The atmosphere was set into confusion.

A moment ago, they were about to strike a deal, and suddenly Nellyx’s voice rang through the speaker in the infirmary.

Kieran was the most confused, as the statement that he had heard was one that was threatening enough to make him sweat.

’What happened?’

He didn’t know what happened, and he knew the two in front of him had no idea either.

It was clearly written on their faces.

Jacob had a slightly angered look on his face.

’Why’d it have to be now?’

Anita, on the other hand, was just utterly confused. She completely had no idea what was going on, or what was going to happen either.

All she knew, though, was that Kieran must’ve probably done something terrible to have the entire school on him so suddenly.

"You’re to remain where you are. I’ll send someone to bring you to my office. If you offer any resistance, then I’m certain you wouldn’t like to face all the hunters within this premise, myself included."

Kieran was left even more confused as he heard her statement.

"Tch. Who are these humans? What makes them think they can hold us back... Just look how weak they are, threatening us."

She gave a mocking scoff, her voice filled with arrogance and pride.

But this pride... There was something different.

It wasn’t pride that wasn’t backed up with anything; this was a pride that was backed up with actual strength.

’She cleared out the entire clan of trolls without even moving from her spot... If I was to grade her power, she’s probably an SSS-ranked beast. Dealing with all these hunters would definitely not be an issue.’

Kieran could tell this—he had seen just enough to know just how strong Alexa actually was.

He didn’t need to put it to the test.

Especially not in a situation like this, where he even had no idea what he was being accused of.

As well, he knew he had to keep her existence a secret.

With such a powerhouse on his side, he could be considered a one-man army.

Not many could even stand up against him.

’I’m a world-class threat if they’re to find out about my talent now... I’ll have to keep both her and my talent a secret for some time... At least till I’m strong enough to protect myself from every form of problem,’ Kieran assessed, his gaze still fixed on the speaker.

He couldn’t help but ponder just what happened for Nellyx to suddenly throw a threat at him.

And it didn’t seem to be a playful joke. From the way her voice sounded, he could definitely tell it was far from being a joke.

Jacob turned to look at Kieran, he too wondering what brought about the situation.

"Do you have any idea why you’re being called upon so suddenly?" Jacob turned with a serious expression on his face.

He had already done so much to take Kieran with him—he definitely couldn’t stand idly and watch a sudden assault against him.

He had already taken it upon himself to act, if this was simply just an act to keep anyone from getting the young man’s talent.

’I won’t be shocked if they could stoop so low to get what they want,’ Jacob thought to himself, even more convinced that this was merely to keep Kieran away from all the other factions.

He calmly waited for a reply from Kieran, his deep blue gaze fixed on him.

Kieran shook his head.

"I have no idea what is happening," he replied calmly.

"Hmm," Jacob hummed thoughtfully.

As much as he wanted to belittle the academy, the seriousness in Nellyx’s voice made him think otherwise.

’She sounded as though he had done something terribly bad.’

He turned his gaze to Kieran once more.

It was only now that he remembered that he was still on the clinic bed.

"What happened to you? Why were you brought here?"

Hearing the question snapped Kieran out of his own thoughts, and momentarily, his eyes flashed with anger.

Of course, he had yet to forget the three idiots who had thrown him into a den of lions.

If it weren’t for his special system, and his awakening... he definitely wouldn’t have survived in such a condition.

Kieran went on to narrate the entire story to Jacob, giving the latter a better understanding of his hate against the Nelkon family.

’Not only are they causing trouble in the various realms... but even their descendants have turned to bullies? Even to the extent of almost killing a student?’

Jacob could definitely understand Kieran’s rage, and his reason for hating the Nelkon family was much more clear.

But Kieran’s narration left some questions unanswered, one of them being...

"Then how did you survive the C-rank realm?"

Jacob frowned. He had faced several C-rank realms in the past... Although it wasn’t tasking for him, the same couldn’t be said for a young boy like Kieran.

Clearing a C-rank realm was no easy task.

Let alone defeat it alone. If they were to gather an entire class from the newly awakened, about eighty percent were sure to lose their lives.

With all that analysis done in his mind, Jacob found it hard to believe that Kieran’s survival was merely a thing of luck.

’Even if the school got informed on time, merely seconds is enough for two trolls to kill a youngling like him,’ Jacob thought, calmly waiting for a reply from Kieran.

’Shit!’ Kieran felt a large bead of sweat roll down his face.

He tried his best to stray away from the topic during his explanation, but it appeared Jacob was someone who was very keen.

Kieran’s thoughts railed—he had to think of something, a way to explain without revealing his talent or Alexa to them.

"How did you escape?" Jacob asked again.

"I—"
