Awakening to a Special-Grade Explorer
Vol. 4 - Ch. 207 - Ferocious Combination!

A thick shroud of dark clouds blanketed the sky above the dungeon, swirling ominously over the monsters below. Suddenly, a crack of blue lightning tore through the clouds, revealing a dragon-like creature, reminiscent of a Kirin.

Tenji gasped as he gazed at the cloud, something he was already aware about from the video and the lectures. His heart pounded with excitement as he strained to keep his focus, eager to witness the battle stance of his idol firsthand.

The young man, entranced by explorers, had been an avid watcher of that video. With clouds unfurled into the sky momentarily, and appearing from amidst them an azure Kirin. A technique that he had been so spellbound since childhood, one that he had countless times from video, staring at so so hard it wouldn't be strange for hole to appear on TV. Now he---his entire being was witnessing the technique from up close/

"Go, go, Aubraka."

A cheering murmur spontaneously slipped out of Tenji's mouth.

The zero-grade explorer, Aubraka, hoisted up the white wand, writing something in the mid-air and closed it with a period.

"---<Kiriloud>."

What transpired next was a matter of a split second. The squirming, pitch black thunder clouds elongated and took the shape of the dragon's torso and pummelling down on the monster in a straight line. Within the clouds surged torrents of lightning, while the exterior roiled with furious thunderclouds. The overwhelming mass pressed down, engulfing both the monster and Jay.

Immediately after, the howl of the monster poured into everyone's ear, a sign evident of it receiving the electric shock from within clouds. However, that lasted only for a mere moment before the monster's arm burst forth from the swirling torrent, like a needle coming out of cloth. Utilising its monstrous physical abilities, peculiar only to monsters, it managed to escape out of the bind of ultra AoE class magic.

"Oh? This certainly is incomparable to that from seven years ago......but, I think I can work it out."

Aubraka mutters in a faint voice before swinging his wand like a baton. Following the movement of the wand, the clouds, too, shifted its shape, its speed, and even pattern, once again swallowing the escaping monster within itself.

Everything was within the grasp of Aubraka. All aspects of clouds followed his will, relentlessly attacking the foe marked. The stream of attack was one where it provided no room to counter-attack, neither for attack nor even breath. ---This was the extraordinary strength of Aubraka, an iron clad fact that no one here would be able to refute.

As a matter of fact, he was the probable the sole person within the world who could use such an continuous, Ultra AoE magic spell.

Incessantly, the lightning strikes poured down.

"Grrrruuuuu!"

Fumes started rising from all over the monster's skin, and, as if finally realising there was no way out of this situation, it cut down on its haphazard movement, privoted and charged directly at Aubraka, the master of these clouds.

Aubraka was slightly startled to see the swift speed of the monster, nonetheless he didn't let it sway his control over the magic, apparently having no fear of it.

The monster was blitzing in the direction of Aubraka when it was interrupted by a red armoured man, sporting a muscular build, who suddenly appeared out of thin air.

It was Jay that stood as a wall in front of the monster.

"I have bad news, and it's that...you're right in my trap."

He flashed a irritating smirk, spreading beneath his glasses.

<Bloody Sand Range>---Jay’s one of secret techniques which when once used in a place that fulfils all the criteria, it would grant him instantaneous movement ability, and bind the foe to always focus on Jay.

To put it into words---Jay could use instantaneous movement and intrude in the periphery of foe the instant the target, caught in his trap, ever so thought of gunning at someone else. However it's the condition that actually makes execution a tricky move.

Jay must introduce a certain amount of his blood within foe's body, which he had already secretly slipped when he was fighting the monster. It was a tough condition, but he had accomplished it. Furthermore, there was one more astonishing effect to this technique, given that he managed to satisfy the 'side' condition---that is, Jay could reduce the damage taken from afflicted targets by 95% flat if he could slip in twice the required amount of blood in the opponent's body. A mere 5% damage meant he was literally invincible against his foe.

"Grrrruuuuu!"

"<Blood Sand Immobilisation>!"

Bang

Jay and aforementioned monster headbutted once again. Jay remained unfazed at the aftermath of the collision, but monster staggered back, its stance crumbling.

However it quickly utilised the recoil in its favour, bending its body backward before smashing at Jay with its right hand, flashing a distasteful expression.

But before the monster’s attack could receive the ending, it faced an attack from an unexpected angle.

Aubraka, seemingly waiting for this moment when the monster was unable to defend, murmured <Thunder God Fist>, and swung down his wand with force. Momentarily, a fist composed of dark, giant thunder clouds smashed down at the monster with breakneck speed.

"Grrrruuuuu!?"

Monster's face twisted in agony as it faced a relentless, two-pronged attack. It had faced that sparkling, speedster of an old hag earlier, but never believed her to be a threat. However, as it now stood amidst a pincer attack of these two people, boasting might comparable to that old hag, the monster realised its folly. Maybe, using another word, it was just ignorant about the world.

A tremendous force acted on its body and pushed it toward the sky. And within a few moments, the monster lost its footing and was hurled up in the sky. Three shadows silently appeared right above the monster.

"You and your bland moves, Aubraka."

Up high in the sky, Leon stood while taking an optimal stance in the air, an intense purplish-red spiral swirling around his right arm. He wore a defiant smile on his face, as if mocking the god itself.

"Alright, I'm taking over those thunder clouds."

Leon muttered as a pair of fascinating, beautiful wings of purplish-red colour---or so it gave the impression of enchanted, but it was actually Leon manifesting the power of his spiral at full throttle---appeared from behind his back.

Leon's ability was but simple one---everything and anything was the <Helix Magic>.

Further delving into his ability---it was his power where, by specifying the space coordinate, he could bend the space to give rise to spirals and off-handedly control their speed to size or even expansion of arc. He could use those spirals to ensare a person like throwing a loop, pierced through the flesh of a target like a drill, or twist the body entirely. He was also capable of producing typhoon-like situations by projecting spirals from top, gathering all the objects the generated wind could carry and then bash them at the foe with tremendous momentum.

In short, to which extent the <Helix Magic> could be used was all dependent on the calibre of Leon.

Right now, spirals summoned by Leon had begun to gather all the thunder clouds Aubraka conjured in the sky, coalescing them and preparing his final move to bombard at the monster. In a flash, the thunder clouds, surrounded by the spirals, were condensed into a single dark sphere of three metres, hovering right in front of Leon's hand.

It all had transpired in mere one second, and flashing a fierce grin---though it was just working to give a comical effect---Leon clenched his right fist tightly.

"Fusion Spiral Magic---<Heaven Spiral Lightning>!"

The wings growing from back worked as an anchor to diffuse the recoil as Leon fired the spirals concentrated in his hand into a straight line, like a beam straight out of railgun.
