’My agility is now C, and I can probably run faster than average, but it’s still far from my old top speed,’ he muttered, analyzing the status window.

He then looked at his strength. When he flexed his fist, he could tell he was stronger than when he played football—maybe around 30% stronger, but that was just an estimate.

Without hitting the gym and doing some tests, he couldn’t be sure. It could also just be a placebo effect.

Feeling stronger after drinking even an unexpected medicine wasn’t exactly rare.

’This would be faster if the system gave me another way to grow stronger, like leveling up, but I can only rely on these missions,’ he sighed.

There wasn’t even a level on his status, and he was clueless on how to increase the effect of his skills.

For now, he could only hope that this would change in the future.

He focused back on the key slot, which was built into the floor.

It was a narrow, rectangular space, with a faint glow around it.

Next to the slot, a small panel showed a red light, meaning the door was locked.

The metal around the slot was smooth and shiny, with a small chip reader in the middle.

It looked like a high-tech security system, but the fact that it was on the floor made it blend in more than he expected.

’This is a problem. I doubt that any low-access card would work here.’

He remembered the object the mysterious woman had given him before.

’But what about a B-Rank?’

He pulled the card from his pocket and swiped it, hoping for the best.

CLICK!

The red light turned green, and the floor began to vibrate.

Slowly, a hidden set of stairs revealed themselves, leading even further down.

[DING!]

[Bonus Mission: Follow them to the third part of their destination]

It was getting more and more dangerous, but the temptation of gaining a third skill in a row was too much.

When he reached the bottom, the whole area changed.

The walls and floors were now made of metal, giving everything a cold, industrial feel.

Thanks to his Silent Step skill, he reduced the noise, though he still had to be extra careful with each step.

’What’s that thing?’

Ahead of him was a glass door, marking the entrance to an open metal bridge.

When he peered through the glass, he could see it was at least three inches thick, and there was some sort of decontamination chamber on the other side.

’This place looks straight out of a sci-fi movie,’ he muttered to himself. ’There’s no mutated monster inside, right? Or an alien?’

It looked dangerous, so he tried the other rooms on the side.

As expected, they were filled with white hazmat suits, lined up neatly, ready for use.

Reaching for the nearest suit, he quickly stripped off his jacket and started putting it on, making sure every part of the suit fit snugly.

It was very bulky, but he knew it would provide some protection if things went south.

Once he was fully suited up, he double-checked the straps and seals, making sure everything was secure.

Then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw them—guns. His heart raced, and he quickly walked over to check them out.

But as he got closer, his excitement faded. They weren’t real guns at all, but dart guns made of plastic.

’Wait, why do they have these in a place like this? Are they expecting to sedate a large gorilla?’

His worry grew.

Deciding to check the other lockers, he was pleasantly surprised to find long rifle shaped dart guns, along with ammunition.

The door of the locker contained a plastic card that detailed the grades of the dart ammo.

Green-tipped darts were labeled as the least effective, followed by blue-tipped, and finally, the red-tipped darts, which were marked as "lethal for humans"—exactly what he was looking for.

’But I still need to know how to use this.’

He decided to take a moment and study the rifle shaped dart gun before rushing forward. He examined its design, noting how simple and intuitive it was.

Sleek curves and an ergonomic grip made it easy to hold and aim.

The buttons and mechanisms were also strategically placed, allowing for quick access and seamless operation.

After fiddling with it for a while, he quickly figured out how to load the darts and operate the gun.

The reloading process was simple: a quick release of the magazine, load the darts into the mag, and it was ready to go.

Everything about the it was automatic, designed to be handled smoothly in high-pressure situations.

His grip tightened around the dart gun as he tested its weight. It was well-balanced, not too heavy, yet sturdy enough to handle rough use.

Before charging in blindly, he decided to test fire it.

Raising the gun, he aimed at the wall and slowly squeezed the trigger.

Pfft!

The dart whooshed through the air, hitting the wall with barely a sound.

’Nice. not too noisy,’

Instead of gunpowder, the weapon used compressed gas, likely CO2 or an internal air tank—to drive the dart forward.

The design made sense. A weapon like this prioritized stealth over firepower.

Neo’s fingers traced the fire mode selector on the side.

Single Shot Mode: Each trigger pull released one dart.

Burst Mode: A quick succession of three darts per trigger pull, perfect for increasing the chance of hitting a moving target.

Full Auto Mode: A continuous stream of darts as long as the trigger was held down.

’Perfect this will even the odds a little," ’he chuckled, a dark, sadistic smile crossing his face. ’Just you wait, fuckers. I’ll make you regret ever meeting me,’
