyone ever told you that you are just a ray of fucking sunshine?" demanded Sloth as he entered the room. While he wasn’t covered in nearly as much blood as his brothers, there was enough splattered over his face and chest to let everyone know he hadn’t slept through the battle.

"No Gatekeeper means no one is at the gate," pointed out Greed as he moved to yet another mirror. "There is a mass exodus the likes of which haven’t been seen since ancient times. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is cashing in on this one-way ticket."

"Oh, fuck me up the ass without lube," sighed Lust as his brothers gave him a look of disgust. "No wonder the Devil washed his hands of this place. Give the demons an inch, and they are going to look for the first exit out."

"Where the fuck is the old man when you need him? Hell isn’t our domain; it’s not our kingdom. Why are we putting our asses on the line time and again for someone who hasn’t even bothered to show us his face?" sighed Gluttony as his eyes continued to scan every inch of the mirrors in front of him.

"You know," purred Lust after a moment of silence. "There is technically nothing keeping us here now. Not Gatekeeper, no Devil, no one. This would be the perfect time for us to up and leave. We already have our bodies selected. We wouldn’t even need the power from Hattie. Think about it."

The rest of the sins froze as Lust’s words washed over them will all the seductive charm that Lust embodied.

"We can’t," announced Pride, turning to look at his brother from over his shoulder. "We are better than the others. We have earned our place here with blood, sweat, and tears... and only a few were our own. The Devil might not be here, but we are. If the others don’t fall in line, then we will show them why we are the Seven Deadly Sins."

There was a soft grunt from Greed as he cracked his neck from side to side. "Okay then. Our fearless leader has spoken; the rest of us can do nothing but obey." His words were sarcastic, but the smile on his face as he looked at Pride showed that he was just joking.

"I’ll go to the gate," grunted Envy in agreement. "But no one is getting a trial; just saying. If they are taking advantage of this... opportunity, then they can just die."

"I’ll go with him," agreed Greed. "Do we have any minions who can watch the gate after we’ve cleaned it up?"

"There are one or two that I am willing to trust," grunted Pride. "But this shit would be a lot easier if we could just find Wrath. No one fucks with that demon."

There was a chorus of agreement from around the room as the brothers split up to get to work. Pride went to go see a minion about a job while Greed and Envy went to the only entrance and exit of Hell.

The rest would continue looking through the mirrors, trying to find the son of a bitch who started all this shit.

"The first one to find him gets to rip his limbs from his body... and keep going every time they grew back," chuckled Gluttony as he moved to a different section of the throne room. However, no matter where the remaining Sins went, they always kept an eye on one particular mirror.

After all, they weren’t going to let their hearts out of their sight anytime soon—even if they were realms apart.

"I’m booooorrrrrreeeeddddd," I whined, slumping on my cot. Teddy was firmly clutched in my arms as I stared at Chang Xuefeng on the other side of the bars. "Has my name been called for tonight?"

At this point in time, I was almost begging for the chance to get into the ring again, just so I could do something other than sitting in my cage.

I had yet to show off my new look, and I was sure that the audience would eat it up. But ever since I took out Silent But Deadly, it has been crickets. Hell, only Chang Xuefeng was brave enough to come close, and even he had to stay on the other side of the cage.

"You killed their champion," sighed Chang Xuefeng, a slight smile on his broken face. The lesions were starting to close up, somehow, and he was almost looking human again.

Which was a feat considering he was once a zombie.

Or was he a leveled-up zombie? Or a now living walking dead?

But no matter what you called him, the Reaver was looking a lot less Reaver-ish, and that was almost a worry.

"Have you been spending time with the Healer?" I asked, jumping down from my cot and approaching the bars. "You are looking healthier than before."
