Chapter 30: Accusations
"I-"
Kieran’s words got stuck in his mouth as the door of the clinic clicked open.
Stepping inside was one of the teachers of the academy.
She was a very popular teacher, one that dealt with their combat training, and one that Kieran was well acquainted with.
He had learnt a lot from her and gave her great respect.
Despite her short height, which of course brought a few taunts from the students, they knew better than to speak of it in front of her.
They all knew how strong she was.
She was said to be one of the strongest hunters aside from the Dean and Nellyx herself.
On a normal day, she would have graced Kieran’s presence with a warm smile, since he was her best student.
Kieran trained very well in combat.
Even she didn’t know the fuel behind his training, but he always put in much more effort than all the other students.
However, today, she didn’t welcome him with a smile—she kept a stoic face,
Carrying the aura of the hardened warrior she was.
To add more to the already tense atmosphere, she had her battle exo-suit on, and even her weapon.
It made Kieran even more curious.
’What the hell is going on?’
"Miss Oma...."
"Follow me to the Dean’s office now. You’re not allowed to say anything... and any suspicious movements from you will force me to take action."
Kieran was quickly cut off, Oma’s voice dripping with a chilling intensity.
Jacob, seeing the exchange, knew that Kieran had to have done something bad to get such treatment from a high-ranking official of the academy.
"What has the boy done?"
He couldn’t hold back his curiosity.
The matter was a serious one from the looks of things; the academy couldn’t suddenly get so tensed up over a single student.
Oma turned her gaze to Jacob.
She had been ordered to bring Kieran directly to the Dean’s office... She had no intention of telling him anything, since that would be best done by Nellyx herself, but having Jacob ask was a different matter altogether.
She drew a long breath.
"Young Master Kieran has been charged with severely injuring the Dean of the academy... and destroying school property!"
She announced, the weight of her words coming down like a sledgehammer.
Kieran’s face was filled with shock.
Jacob threw a quiet glance towards the sickly-looking boy by his side.
’Is he that dangerous?’

Meanwhile, in a secured room deep in the Nelkon family.
"Captain Simon, the entire squad was completely cleared out!" a distressed voice came from the command room.
"I can see, I’m not blind!" Simon said back, frustration in his voice.
He slammed his hand hard on the desk, making it shake.
"How did this happen?" he muttered to himself thoughtfully.
’What did they encounter in the raid mission?’
He didn’t know what happened, but that was the first time he had ever heard the voice of his vice-captain shake.
She wasn’t the strongest, but he didn’t choose her based on strength alone. He chose her because of her unyielding spirit.
A spirit that made her unyielding even to him—something that amused him very much.
She wasn’t from the main branch of the Nelkon family, but because of her character, he chose her.
Her unyielding spirit made her the best vice, and coupled with her loyalty, he definitely couldn’t ask for more.
The other generals of the Nelkon family had tried to talk him out of it, but of course,
’Those old brats know nothing.’
He was the youngest general of the Nelkon family, and he was in all rights a genius—a title that added very well to his arrogance.
It hurt him so much that the figure he had been training as his body shield had been killed so easily.
’Tch.’
For the first time in a long time, he felt really angry
"It was a C-rank realm, on a community-wide level, teemed with a bunch of walking squirrels and rats—how the hell did they die?!" A vein popped on his head, and he slumped back into the command chair.
The heat in the room instantly flared up, the intensity causing those within to sweat profusely.
But Simon didn’t seem to care about them at all.
"That realm space was meant to be that of the Blue Fang faction, right?" he asked, his voice calm, yet all those there could feel the weight of the brewing storm.
Shakily, one of the hunters spoke.
"Yes, it was in one of their areas. The Nelkon family had to make prior preparations to get it off them, due to the high amount of Doperium that was found there," he explained, turning up the command screen while showing Simon footage of the mine that was in the rat realm.
The bright light from the screen shone on his dark face, making the scar that ran across his face much more defined.
"There’s no way my vice would have died from a common rat camp.... It seems the Blue Fang faction wants to test the power of the Nelkon family... It’s time we remind these small factions of the power of the origin family... they’ve forgotten those who helped them understand the concept of awakening."
Simon opened the palm of his hand, and a bright blue flame winked into existence.
"I’ll burn down their camps." His eyes turned dark, and as he tightened his hands into a fist, the blue flames extinguished.
A cold, chilling air ran through the entire room.
They didn’t know what was going to happen.
They didn’t know how it would happen.
All they knew was that the flame tyrant of the Nelkon family was angry.
Simon Nelkon wasn’t the type to leave without destruction.
He was the most arrogant of the generals, and his arrogance was backed up by his strength.
He had single-handedly cleared out a B-rank, town-wide realm alone.
A strength that was enough to send chills down the spine of men.
’I blame myself. I should’ve gone to that camp regardless,’ he thought to himself.
’It doesn’t matter anymore though... They’ll pay for whatever happened there.’ A cold grin crossed his face.
"Make preparations. We’ll be paying the Blue Fangs a visit."
